I was thinking the same thing. This isn't a free agent signing, heh.

Still think Lewan is a RT prospect. Clowney started slow, but then just dominated him the rest of the game. From what I saw, Clowney clearly won the battle and the war.

I thought Lewan held his own when they were matched up together. It's probably not fair to downgrade a guy for getting beat a few times by a guy who most people say is a once in a decade talent.

This just confirmed my opinions of both of them. Clowney is a robot, I mean straight up there is no way he is human(the same goes for only Megatron, AD, and JPP) and Lewan is the #2 LT in this draft and will be a stud.

I think Lewan wants to see what is going to happen with Mathews and Joeckel before making a decision. If they stay I think he goes and vice versa.

He's reportedly already settled on representation.

Talent and development are two separate things.
Young guys like Clowney can sometimes be overhyped, but in this case the hype is justified. The kid is an absolute freak.

You could always do the math and decide whether to come back or note but there's always the chance of injury and heck these guys want to get paid.

The play Clowney made today was one of the greatest I've ever seen on a football field.
wtf
With him, Lee, Bridgewater, and Watkins, next year is the year to suck...

Jacksonville has to be the early favorite for the 2014 Clowney sweepstakes. Especially if they go into next season with Henne at QB. He's basically the Andrew luck of DEs, quite jealous of whoever lands him.

Right now Jax seems to be projected to get Werner this year - I wouldn''t blame them for going back to back DEs if they end up sucking next season - that would be an amazing duo

Yeah, that'd be incredible. Also, I'd enjoy the lead-up to that scenario with people claiming you don't take Clowney simply because you have Werner, which would be hilarious.

If they are picking at the top of the draft then the whole Gabbert/Tebow experiment failed. The temptation to take a QB will be real.
There have been several great defensive players who weren't the first pick in the draft: Lawrence Taylor, Derrick Thomas, Cornelius Bennett.

If a there's a QB worthy of the #1 selection, assuming the team that has that pick needs a QB, they should definitely take that player.

Teddy Bridgewater is Clowney's only likely competition for the #1 pick next year. 2014 is shaping up to be a horrific QB class, with guys like Mettenberger and Logan Thomas. Braxton miller and teddy bridgewater are 2 guys that could make serious strides though.

2014 has some potential. Bridgewater and Miller are obvious guys, McCarron will also be a solid prospect. You've got Boyd if he stays, plus Fales. Driskel has all the tools to be a premier prospect, he just needs to develop. Same for Blake Bell. Plus by some miracle Mettenberger and/or Thomas may stop sucking balls, although I'll believe it when I see it. I wouldn't write off 2014 just yet.

Way to early to know the strength of next years QB class. There are always under the radar guys that make a push and become hot prospects.

Forgot about Fales he could definitely develop into a first rounder for sure. Driskel has a ton of potential too for sure. As it stands now though I wouldn't want to be a qb needy team in 2014

I'd keep Johnny Manziel in mind when talking 2014 QBs.

It's going to be very interesting to see how Johnny Football is evaluated.
