Tonight was our first week of playoffs and Bree's does this. And I go against Brady. The only bright spot is that Julio and Rogers only got him 14.5 combined.

I'd say that the current passing climate definitely makes it a lot easier to break/match the streak. In the first 45 years, nobody came within one full season of matching the Unitas record. This millennium, three players have done it.
It's still rare and crazy difficult to put together that type of streak, but I definitely think most of us will be alive when the Brees record is broken.

I would have liked to see the Falcons lose, but I'm glad Brees' streak is over. **** that guy. Even though I'm not a Brady fan either I hope he breaks it next year.

How can you hate Brees? Is it all the money he's donated to charities out of his own pocket? Or did he just bang your gf? Either way neither is his fault.

NFC South matches up with AFC East next season as well. This is a golden opportunity for the league. Can you imagine Tom Brady breaking Drew Brees' record in the superdome on Sunday Night/Monday Night Football. My God that would be hilarious. I can imagine the expressions on Brees' face, and the fan reaction.

It won't mean as much for Brady to break Brees' as it was for Brees to break Unitas. It just won't.

No, but that's the way it should be. It shouldn't have meant as much to Brees as it seemingly did either. With the passer-friendly rules in the NFL today, it was pretty much given that someone would break that record sooner or later. I hold Unitas' streak in much higher regard than Brees'. Or Brady's, if/when he passes Brees.

I absolutely hated the way he came off during the lockout and bounty scandal as this pompous, slimy politician type. He lost all the good will I had towards him then.

Agreed. His holdout and his comments regarding the bounty scandal were revealing.

LOL. Brees is a good guy. That's not an act.
Brees was representing the collective interests of his fellow teammates and NFL players during the lockout. That's what leaders do.
If I were a player, Brees is exactly the kind of guy I'd want battling for my interests with the league owners.

Brees rubbed me the wrong way during the lockout as well. I've never been a huge fan of his because the Saints fans at Ole Miss were just the worst and he was obviously their poster boy. As far as "all the Brees hate" goes, come on. With the exception of maybe A-Rod all big name QB's have a contingent of people who continuously flame them. The only difference is most of those QBs never had a 0 TD/5 interception game.

We're all still demanding the evidence becuse there is none. There's testimony from 2 shady guys. But that's another topic for another day.

I heard that Drew Brees tried to give his son diabetes with gummy bear pizza. Any truth to that rumor?

Brees also has another streak (record tying as a matter of fact) for consecutive touchdown passes that is still active:
Consecutive games of 2 TD passes in playoff games, 7 (tied with Joe Montana and Terry Bradshaw). So during Brees's next playoff game (next year?), he needs to throw at least 2 TDs to set that record.
Brees also tied Brady's consecutive (uninterrupted) record at 43 last Sunday, but failed to pass it on Thursday. Both Brees and Brady started their streak (in that respect) on the same week.
