Love the write-up! I'm honestly a big fan of Manti's and can't stand when people suggest they don't want any part of him. If rams don't sign Daryl Smith, I would be ok with taking Te'o at 22.

He'd be the smallest and slowest linebacker drafted in the 1st round that I can remember.
I like this quote....
"I think he can play and he can help your defense," an AFC head coach said. "But he's a two-down player on a good team. He's not a star. If I'm taking a linebacker in the first round, I want a guy who can change my defense. Trust me, I've been wrong about linebackers before, but this guy doesn't fit the bill of what I spend a high pick on."

JL ran his forty in 4,81 seconds. I think if a lot of teams could re-do that draft, he'd be a first rounder.

physically theres not much to not like about him...he can play in coverage, play the run, shed blockers, is good in traffic, and has sideline to sideline range. hes very smart, will be able to run a defense and call out plays...his play recognition is excellent.
I dont give a **** about the "scandal", that has made him one of the most over analyzed players of all time...but it did bring about questions of his mental toughness. He IS going to be made fun of, i question if he will be able to shake it off and go out there and make plays and make everyone forget about it or if hes going to shut down, blame the jokes and ridiculous media attention as a distraction adn hide and cry in the corner.
If he goes out and make plays, no one will care.

I have to disagree with Teo offering schematic and positional versatility. His best fit is clearly as a power bottom. He lacks the length necessary to really offer much as a top.
