Default Bryn Renner, QB, UNC

This kid is a really under the radar prospect but is a better prospect than any other QB in the ACC (Morris, Boyd, Thomas) yet gets very little press. Could be a huge riser this year.

Definitely underrated at this point. Looks like he had a great performance at Manning's camp too, this year will be huge for him.

Just discussing with a friend the other day. Very underrated at this stage of the process and should be a huge riser this year. Renner has a chance to be one of the top 3 QBs drafted next May.

Mayock said he was the best all around QB at the Manning camp. I'm going to assume he was excluding Peyton, Eli and possibly Johnny Manziel.

I like his accuracy, decision making and ability to go through progressions. However, I do question his velocity. Ball doesn't really jump out of his hands. Seems like a "soft" arm on many throws, which he'll get away with at the NCAA level.

He doesn't anticipate or throw WRs open consistently either. Will wait for WR to come open al lot of the times. These are things he needs to improve on.

I like Renner as a prospect but I wouldn't consider him better than Boyd.

Boyd is a mediocre pro prospect. He is a good college QB in the system in which he plays but is undersized and not a dynamic athlete like Manziel.

Renner is a damn good QB, has all the tools that are looked for in a franchise type QB. He reminds me of Tannehill.

If Boyd is mediocre then so is EJ Manuel.

Renner's upside is probably Alex Smith/Sam Bradford (if he picks up their accuracy), and his downside is probably fellow alum TJ Yates. Unless he really improves with his field vision this year and arm strength/accuracy, I'd feel safer in the late 2nd with him. Tannehill is an interesting comparison, but I feel like Ryan has a ton more natural untapped ability. Whether he will reach it or not is up for debate.

Christian Ponder might be another good comparison.

Bills fans will be enjoying mediocrity for the next 4-5 seasons with Manuel. People really underrate Renner's athleticism. He was a really good WR prior to moving to QB his junior year in HS. I just think this guy is being severely underrated. He put up great numbers and should only get better year 2 in Fedora's system.

I think mediocrity would be a positive for the Bills. That team is a complete mess.

The NFL doesn't require that Boyd be a "dynamic" athlete. Is he able to make plays on his feet when the time calls for it? Yes, otherwise he has no problem operating from the pocket where, regardless of some of the nuances being added to NFL offenses, a QB will always have his greatest amount of success if he wants to last in the league.

Renner is not a bad prospect, and like others have mentioned the big question with him is that the ball doesn't come out of his hands with much on it. He can still have success given his accuracy and ability to breakdown defenses but his "potential" will plateau compared other young quarterbacks with varying skill sets.

Tannehill is worlds more athletic than Bryn. Bryn is one of those guys who has decent numbers but can't actually run. And when he gets hit it's game over, he goes into a shell.

Good accuracy numbers but I don't know if I've ever seen him throw a long ball that wasn't underthrown and pick material in the NFL.

So yea, Sam Bradford/Christian Ponder.

edit: He's better than Boyd who is a nothing prospect.

Renner is not the athlete Tannehill is, but he doesnt have to be. he is a decent QB, but like others have said he does not put that much on the ball when he throws. i have hardly seen him put the ball in small windows or tight coverage.

Day 3 tools pick. Watch three of his games and he only completed 1 pass 20+. Dude lives off the check-down to Bernard, who no longer is there.

His season came to an end with a shoulder injury. With his regression and injury he'll be lucky to get a UFA tryout right now.

It was to his non-throwing shoulder and he went back into the game after getting it reset. He'll be a great backup in a west coast type offense, but nothing more. I'd take him in the 5th/6th as a developmental prospect. The shoulder injury shouldn't worry anyone about his ability to throw the ball. His lack of pushing the ball downfield certainly should.
