There is no point in hoarding them tbh. The more you put into energy, the more missions you can do. The more you put into attack, the more battles you can do. Saving them only hurts you.

I tend to save when I don't know what to do. I used to play D2 into Act 3 having only used the minimum points to equip items.

Once I got all 3 stats to about 120 i started putting 90% of the points into attack power. Now I can almost do 2 full attacks consecutively, even though I rarely ever do full attacks anymore.
