The “we beat ourselves” mantra is trite, but it’s been ingrained in football players to feel that way. Coaches even teach it. Call it the “winner’s attitude” and label anything else as defeatist. I believe in Urban Meyer’s playbook, one of his basic philosophies is something along the lines of, “You didn’t lose. You just ran out of time.” As creatures of confidence, players believe in that idea. It’s easier to accept than being beaten because self-doubt is the worst thing that can happen to athlete. No one wants to admit that their best just wasn’t good enough. Doesn’t make it right or less aggravating, but it’s not going to change either.

At some point, it becomes an issue of plain, dumb, bad luck, which Belichick acknowledged saying: “Football players play football. You tell me which guys are going to get hurt and I’ll get them out of there.”
|
I laughed.

Jacksonville may have finally given up on gabbert. Henne has been named the starter this week regardless of gabberts injury status

I just don't understand why Gronk, Brady, and a few others are even involved in plays like that.
(I also wanted to see Ryan Mallett earlier...)

I have no ******* clue what he's talking about. Welker will now be doubled constantly and Brandon Lloyd will become invisible again. If Hernandez doesn't come back - the Patriots next best weapons will be Julian Edelman and Greg Salas (and maybe Deon Branch, again...)

Hopefully the Bears sell out to stop the run and force Kaep and his WRs to make plays against press coverage.

I'm not saying having Gronk out there was the right call, I just thought BB's response was funny.

I somehow doubt the Jets manage to turn their focus around this quickly for a thursday night game when they can't even stop mutinying against themselves for five minutes. We literally gave them every opportunity in the world to beat us last time and they still some how managed to choke that game away, sure they could win but I don't see it happening all things considered.

I really want Kaepernick to do well because it seems like all 49er fans on this board are rooting him to fail just so they can validate alex smith.
