Colts HC Chuck Pagano to miss "several" games with Leukemia

ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reports that Pagano has been diagnosed with leukemia. Doctors have told him he will be hospitalized for six weeks but that he will make a full recovery and return to coaching.

Well ****. Glad he'll at least make a full recovery.
Bruce Arians will coach the team in the interim.
Also, can someone please change the thread title to "six" instead of "several."

I wasn't aware there was a type of leukemia that is extremely treatable but thankfully, that's what he has. I know a little boy who has leukemia and it is a terrible cancer. Prayers for a full recovery are with Pagano.

If he comes back at all from this he will have endeared himself to Indy for sure. Us midwest types are suckers for stories of overcoming adversity. I also did not know there was a "very treatable" form of leukemia. I also note that "treatable" does not necessarily mean "curable". If he can't come back then the Colts are screwed but I hope for his family's sake he takes whatever time he needs to fully beat his illness and live a reasonably normal life afterward.

The type of Leukaemia that Chuck Pagano has (APL) is one of the more treatable forms of Leukaemia with a remission rate of around 85-90% (the number is higher among young people but, I would imagine in Chuck Pagano's favour, also higher in patients in good physical condition).

This is terrible news, but the good news is it is not as bad as it could be. At least he has a curable form of it.

Awful news, I hope the best for him in his recovery. His health is the most important thing for him. The Colts will be there when he gets back.
