It's so funny to me that people still don't understand how the value of a QB works after all this time. Just like people say Nassib is a 2nd rounder, but the odds of him actually lasting to that point are very slim because someone early in the 2nd who wants to take him will have to move up to ensure they get him. He's just not going to last until the Bills pick in that round.

Even guys like Kaepernick and Dalton wouldn't have made it to the 2nd had it not been 5 QB's who went in the 1st round. This draft doesn't have 5 who will go top 15, so it's going to push guys like Manuel and Nassib up. You may not take Manuel in the first 3 rounds, but to say you don't see him getting picked within that range is ridiculous and you'll be completely wrong.

Cordarrelle Patterson's gonna drop like a rock. Guy's got the elite athleticism and nothing else. Normally that'd be enough for someone to take a flyer on him, but more stuff regarding potential character concerns crop up with him seemingly every day.

Second round or later.

I kind of get the same vibe. He seems like the typical prospect that catches fire early with the sizzle plays. But as people look at him deeper, they notice a huge drop off on all of the other plays.

He just seems like a headliner/ceiling guy and when the draft comes, and people have to hitch their livelihoods and continued employment in the league on that #1 pick -- I think his value is going to drop in that moment of truth.

This draft is so deep in day 1 and even day 2, that there is a significant opportunity cost to busting on day 1. Because unlike most years, the next 30 guys that get picked after your bust, are probably all going to be quality starters in this league. You as a team will exit the draft in worse relative talent shape to the rest of the league. Usually, a late teens/early twenties pick can accomodate that risk, because the talent drop off is usually pretty significant after that.

I can see Patterson going day 2.

They are phantom character concerns.

Patterson is every bit as good of a prospect as Demaryius thomas, another dummy that never ran a real route before going pro, and patterson is way better in the open field.

Both had 46 catches their last year in college, bey bey had 10 yards more avg because he was asked to run 25 yards down the field and wait

Day 2 will never happen. If you're a GM and you're afraid of risk or a bust you can just draft Stedmon Bailey in the 3rd round and be happy to have a solid career out of him. Some people want the guy who will make the DC's stay up all night game planning for them or who has the chance to be a top 10 WR, sure that comes with risk but I can think of a ton of top 20 WR bust who can't do the things that Patterson can yet somehow he's not good enough to go in the 1st.

This draft is stock full of WR's with minimal risk, and a high fundamental understanding of the WR position. Guys like that are all over the league too and you can get one every year. I'm sure Miami enjoys having Brian Hartline on their team but nobody is going into the draft aiming to get a bunch of players like him at the WR position.

Probably Eddie Lacy, but if Steadman Bailey attends as well, I would say him.

Mingo is drafted one pick after Lacy.
