The problem is that New England's running game has been pretty ineffective, so keeping the ball on the ground would be akin to surrendering a possession.

Maybe, maybe not. Flacco is the most enigmatic QB in the league, looks great in these situations about half the time and the other half he completely shits the bed.

I completely agree. Old refs make one big mistake that we all complain about. These refs have at least 6 that we could debate all week.

Part of me kinda feels sorry for these refs. There are clearly out of there league at this level. I blame the NFL for just throwing them in there.
