They said something about strained calves. Didn't sound serious though.
Jeter with the bases loaded...

To respond to what Max and Jug were talking about, a Sports forum is likely at this point. It's just a question of when.

I'm so pissed I won't be able to see Andy Pettitte's first start as a Yankee again. Damn these April day games on weekdays.

Tell me about it, I wasn't able to watch Monday's game either. And I purposely cancelled my plans on Thursday night solely because I need to watch the Yanks, something I am taking some heat for but there wasn't any way that I was going to miss the first 3 games of the season, Devil Rays or not.

Doesn't matter. Game was postponed because of weather.

Also Johnny Damon would have been out of the linup again today. He said his injury definately feels worse than just cramps. Torre says its day to day. We'll see.

Yup, he would have been penciled in CF had they played the game today. Cano also would have led off in Damon's absence.

I think Jeter would have been a better fit at lead off rather than Cano in Damon's absence. Cano just doesn't have that speed you look for from the #1 spot.

I agree. I'd rather see Jeter #1 and Cano #2 in the lineup with Damon out. But Torre said it would have been Cano leading off.

Cano has never taken a pitch in his life, thats not what you want with a #1 hitter =/

Thats basically why I wouldn't bat him there. However his OBP is higher or as high as most leadoff hitters because his avg is so damn high.

I expect to be near 300 this year with a little more power. He probably put him there to keep the l/r going

His average will dip a bit from when he hit .342 last year, but I believe he'll be able to get into the 20 home run range.

I think we'll see Cano bat .330 or higher every year. I'm not sure how much his other tools will develop but just hitting in this lineup guarantees he'll hit for a high average. His homers should go up more this year but maybe by 5-8?
