He'll get it together. I don't buy that it's the Valley Fever thing considering he never even had any symptoms.
It's good to see Wilmer Flores start hitting like we thought as well.

On that subject, I'll post my very early top 10 prospect list:
1. Zack Wheeler (RHP)
2. Matt Harvey (RHP)
3. Jeurys Familia (RHP)
4. Kirk Nieuwenhuis (OF)
5. Jenrry Mejia (RHP)
6. Domingo Tapia (RHP)
7. Michael Fulmer (RHP)
8. Brandon Nimmo (OF)
9. Wilmer Flores (3b)
10. Cesar Puello (OF)
Definitely pitching dominated system. Even my 11-20 would probably be heavily pitching.
Savannah lineup is just an eye sore. Only my boy Travis Taijeron is worth following and he is 2 years too old for that level. They must really want to bring Nimmo and Evans slowly for them to not be in that lineup.

Tapia and Wheeler with awesome games yesterday. Out pitching depth is going to be sick finally.

Chris Young with a good rehab start also.
I don't know if he is the answer, but we need an upgrade at the 5th starter badly.

I'd call him up right away. Get as much of that arm as possible before he gets hurt again.

Seriously. Give him one more start in the minors just to stretch the arm a bit, then get him up here. No more Batista.

Awesome. Anything interesting? I always enjoy reading his interviews. I know Baseball Prospectus has done a few.

Didn't talk about baseball too much, this is a conference for data migration and he talked about analytics and how he got started in them (non baseball sense)
Well spoken and interesting though.

And it was only the Pirates, but it was good to see Niese back on track.

Yeah I'll take it especially when he hardly threw his curve today. Dickey great on Tuesday night also.

I wonder why Mets haven't called up Elvin Ramirez yet. He has been dominating this season.
Robert Carson and Jack Egbert have both been called up already.

I know that Mets don't want to rush them, but we really need Elvin Ramirez and Josh Edgin. Bullpen has really been dragging us down.
On the positive note, Wilmer Flores has been BEASTING this season. One of my personal favorites, Aderlin Rodriguez has been hot lately also, 2 HRs yesterday.
I hope they keep it up. They are arguably the two best power-hitting prospects in the system.

Yeam I'm a little torn on the Elvin/Edgin thing. I want them to get their work in but we can use those types of arms in the pen.
Wilmer's breakout is great to see as is Marte and Aderlin. MDD is having a Kirk like year from 2011.

And Wilmer is still pretty damn young for the level he's at. I'm curious to see how he develops his power going forward and what position he projects to if he continues his success. It's a long ways a way but nonetheless is always fun to think about.
MDD is interesting though. Did he always show this much power? I honestly can't recall. I'd be interested to see how he projects to playing CF in the future. I literally have no idea what his defense is like. Does anyone have a scouting report on that?

Injury. He's pitching now though. Had a pretty nice outing yesterday.

Is he still gonna be used in relief or are they grooming him as a starter ?

I think Wilmer can only play two positions (3b and 1b). I think he would be awful in the OF.

From what I've read, he is a legit CFer and arguably the best defensive OF in our system. He hit 17 HRs between two levels last year, so his power is a good tool. The knock on him, other then his age, is his high K rate and average walk rate.

Not really sure. I haven't been as up to date on the Mets minors as I'd like.

Actually that's what a lot of Mets' fans are wondering right now also.
There were rumors that they planned to move him to the bullpen after a couple of starting outings, but he has been impressive as a starter including an improved command of his secondary pitches, so it's still an open question.
I hope they give him a chance as a starter.

MDD is a great CF. A possible Gold Glover if ever given the time. He's legit out there.
Wilmer can really only play 1B or 3B. If he played RF he'd be Duda or even worse.
Mejia should be a SP and the front office still hasn't really decided where they will put him. There are glowing reports from his start yesterday so hopefully that helps. Sandy has said they might put him in the pen to help out this year and then re-evaluate whether he can be a SP in the future. I certainly think he has the tools to be a SP.

Indeed. It will be interesting to see. I get a little aroused thinking of: Mejia-Niese-Harvey-Wheeler-Dickey
