This is a formula used by the football analytics website Footballoutsiders.com to predict the NFL careers of college QB prospects.
It correctly predicted Russell Wilson as the top QB of the 2012 draft long before he ever played a snap for the Seahawks. I don't think that the stats are set in stone, but it is a very interesting read for a more "numbers" based approach to the draft:
This year, the system loves Geno Smith, and, surprisingly, Landry Jones. Based on the numbers it actually rates Smith and Jones as comparable to RGIII and Andrew Luck as prospects, which is interesting to say the least.
