The Jacoby Jones should have been MVP thread
How on gods green earth does this man get robbed like this? A 54 yard TD which Joe under throws him, he come back to the ball then gets up makes a man miss TD! All him! Then right out of the gate at half time 108! Wasn't for Jones ravens don't win this game.

I'm not sure this is thread worthy but I'll respond anyway: No. Jacoby Jones was not more important to that win than Flacco was.

Joe Flacco had the 8th highest Super Bowl passer rating of all time. The last time a QB had a higher one was 1995. Eli and Brady with all of their super bowl MVPs never had the game Flacco just had.
You think they win without Flacco?
He's tied with Joe Montana for the most TDs in a postseason without an INT.
Can't get no love from you haters.
**** plz.

This board loves to hate Flacco, but he deserved the MVP. The entire postseason he had was the most impressive I've ever seen and he capped it off with a great performance in the game. Yes, Jones had a few great plays, but that's it. It was a few plays. Other than that, he did nothing. Flacco was impactful from start to finish.

Either way, he deserved MVP. Played a great game.

They don't win if Jones doesn't make that great play on the poorly thrown ball from Flacco. And they don't win without his record tying kick return TD.
Flacco played very well, but Jones had a better game.

Still wasn't poorly thrown. He threw a deep ball that his guy could make a play on and that no defender could have gotten to.
Ridiculous to think he had a better game than the best QB performance in almost 20 years. If you want to bring up TDs, which player had more?

Which player had more TDs in the regular season, MVP Adrian Peterson or every starting QB in the league?

by stopping in full speed to turn around and catch, rather than over the shoulder where only his guy could get it?
Also Flacco didn't make the play by making 2 guys miss for a TD?
What about All Purpose Yards?

I don't think Adrian Peterson was legitimately the most valuable player in the league, so you don't want my answer.
If he wanted to be more valuable, he should have played QB where he could make more of a difference.
Put AD in a game with a McDonald's cashier playing QB. Put Peyton Manning in a game with a McDonald's cashier playing RB. Which team does better?

So essentially you're saying the Super Bowl MVP should go to the winning QB every year. That makes the award rather pointless.

No, not necessarily. Some years, there's just crap QB play on both sides. This year, one QB had one of the best SBs in history for his position.

Baby-hands Jacoby Jones was not the MVP of the SB, nor should he have been.

Jacoby deserved it because again, he had the most all purpose yards in Owl history tonight.

Flacco was MVP of the playoffs and played a pretty damn good game in the SB.
Jones was the MVP of the Super Bowl. A kick return TD is a game changing play and you add in converting a deep bomb to a TD (when he had to fall down to catch the pass...very easily he couldve been downed and the Ravens forced to kick a FG on a short field) he just had a phenomenal game for a pretty nondescript player.

A few plays? Most close game are lost on one play.

I would have given it to Jones but I am not at all upset Flacco won it. He had an incredible game. Co-MVPs I say!

Again 56 yards, 1 Rec and 1Td from Joe sats should be for Jones. That wasn't a great throw. Not even a good throw. It wasa bad throw that jones made a great play on.

Pretty sure AD would kill to have a McDonald's cashier replace Ponder. I mean, it's a pretty close career path to Grocery store stocker and that worked out nicely for the Rams, right?

The TD pass to Jacoby Jones was slightly underthrown. So what?? People are gushing like Jacoby had to stop on his route and run back five yards to make the catch.
Yeah he made a nice move to get to the endzone, but do people really believe Jacoby Jones had more impact on the Ravens winning that game than Flacco??
Joe Flacco was the best player on the field tonight.
MVP.

He had to stop turn around and grab that thing like a punt. Jones had the two biggest plays of the game. MVP for me
