Default Too Early 2014 Mock

So much will change between now and the draft as far as round projections and team needs. I will give my quick three round mock draft that I know will change 100 times between now and the draft.

1st Round - Justin Gilbert (CB/Oklahome St.)- I didn't think CB was a big need until Leon Hall went down with an injury. He isn't getting any younger and will be coming off his second major injury in the last few years. Newman is playing solid but can't possibly have much left in the tank at his age (along with being injured currently). Kirkpatrick still hasn't proven he can cover or tackle in the NFL and is also injury prone. Pacman is always a night out away from not playing again. Gilbert or Dennard are both really good cover corners with playmaking ability. Would love either guy here. LB seemed to be a need before the season but honestly with Vinnie Rey emerging while Mauluaga was hurt I think we will have a solid LB corp next year with Burfict, Rey, Harrison, Mauluaga, Lamur, Porter, Schaffer, Dimanche, and Mays as an extra option on passing downs. I could see us adding another LB through the draft but not in the 1st round.

2nd Round - Jack Mewhort (OT/Ohio St.) - I think Whitworth will be best served moving to Left Guard for the rest of his career. He is still a solid OT but his best position is inside at Guard and he isn't getting any younger. I would love to re-sign Anthony Collins but he may play his way out of our price range here down the stretch. Mewhort is a very talented OT that is only going to improve.

3rd Round - Jackson Jeffcoat (DE/Texas) - Being undersized for a DE is what drops this guys value. When a player has great output and tons of talent I think that should matter more than size in the NFL (Geno Atkins was considered undersized for DT also). I think this guy could be an Elvis Dumervil type of player in this league and would be an absolute steal in the 3rd round.

You stole my first two round picks in my upcoming mock so I will hold off on doing another one until after the bowl games. Good job of course since I was going with the same approach.
