It's not over yet... Need to watch the Bengals dominate the Ravens first. Unless we lose, in which case I respect the Ravens and their fan-base.

The feeling of losing your fantasy week because of Pierre Garcon sucks.

Our OL certainly doesn't do him many favors anymore, and NE looks to have a dominant Front 7, but I'm not so sure CJ deserves to be a feature back anymore. I'd like to get him 15 carries and 5-7 catches a game, but we need a guy who can step in for 10-12 carries and let the running game develop some sort of rhythm. CJ just doesn't allow that anymore because he'll either hesitate towards the hole or string something too far out cause he's looking for the home run. And with an inexperienced QB, this offense can't really afford for the rushing attack to lose yardage and get it into 2nd and 11+ or 3rd and long situations.
Although, it is hilarious how the coaches and FO decided to completely ignore OL in the offseason, aside for signing an aging Steve Hutchinson, despite local media and fans pushing the issue at every chance. They passed on the likes of DeCastro and Zeitler in the 1st, and Konz in the 2nd, and the explanation they gave was that they didn't value the G position enough to address it early. So what were they then expecting to happen this season? Some miraculous turnaround by adding a guy on the back end of his career? It's dumbfounding.

You can talk about whatever you want. You missed the point of why I made the initial comment.

Are you certain that's what I'm going to say after all of the outlined times you've mentioned have passed?

So glad football is back. Trying hard to reserve judgement on certain things though. In all my years of being a football fan what I observe is usually week 3 the patterns start to become established - the first couple weeks of the season are somewhat of a crap shoot and it takes time to sift through the anomalies to find out what the reality of the NFL landscape is for the season.
One thing I can say with confidence is that the Packers really need a running game - they haven't had one in a few years now.

Who knows if the Pack has a running game yet? The 49ers run defense is almost historic. Remember the run they had last year not giving up a rush TD until like Week 15 or 16? In an age when teams routinely put up 40+?
Give Benson and that OL a chance against a front that isn't Justin Smith and company all jazzed up for Week 1 in a game when Rodgers is actual efficient which I'm sure will happen as soon as Week 2.

This. I am not sure about the Packers running game yet but give them at least another week. No one runs against the 49ers and the Packers inability to do so shouldn't have surprised anyone

As far as the 'it's only Week 1'.
Not for us. Not for us. That was a CRIPPLING late loss on the road to a division opponent that we had millions of opportunities to win. A game in which our golden boy rookie QB was so underwhelming, skittish, and non-aggressive, that mixed with his subpar WRs, poor OL, and downright ATROCIOUS offensive gameplan/playcalling, leaves the team 0-1 staring at 0-2 with a damn good Dallas squad coming to town.
There are only 16 games. Every win matters. If your team lost in Week 1, you should feel bad. You absolutely should judge them. Now they matter.
Every year down the stretch there are those 2 or 3 games 'we SHOULD HAVE WON.'
"If we had won any of those, we'd be in great shape!"
Week 1 was one of those for a few teams. A loss in Week 1 counts just as much as a loss in Week 17.

^To that end, I watched the entire Saints game, and they looked AWFUL. On both sides of the ball.
RGIII played well, but I swear they ran 5 plays the entire game - many of which were simple one-read play action max pro posts and WR screens. The Saints were just completely inept on D and the lack of Sean Payton absolutely affected their offense.
'It's only Week 1' but the Saints just lost to a rookie AT HOME in a game they were supposed to win. With the Falcons and Bucs looking improved and the Panthers likely to bounce back, every loss is HUGE, especially to a bad team.
Cam Newton would've hung 40+ on that defense too if it played as bad as it did yesterday. Offenses are going to score at ease on New Orleans if they don't get better.
And I see no reason it'll get much better. They have next to no pass rush, no athleticism or speed at LB (Wilson is just a pass ruhser and not even a good one), and burnable players all around the secondary. Roman Harper does not belong as a starter in today's pass happy NFL. Patrick Robinson is fast, but bad.
The Saints Week 1 showing is obviously only 1/16th of it, but there's a lot to draw from their first meaningful action and it ain't good at all.

The Saints not only played terrible on D, but they couldn't block anyone. It seemed like 3 man rushes were in the backfield within seconds. Brees also threw a INT that made absolutely no sense, it was a terrible throw and I think he was triple covered.
The entire team played so bad, it's hard to believe they are that bad in all aspects. Did Mark Ingram even play? Way to spend a future 1st round pick on a player that you can't even figure out ways to get on the field. It be 1 thing if the player just wasn't working out, but their not even attempting to get him out there. Awesome pick.
