That makes sense for college sports, but pro teams are just massive corporations with no loyalty to anyone but themselves. The Vikings threatened to move for years until they could fleece enough money from Minnesota taxpayers to build their new stadium. That hardly endears civic loyalty for me.

Right. Where they are from, not live.
There are fans from all over down here in Dallas.... Giants, Eagles, Packers, Bears, etc.
None of em become Cowboys fans.
Probably back in the 90's they did.
That's one big thing about true Viking fans: they've always lost, yet they're still fans.... the ones here, gotta respect that.
I hate bandwagon jumpers. No time for them.

It will be a missed FG by Mare, followed by the Bears going prevent D with <2 mins left, a questionable PF call will keep the drive alive and Hanson hits a 40 yarder to win.

That's a sweet gig. He just stands around on the sidelines and doesn't say anything of note...and gets paid for it!

I don't think I could be a Lakers/Clippers/USC/Chargers/Kings/Ducks/Dodgers/Angels fan.

Well I do, but watching Union Berlin wasn't really an option when I was a little kid, so I had to start watching american sports and ended up picking teams that reminded me the most of the german national team.

That wasn't the players pulling that bullschit though.
Fans root for the players, the team on the field.
**** the politicians, owners, etc. It ain't about them.
And you love the Bears no matter what you say here.

We referring to the Texans. The Patriots beat them in NE, not Houston. Reading just fine over here. Understand now?

There are obvious type exceptions like the Pirates, Bengals, and Bobcats. However, for the most part I agree.

I hate that argument for college sports. Illinois fans use it all the time saying our state tax dollars fund their public educations so everyone in the state should be loyal to U of I. Makes zero sense.

Well you choose if you have many. But you can't be a Packers/Lakers/Yankees fan. What really pisses me off are Packer/Twins/Wild/Wolves fans. Not real sports fans.

No he left her for an all world Victoria secret model who probably has more money than he does. Thats not even a debatable decision.
