Default Tebow rally in Jacksonville

Guess who won't go away:

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...-jacksonville/

Allegedly, there was supposed to be a Tebow rally held today in Jacksonville.

It was a bust. I'm a Jaguars fan who is in full support of signing him but their main fan group (Bold City Brigade) is staunchly opposed.

Why would you want Tebow when you already have the American sex-bomb as your now backup?

Well thank heavens. Not sure what Khan, Caldwell, and Bradley, would do without their guidance.

Declare Blaine Gabbert their starter? Who fully half of this internet forum knew would be garbage well before he was ever drafted?

Combine profile notwithstanding, he's easily one of the worst human beings at playing quarterback I've ever seen. He's so athletic coaches keep putting him on the field, but he's just a terrible football player and he's only as good as you can be when you're 6'4" and have a strong arm and run a 4.6 forty but lack any natural feel for the game whatsoever.

At this point, they have no chance of competing this season. I'd sign Tim Tebow and let him do whatever he wants. Just line him up in the shotgun like they did in Florida and run option plays for the rest of the season. Tebow is the anti-Gabbert.

(Tebow with MJD and Denard Robinson in the backfield would be super interesting... just saying. They could try out some crazy **** and they've got nothing to lose.)

The argument I always hear from Jaguars fans is that if they bring Tebow in, they might be stuck with him. They are bascially saying (although they would NEVER admit it) that Tebow would be an upgrade. But they are praising the front office for looking for the future.

But in my opinion, that is stupid. GMs and coaches need to think about winning now because next season isn't guaranteed, especially if you go 1-15 and get the first pick. And what if Teddy Bridgewater implodes like Geno last year? Or doesn't declare. They are stuck with **** one and **** two for another year and they almost certainly lose their jobs.

Meh, what is the difference? I'd sign him to draw some fans in. They're going to be atrocious this year anyway.

People want to criticize Tebow, but in my opinion, his bad numbers were more a part of John Fox refusing to implement the right offense. In the first half, it was 75% run. The only time they passed was in third-and-long situations. So if you only get to pass when the defense knows you are passing, of course your numbers are going to suck.

Then look at his numbers late in games. In game winning drives, he had a 130+ passer rating. What was the difference? The Broncos ran a more fast paced spread offense. The same kind he ran since high school. The same kind many teams (including Jacksonville at points in the preseason). Why not run some of that early in the game? Why run a ridiculously conservative offense rather than one that actually fits your QB?

If Jacksonville signed him and ran an offense more geared to his abilities (again, they ran it some in the preseason) their offense would be much better. And after watching them the first two games, only a fool would think they would be worse off with him tan Gabbert/Henne.

Elway and Fox were never on board with Tebow. They let him be successful enough so that the fans were happy, but they would not let him take the Broncos all the way because they didn't want to be stuck with him.

Tebow was going to be traded or released if Manning went to Denver or not.

Amen brother.

#1- Jacksonville is so pathetic that Tebow probably wouldn't even want to go there. Nobody should. That team is a disgrace.

#2- Again, Tebow accomplished more in his one season starting in Denver than Jacksonville has in a long time.

#3- Let's remember two names: Gabbert & Henne. They have both had way more chances to play that Tebow. Like Tebow, they threw the ball horribly. But unlike Tebow, they didn't make any big plays with their legs (and heart) to move the ball late and get wins late.

#4- Henne was great at Michigan.
Gabbert has golden locks.

#5- Can we move the Jaguars to London already?

Tebow is an atrocious QB, but so is Henne and Gabbert. That team just looks down right god awful. I honestly feel like they could go 0-16. If they can lure some fans in with Tebow, why not? Be terrible, get some fans, draft Teddy, ?????, profit.

I just dont even feel like responding to the people who are trying to, in any shape or form, defend Tebow because at this point its apparent you'd rather just believe what you want to believe without watching him play and plug your ears whenever anyone who has tells you how bad he is.

Tebow's being terrible at football doesn't change how entertaining watching him fail at it is.

I totally agree. Even though I think Tebow is an abysmal QB, I thought this gif was rather amusing.

Going back a bit further from the graphic above, the previous two Heisman Trophy winning QBs to Andre Ware were Doug Flutie and Vinny Testaverde.

Flutie lost both of his playoff starts some 12 years apart, which must be some sort of record. They were on 3rd Jan 1987 with Chicago and 2nd Jan 1999 for Buffalo.

Testaverde was 2-3 as a starter in playoff games - 1-1 with Cleveland and 1-2 with the N.Y Jets.

That is unbelievable!

And Carson Palmer NEVER winning a single playoff game seems impossible as good as that Bengals team was getting around 2005, 2006....

All Hail Tebow.... Maybe Peyton Manning will get a Denver playoff win this season, if he's still healthy in 3 1/2 months, and they don't again choke.

They don't want to luck themselves out of Taj Boyd or Teddy Bridgewater by having Tebow come in and accidentally win games.
