It is getting a bit worrying. He did just turn 26 which seems young but there are 16 QBs playing in the NFL younger than.

3 or 4 years in High School
3 or 4 years in College
3 or 4 years in the NFL

At this point you typically can make a call. The wheels completely coming off in multiple games is a bad sign.

How high you fly in the NFL has a lot to do with talent around you. But blowing up on the runway is a problem that can't be helped no matter what is around you.

If Kaepernick is your game plan, I hope you got a better one.

I'd be concerned. He's really struggling right now.
the question becomes whether this is a "sophomore" slump or if kaep is just a one year wonder.

the bad part is this isn't the first time he's had a game like this. week 2 and 3 were just as bad. thats 3 out 9 starts.

at this point wilson, luck, newton, rg3, bradford, and dalton have all outperformed kaepernick this year. he's been the worst of all the notable young QB's (not including awful QB's like ponder, gabbert, etc). even locker may have outperformed him this year.

kaepernick is getting no help from his receivers right now...Im not very worried about him. Vernon going out with a concussion was huge the offense really relies on him right now. Against a defensive front like Carolina that is capable of shutting down the run game and stopping Kaepernick from making plays with his legs, its not surprising to see him struggle. In the long run, Ill still take him over any of the young QBs outside of Andrew Luck.

Greg Roman needs to be fired. He is part of the problem. Every pass play is deep and takes forever to develop. I want to hire Gary Kubiak if he's fired in Houston. Kap needs to start getting under center like a real QB too.

Let me break it down for you. Rookie = first year player. You could stretch it and say "basically a rookie" for a 2nd year player who hasn't received any starts.

When you are a 3rd year player with EIGHTEEN starts you are not "basically a rookie".

Why did that need to be explained? Kaep is not even close to being a rookie. You can definitely argue he hasn't progressed as a 3rd year player should but not that he is "basically a rookie".

Kaep has a long delivery and he stares down his first read.

He needs to develop as a qb.

Your point is taken but he had one offseason as the starter, never went through a full season and all that entails, and as someone pointed out, he still plays like one which probably subconciously led to what I said.

I mean, if your point is to say that my point is invalid and that we should jump on him after his 18th start (which I'm in favor of if you have good reasoning), then that's one thing.

But if you just want to count number of games started to point out semantics, that's kinda pointless. In that case just sub in:

"He's still a very green QB"

Russell Wilson is playing at such a high level it's scary. He's made huge strides. We all know about his ability to make plays on the run, leadership and even-keeled demeanor, etc. But here are some things I've noticed come around in a huge way this season.

- His deep ball accuracy and ability to exploit one-on-one matchups down the field.

- His ability to recognize and beat the blitz before the snap.

- His ability to throw accurately in the face of pressure.

- His ability to throw accurately running to his left.

- An unrivaled stubbornness against forcing throws.

He still struggles at times seeing the field from the pocket and holds the ball too long/doesn't look to run quick enough. And that leads to his size hurting him in terms of ball security and losing fumbles. His internal clock could be better because he doesn't feel (or maybe care about) the rush that well at times and it can be costly.

But he's become a superstar and is right now one of the best QBs in the league.

I think sometimes in today's fantasy football culture we actually lose track of good ol' fashioned season stats. All we see are weekly yardage totals scrolling across the screen. So here are Wilson's through 10 games, and you might be shocked how good they are.

17/6 TD/INT ratio (6th in the NFL)
8.3 YPA (6th in the NFL)
63 % comp. (10th in the NFL including Ponder and Schuab)
101.8 QB rating (5th in the NFL)
395 rushing yards, 5.6 average, 1 TD, 19 first downs (1st among QBs)

The passing yardage totals aren't up there for obvious reasons, and the 5 lost fumbles is bad, but he's still having a fantastic season and the stats show it. Yes, the Seahawks defense is a huge reason for their succcess. As is the running game (which Wilson influences in a positive way). But make no mistake, Wilson is having an amazing year and deserves to be in the MVP-after-Peyton conversation. The National media is always first to point out Lynch and the defense. But Wilson's the best player and is having a terrific second year somewhat under the radar.

I like to make a long list for the MVP award to appreciate great seasons from a bunch of players rather than just pointing out one guy. It's pretty much impossible for anyone other than Manning to overtake him this year anyway. Here's my top ten so far (my point is to really take a look at where Wilson's season ranks in my opinion).

1) Peyton Manning
2) Drew Brees
3) Russell Wilson
4) Calvin Johnson
5) A.J. Green
6) Jimmy Graham
7) Andrew Luck
8) Jamaal Charles
9) Dez Bryant
10) Philip Rivers

Percy Harvin has officially been activated from the PUP and is not on the Seahawks 53-man roster. He's expected to play limited snaps this week at home against his former team, the Vikings.

Gotta make it through a week of practice first...

The Seahawks are expecting to be without cornerback Brandon Browner for an extended period of time.

Appearing on radio station ESPN 710, Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said that Browner's groin injury sustained against Atlanta could keep him out "quite a while."

The delivery has nothing to do with it and never has.

I know you'll keep saying that until it's engraved on your tombstone though BBD.

So bad that they scored 30+ points in 67% of their games. It's not crap!!!

It's just bizarre that some games seems like he sticks to a gameplan that clearly isn't working and won't adjust.

Average 35 points in their 6 victories
Average 6 points in their 3 defeats.

Browner's been arguably the worst player on D this year. He's made his share of plays but he's been burned and got lucky it didn't cost them on a bunch this year.

Walter Thurmond finally had his breakout game last week replacing BB. He's a great talent who hasn't been able to put together a full season due to injuries. He might actually be an upgrade at RCB.

The concern is in nickel because WTIII is the inside corner so Byron Maxwell, who's definitely not as good as Browner, will play RCB.

I think when a team calls a game very conservative it tells a lot about what they think about their QB.

Fans are always so quick to yell and scream at the OC for being conservative, but if they think chucking it 40 times isn't the right move because of the QB's unknown by fans deficiencies, then he probably knows better than the guy sitting on his couch who doesn't coach the kid every single day.

If isn't the play calling then wtf is going on besides injuries? It's gotta be something and needs to be fixed quick.

Playcalling is a part of it. But its not the biggest reason.

I don't feel Roman has been calling it conservative. It's not conservative to continuously call slow-developing routes when your QB struggles with blitz recognition. It's not conservative to use your #3 TE Vance McDonald and college DE Bruce Miller as primary targets in the passing game late in the 4th quarter when LaMichael James and Jon Baldwin are on the bench. I don't think it's conservative to insist on using 20+ seconds of the 24 second clock to shift at the LOS instead of focusing on snap responsibility.

Roman opened the season calling a far too aggressive game plan. When the power run game was utilized more, the team saw direct positive results.

I would just like to see an ability to adjust during a game when a certain aspect of the offense is clearly struggling.

Time to blow out the Roman candle. I want Kubiak in here as OC if he's let go.

Yes this actually happened.

Same place where the "49ers suck" comment was after the 49ers got blown out by the Colts.

It's a long season. Seattle has shown more evidence of being an elite team than San Francisco has over the entire span of 10 games.
