I approve. Dickey is too sexy. If he wins 20 games I'd literally poop myself with excitement.

Me to Max. With his glove all we need is half a bat and he could be very valuable.
Great to see this team bounce back to take these 2 after the Yanks sweep against a super tough AL team on the road. Maybe we can have a sweep of our own tomorrow!

I'm sure you guys are happy about Eli throwing out the first pitch to day. Too bad he couldn't do it for the Yankees instead, but still pretty cool

Him and Wright are friends I believe. I'm sure he's thrown out a first pitch at Yankee Stadium before also. Wright is a big Giants fan he also has Giants stuff in his locker.

Luis Mateo has been very impressive so far for Brooklyn. I know he's maybe a little too old but he could be a big prospect for us. Not much has changed this year in regards to our pitching/hitting prospects. We have pitchers seemingly coming out of every level while out hitting really lacks those big bats.

I was about to post about Mateo. Great minds think alike. :)
Historically, Mets don't like to promote in-season from Brooklyn, but Mateo is 22-years-old and is one of the most talented arms in the system.
His is actually an interesting story, as he was signed by 2 different MLB teams before the Mets finally got him. Descrepency with birth certificate and failed physical voided those deals and Mets ended up getting him for, what might be, a big bargain.
As far as our system as a whole, I agree with you that pitching is MUCH deeper.
We have 4 guys in AAA/AA who might be ready soon (Matt den Dekker, Wilmer Flores, Jefry Marte and Wilferdo Tovar), the rest of the prospects still have a long way to go.
Pitching wise, as Zak has mentioned, every level has mulitple legit prospects.

Yeah he's been improving month by month. With our SP's pitching well no need to rush him which is very good.

Can't really complain too much about the first half. We are in contention. I am disappointed that the one area that Front Office made a priority in the off-season (bullpen) has been the biggest weakness.
A lot of positives from the Farm System also. Our pitching depth looks very strong with a bunch of high-ceiling guys (Wheeler, Harvey, Mejia, Familia, Tapia, Fulmer and Mateo) and also a bunch of lower ceiling, polished prospects also.
Position prospects depth is behind pitching, but better then I thought it would be prior to the season.
My top 20:
1. Zack Wheeler (RHP)
2. Matt Harvey (RHP)
3. Wilmer Flores (3B)
4. Jenrry Mejia (RHP)
5. Jeurys Familia (RHP)
6. Domingo Tapia (RHP)
7. Michael Fulmer (RHP)
8. Brandon Nimmo (OF)
9. Matt den Dekker (OF)
10. Gavin Cecchini (SS)
11. Jefry Marte (3B)
12. Aderlin Rodriguez (3B)
13. Luis Mateo (RHP)
14. Cory Mazzoni (RHP)
15. Wilfredo Tovar (SS)
16. Cesar Puello (OF)
17. Kevin Pawlecki (C)
18. Rafael Montero (RHP)
19. Jordany Valdespin (IF/OF)
20. Logan Verrett (RHP)

Nice list. There are several prospects that a case could be made for the top 20.
Hopefully Edgin helps. He has been pitching MUCH better lately.

Yeah he's been more of a LOOGY in AAA but I think once he gets going he'll be able to crossover.
Did you forget Evans or do you not think he's top 20 yet?

I'm not putting him or Matz there yet.
No question both are very interesting.

Looks like Gee is done for the season.

Really sucks, he was pitching well lately. Our other options are mediocre unless they call up Harvey (I don't think so).

Nice, I hope he keeps hitting.
He has the top power potential in the whole system imo.

Absolutely. No one even close to him in terms of pure power.

Law thinks the we should call up Harvey to take Gee's spot.
I gotta say, although I want him to keep developing, the idea is tempting.

I'd wait to call him up. He still needs to develop his off speed stuff some more.

Harvey looked ok last night. I still think he needs more seasoning in the minors.

Based on everything I've seen/heard, Harvey's not ready. I don't expect much from him, but I do expect him to be better than anything Batista/Hefner could give us. I don't know his psyche, but once again, everything I've seen/heard would suggest that if he does poorly, he won't be broken. It's time to call the kid up.
