Yes I understand that but was that front 7 as dominant as it is now with a solid secondary to go with it? I think not but then again I'm no SF fan, in fact I hate you guys for stealin mah two SBs! ;) Comparing him to Aldon Smith is flat out stupid but saying he would probably have better production is not.
Well part of the reason it is dominant is because we replaced peices like Lawson with better peices like Aldon. Lawson played beside Justin Smith, just like Aldon. He played beside McDonald, Sopoaga, and Willis. Still, the impact wasn't there where we needed it the most....on 3rd and long. The one thing that held us back from being great defense was the ability to generate a pass-rush. We could not get off the field on 3rd down. The addition of Aldon, plus moving Brooks into Lawson old LOLB spot changed that. You put Lawson in the this current defense in Aldon's current role and the impact wouldn't be the same. I guarantee it. It would be a major drop off, in terms of pressures, sacks, QB hits, 3rd down convert percentage, etc. Lawson was never that kind of difference maker on the edge. Playing with a different coach and a couple new secondary players wouldn't change that.
Eh, they went 4-4 last year at home and lost to Rex Grossman in Seattle. If you're not confident about your other alternatives don't be scared about picking against Seattle just because they are at home.
They also beat Baltimore and a revived Philly at home and played SF to a very close game. With Tarvaris Jackson...

The Philly game was the Vince Young I don't belong to the NFL game. Baltimore I'll give you but that was one of Flacco's worst games. Missing Wide open receivers and he probably did more to lose that game than anything the Seahawks did. They have also lost to Josh Freeman and Andy Dalton as Rookies and almost to Matthew Stafford as a Rookie(the 2-14 Lions version). They are slightly above average at home but I'm not sure Qwest Field makes them some kind of great team.
Look at it this way, if Rodgers had Allstate instead of State Farm, he'd be protected from mayhem like this

I'm not sure I like that bet. In their two games this year, both teams have had an average of 3.5 sacks happen in the game. I don't think this bet is as much of a lock as last week's. Good luck.

i went more conservative than i did in the packers/bears (which i won the over 4.5 in the first quarter)
but i figure manning is going to throw an awful lot and cam is going against a great pass rush that will probably get him a few times, especially if hes hesitant to run at all

I love Julio, always had a huge man crush on him since Alabama, but I don't love Roddy White I don't feel like he's a guy you can turn to in the 4th quarter to make clutch catches. They do have Julio so I guess that point is negated.
As a Giants fan I'll refrain from homerism, but Nicks and Cruz... they're good lol.
id take wallace and brown over nicks and cruz, and id especially take wallace/brown/sanders over nicks/cruz/whoever the hell the play #3 (hixon/barden/randel)
and julio and roddy are the sex

I'm fine if you pick ATL but I don't think Pitt is better. I think Nicks and Wallace are equal but I have Cruz over Brown. If you go to a 3rd WR then yes the Giants would then be out of the discussion. It's a good thing I said duo though.

PIT is a far third for me.
Did you not watch the Falcons/Broncos game? Julio had 3 drops, while Roddy had 8 receptions.

i think brown and cruz are in similar situations with the #1 guy taking a lot of pressure off them and getting them a lot of catches. Cruz does score more TDs but brown is extremely clutch in big moments and a nightmare on third down, ive seen cruz have the dropsies/bobbles quite a bit especially on shorter stuff. Totally preference, not really far off either way

I know people here don't like comparing quarterbacks without knowing who they are, though given that I am posting it you likely know who one of them is. This is not my comparison originally, though I did expand upon it. But these two quarterbacks seem pretty similar to me.
