DaQuan Jones looks to have improved leaps and bounds over his junior year. It looks like he's taken his physical shape seriously and has dropped in the neighborhood of 15-20 pounds since his junior season.
His quickness has improved markedly. He's naturally a big guy who looks like he'll have to maintain dietary discipline going forward to be successful. At least this season, it looks like he's done that.
He's had a monster start to the year and has been consistent. If he continues, he'll be in the Star Lotulelei class of prospect. Maybe even top 10 overall. Generally a lot of DT prospects flip the switch so to speak in their senior season. Jones looks like he may well have done that.
EDIT: I'm probably alone in this, but I can see this year's crop of DT to be superior to last years. Last year saw a lot more traditional run stuffing prospects. I think the pass rush DTs this year looks considerably better than that of 2013. There are several prospects that I think have a real shot at being very productive interior rushers. Jones is more of an all around DT who can do both -- sort of in the Fletcher Cox model. Not as good as a pass rush specialist. But a guy who is more like an every down DT.
