Default Full 7 round mock with trades in 1st 2 rounds

Not exactly sure why I did a full 7 rounds, I just felt like punting my entire afternoon I suppose. I am sure there are plenty of mistakes, just let me know if I forgot someone or listed someone twice, etc. If you don't like your teams picks, please try to back up your displeasure with facts and not simply your opinion, I'd appreciate it.

Enjoy.

Round 1

1. KC - Luke Joeckel - OT - Texas A & M
I think the Chiefs will desperately want to trade back, but I don't think they'll want to move out of the top 5, and none of the teams in the top 5 can really afford to move up, so I don't think they'll get an offer they like enough to give up this year's top prospect.

2. JAC - Geno Smith - QB - West Virginia
It happens every year, I just need to learn to accept it. A QB who isn't worth top 10 consideration by many's standards gets taken way above his value. The Jaguars flirt with giving up this pick to the Dolphins for their 2nd, but it just isn't worth it that much to them.

Miami trades its 1st round (12th overall) and 2nd round (42nd overall) to Oakland for its 1st round (3rd overall) selection.

3. MIA - Eric Fisher - OT - Central Michigan

The speculation is that Miami wants one of the top LT prospects in this class, and they have the ammo to move up and grab one with 2 2nd round picks. I don't think the top of the draft is anywhere near as strong as usual, so 1 2nd rounder should be enough to move from 12 to 3 and Oakland will be happy to get back into the 2nd round with tons of needs.

4. PHI - Star Lotuleilei - DL - Utah
It would appear that the heart condition from the combine was an anomaly and Star is back into the top 5 discussion. With Cox and Sopoanga, Lotuleilei will likely play DE in the Eagles new 3-man front. Dion Jordan would be an option here but I just don't see it with as much money they have sunk into Cole and Barwin, and with Brandon Graham as a solid 3rd rusher.

5. DET - Ezekiel Ansah - DE - BYU
The Lions could stick to the BPA approach and grab Sharrif Floyd or Dion Jordan, but Ansah is right up there and is likely a better fit for their scheme. Drafting Floyd would make for an interesting scenario with 3 1st round DTs there.

Dallas trades its 1st round (18th overall), 2nd round (47th overall), and 2014 2nd round pick to Cleveland for its 1st round (6th overall) selection.

6. DAL - Sharrif Floyd - DT - Florida

For the 2nd year in a row, Jerry Jones aggressively moves up to get the missing piece in the Cowboys defense. Browns could stick here and take Milliner or Jordan as well.

7. ARI - Dion Jordan - OLB - Oregon
I don't think its a lock that Arizona takes Lane Johnson, they have needs at many locations, so BPA in the 1st round is more likely, which Johnson isn't at 7.

8. BUF - Dee Milliner - CB - Alabama
Surprisingly the Bills have done nothing to address corner in free agency, and gave a shocking amount of money to McElvin who hasn't shown any ability to start at corner in this league. Don't see how they can pass on Milliner here.

9. NYJ - Barkevious Mingo - OLB - LSU
I think I've covered this ad nauseum as a Jets fan. With tons of needs and edge rushers being sparse in later rounds in this draft, while safeties guards and tight ends are a plenty, Mingo is the clear choice here.

St. Louis trades its 1st round (16th overall) and 3rd round (78th overall) to Tennessee for its 1st round (10th overall) selection.

10. STL - Cordarelle Patterson - WR - Tennessee

With the Titans not really needing any of the BPAs at 10, they can afford to drop back a few spots and pick up an additional pick from a team that accumulated plenty last year. Patterson would make for an interesting trio of young WRs with Quick and Givens and allow the Rams to open up the offense this year.

11. SD - Lane Johnson - OT - Oklahoma
Desperate for someone to fill in at LT this year, the Chargers may force the issue and move into the top 10 to get Johnson, but they also have plenty of other needs so I don't see a trade up as likely. They should hope that the Cardinals draft BPA at 7 like I have here.

12. OAK - Sheldon Richardson - DT - Missouri
With needs practically everywhere, the Raiders should simply draft BPA here, and I think that player is Richardson at 12.

13. TB - Xavier Rhodes - CB - Florida State
Even if the Bucs land Revis which I think they will (for next years 1st rounder, not this years, being a realistic Jets fan here), they still need another corner as Eric Wright is not reliable at all.

14. CAR - Tavon Austin - WR - West Virginia
Sure why not, I'll buy into the hype on this guy and put him in the top 15. He certainly has the ability, its just hard to project a guy with his size going so high in the draft.

Chicago trades its 1st round (20th overall) and 4th round (117th overall) to New Orleans for its 1st round (15th overall) selection.

15. CHI - Chance Warmack - OG - Alabama

With the best guard in the draft still on the board, the Bears don't risk Warmack or Cooper still being there at 20 and give up one of their few picks to fill their biggest and one of the only needs they have.

16. TEN - Jonathan Cooper - OG - North Carolina
With the stop-gaps of Pollard and Wilson in place at SS, I don't think they need to grab Vaccaro here and can instead address the other guard position as Spencer isn't really starting caliber anymore.

San Francisco trades its 1st round (31st overall) and 2nd round (34th overall) to Pittsburgh for its 1st round (17th overall) selection.

17. SF - Kenny Vaccaro - S - Texas

I know most of my trades thus far have been indicative of how this year is a buyer's market for teams trading up as there are plenty more looking to move back than move up, however the 49ers have no leverage here. As many picks as they have and as few needs as they have, it's pretty obvious they need to move up at some point. They should desperately want Vaccaro as safety is a huge need, and one of the few they have right now. Pittsburgh would likely draft Jarvis Jones if they kept this pick.

18. CLE - Desmond Trufant - CB - Washington
The Browns are still able to fill a big need after trading back 12 spots and accumulating 2 2nd rounders in the process.

19. NYG - Bjoern Werner - DE - Florida State
I don't think the Giants will hold onto the card long on this one. Regardless of how his stock has dropped, he would be a great value pick at 19 and would fill a need considering the Giants' scheme that relies heavily on pass rushing DEs.

20. NO - Jarvis Jones - OLB - Georgia
A good trade back for the Saints as they get a guy they likely would have taken at 15 anyway. Jones should be able to win a starting job easily with a group such as Martez Wilson, Victor Butler, and Junior Gallette in place.

21. CIN - D.J. Fluker - OT - Alabama
I'm guessing there is a reason why they haven't re-signed Andre Smith, and maybe this is it?

22. STL - Johnathan Cyprien - S - Florida International
Tough call here, Rams could go Ogletree or Brown here just as easily. Safety is clearly their biggest need however, so I like them to take Cyprien or Vaccaro in the 1st.

23. MIN - Keenan Allen - WR - California
Absolutely shocked at how much money they gave Jennings, and maybe its indicative of how they feel about this WR class and not their desperation at the position. I'll go with the latter though.

Denver trades its 1st round (28th overall) and 4th round (125th overall) to Indianapolis for its 1st round (24th overall) selection.

24. DEN - Alec Ogletree - LB - Georgia

Despite the character concerns, I still think Ogletree will be the first LB off the board. Denver has very few needs and can afford to part with a 4th rounder to move ahead of the Vikings to get the best LB in the class.

25. MIN - Kevin Minter - LB - LSU
While Arthur Brown is likely the better prospect, he projects better as an OLB in a 4-3, where the Vikings are set. Minter would be a better fit, albeit giving up some value at 25.

26. GB - Tyler Eifert - TE - Notre Dame
By picking up his 3mil roster bonus, the Packers only guaranteed that Finley would be with the team in 2013, he will almost surely hit the market next year, where Eifert can step in as the every down TE. The Packers do utilize multiple TEs, and he can contribute right away while preparing for the bigger role next year. The Packers could also explore trading Finley if Eifert fell to them.

27. HOU - Arthur Brown - ILB - Kansas State
A big need and solid value here as Brown is likely the 2nd best LB prospect in the draft. DeAndre Hopkins or possibly Jesse Williams would also make sense here.

28. IND - Jesse Williams - DL - Alabama
Despite the signings of Jean-Francois and Franklin, the front 3 remains a huge need for the Colts. Other positions of need such as a strong-side LB, corners, and interior linemen don't have guys worth the 28th pick.

29. NE - Tank Carradine - DE - Florida State
Carradine would be a solid fit for the Patriots' multiple D scheme as he can lineup in several spots on the line, and can rush from the edge or interior. Solid value and fills a need.

Buffalo trades its 2nd round (41st overall) and 3rd round (71st overall) to Atlanta for its 1st round (30th overall) selection.

30. BUF - Matt Barkley - QB - USC

I'm really not seeing more than 2 QBs getting drafted in the 1st round this year, but maybe I'm wrong. Geno and Barkley are the only 2 guys that look like 1st rounders, and I'm not buying into the Manuel or Nassib hype. The Kolb contract seemed low enough that it doesn't rule out the Bills drafting a QB in the 1st or 2nd round.

31. PIT - Damontre Moore - OLB - Texas A & M
I really don't see Moore falling out of the 1st round, and if he does I hope he goes to the Jets in the 2nd, I value tape more than the combine and Moore has done some great things on the field in the toughest conference.

32. BAL - DeAndre Hopkins - WR - Clemson
If Hopkins is there I don't see how they take Te'o over him. Trading away Boldin makes me feel that WR is definitely on their radar in the 1st despite their gaping hole at ILB.

Glennon in the second sucks. If you could have given us warford there it would have been a 360 windmill slam dunk.

But glennon killed it.

I like the trade up for Vaccaro. I like Wheaton, but don't see us drafting 3 WRs. I'm fine with drafting a TE, but I think it will be a player with a similar skill set to Delanie Walker... Reed is just a receiving TE.

It's tough to do a 7 rounder for every team. Props for that.

Obviously you know the Jets' needs, so that's a non-issue. Not a big Ertz guy so I don't love him in the second, but it makes sense that's just a personal preference. Only other nitpicky thing is I'm not sure the Jets need to draft two safeties since they've got two young guys already (think a veteran would be more helpful), but I like both picks. Love Evans, think he's very underrated.

Very solid overall mock, too. I like most of the top 10. Not sure on the Dallas trade or Lane Johnson slipping out of the top ten, but other than that...

Ace Sanders is more of a return specialist than receiver, but yeah if I had mocked trades for later rounds I would've had the Niners trade up more, they have way too many picks to mock them as is.

Hopkins is a really nice first round pick. He fits what the Ravens need at WR and I think he's going to be a good player in the NFL. I'm not sure if I buy Moore as a 2nd round pick yet. He has the skills I want Baltimore to look for in a LB though. Simon doesn't make a lot of sense in the third round. He's not really a pass-rusher and Upshaw is more than fine as the SAM. Lester is meh. I like Hughes but if Ngata is playing more NT I don't think they look at that position until late in the draft. Fragel is nice. I like Fuller too but after already taking a WR it's not a great pick. Depth isn't an issue there, just the starter opposite of Smith. Adams is alright. Stoneburner makes sense as does Jensen. I really like Mauti at that point. His knees are a concern but in the 7th round (after already making 10 picks) it's not a big deal. McDougald is bleh, but taking another safety is a waste of a pick. Like WR depth isn't an issue just a starting spot.

Eh.....Bears aren't trading up for Warmack. 1. The OL looks to be set after the signing of Slauson. 2. They wouldn't trade up with Cooper also still on the board. I could see them wanting Warmack more than Cooper but not enough to make that deal.

Yeah that's a good point, I just feel like the Bears are a team that could easily trade up especially if it only costs them a 4th since they addressed most of their needs with free agency

A few things -

I would LOVE Warmack in a Bears' jersey this Fall - we have not had a Guard like him in a LONG time. However, I don't think we trade up for him or anyone else for that matter - we have H U G E depth issues at almost every position & 1/2 of our defense will be FA's next year. We need picks, not trade them away.

I will give you this - I like the Robert Woods pick - considering Johnny Knox was forced to retire, Devin Hester is NOT a WR, and Earl Bennett the past 2 yrs cannot stay healthy.

But overall I give anyone major props for writing a 7 round mock !!

Rd5b Zac Stacy
Rd6 Micah Hyde
Rd7 Quanterus Smith

I think Williams/Escobar helps the team more than Eifert/Hunt. Just not a believer in Hunt.

Terrence Williams definitely needs some refinement but has the ability to make plays on the ball downfield. Rodgers has shown he wil give his outside receivers chances even if covered and Terrence can make those plays. He wouldn't have to contribute right away but could soften the blow of likely losing Jones after next season.

Chase Thomas provides needed depth at OLB and maybe even ILB.

Brennan Williams is a value pick here. Starter upside and lots of questions at LT.

Zac Stacy is a good fit in the zone scheme. Could be a steal.

Micah Hyde as developmental FS.

Quanterus Smith has too much potential to pass on in favor of a kicker. I think the competition talk for Crosby is more lip service/motivational tactics than actually interest in replacing him.

I appreciate all the hard work here, so positive rep on that. But too many RB's for Miami. Ball and even Pryor would have been fine, but Ware was just overkill. More defensive line help is needed next time you edit this.

I am a big fan of the Fisher, Poyer, Thomas and Ball picks though.

Hmm yeah I think if I mocked trades in later rounds I'd have the dolphins trade up a bit so they'd only take ball and Pryor. Much like the niners with the 2 WRs and 1 wr/returner

I love the Colts trade and I really like everything after the first pick.

I don't want to spend an early round pick on a DT.

Great mock.

According to trade value charts, wouldn't TN get a bit more for giving up their #10 for 16?

Cooper sounds better at 16 for sure, but it's hard to pass up on Werner or Carradine. Okafor at 40 suits me though.

Escobar may have been useful if we hadn't signed Delaine Walker. Our other two TE's aren't going anywhere, so using a high 3rd for a 4th TE isn't likely imo.

Don't see the need for Barrett Jones in the 3rd. It's getting a bit carried away with o-line after getting Cooper, the FA's and with the current roster.

Guys I'd look at in that range with who's there on your mock would be DaRick Rogers, Swope, John Simon, or maybe another DL.

BW Webb is a nice pick. Wilcox may be a bit raw, but could develop and have a future here at SS.

How does Detroit have pick 113? Isn't that the Rams? If so, how bout the Titans get that to come close to evening out that Rams trade and they take Jordan Hill? I have a man crush on Hill, and I like playing mock draft games apparently :)

I can't knock the FB Bohanon, never seen him, but the Titans did just resign their FB to a 2 year deal. I think he's rather average, but it seems the team likes him. I actually like the potential of our backup FB Colin Mooney. Don't see them taking a FB at all. But at this point you could make a case for depth at many positions like LB, QB, WR, OL, RB, or maybe even another DL or DB I guess.

Eric Martin seems like a very interesting pick. Maybe better for a 34 OLB, but I think there's reason to believe a guy like him would be accepted as a piece of our D. I really like this pick.

Jasper Collins seems like a nice, productive late rnd WR. Seems worth a shot, as does Wood.

You took the time to do a long draft, so it's only fair for me to take the time to address every pick. There's some decisions I could really get on board with like the trade down for Cooper and then Okafor. Some of the depth guys seem like great fits. There's just a few picks I think the Titans will likely not make with how the roster stands, but overall, I think this is a good Titans mock :)
