glad to know I wasn't the only one who hates him more then anyone associated w/ the NFL today. The way he turned every Aaron Hernandez article into a shot at Ray Lewis was just unethical and kind of disturbing

Literally how far he reaches to make these kind of "jokes" (idk what else to call them) is ridiculous to me. Theyre terrible and almost always irrelevant too. Guy is a clown that needs to get punched in the face.

It wouldn't create more stops in the game if they only review a penalty if a coach challenges it. A team would still be limited to two challenges plus a bonus challenge (for going 2-for-2 on reversals).

...as well as 12 men on the field...
Which penalties besides 12 men is reviewable? Facemask pulling and horsecollaring maybe? I know that "running out of and back in bounds to catch a ball" is reviewable, but I can't remember if that's a penalty or if it just nullifies a completion. I should be better with rules.

It would absolutely create more stops in the game. If you make something eligible for review that wasn't before, you give yourself more challengable opportunities. Teams hardly ever use both challenges anymore now that scoring and turnovers are reviewed and Lovie Smith is no longer a head coach.

I haven't seen this mentioned, but Drew Brees needs 38 yards to pass Warren Moon and move into 5th on the all-time yardage list. He'll only be behind Favre, Manning, Marino, and Elway (Brees should pass Elway next season, assuming that he's healthy and playing).

That guy isn't too bad at this football thing.

The opening act of the FOX/NBC national doubleheader is interesting. The Cowboys are always a coin flip as to which games they will win, and the Giants have gone from 0-6 to 4-6.

The main event could come down to which offense runs the ball better. The Broncos and Patriots both have underrated running games, due to their superstar quarterbacks and today's NFL being so pass oriented. It now looks like Wes Welker will play after all, but he still needs official concussion clearance.

But he's too short to play QB.

He's tall enough for RB, but probably too slow. I guess we need to send him to the CFL.

So is Russell Wilson. It's a good thing Brees and Wilson didn't listen to the draft analysts, or they would have given up and gotten jobs at Wendy's or Beef-a-Roo.

It's hard to say, with (semi) new ownership anything can happen. Tommy Smith could come from Bud Adams tight wallet school of thought and with Munch under contract through 2014, he may decide just to keep him. He also may have some type of loyalty to the old Titans that he watched when he was younger (and Munch was a player).

It's hard to say. It may just come out to how he finishes the season, I know many Titans fans would like him gone (or step down as head coach and go back to O-Line, which is highly unlikely). Even his biggest supporters are thinking it's time to move on.

The only thing I can think saves him is winning 5 or the next 6 games and/or making the playoffs, both highly unlikely

And Locker has already been banged up these last two seasons and missed a lot of time. I wonder how short his leash is becoming. Maybe he gets two more seasons to produce?

Falcons shocking the Saints tonight would be splendid. I think they cover the 9 at least. Look-ahead angle and this is the Falcons Super Bowl.

It could come down to the wire, but losing a home game to Jacksonville doesn't exactly give him leverage {LOL}. If Lovie Smith can get fired after going 10-6, then a lot of coaches are not completely safe.

This will make me the Richie Incognito of this board, but I think Mike Florio is sort of funny. The guy I can't stand is Pete Prisco of cbssports. He is a wanna-be sex groupie for the Patriots, and he has as much football knowledge as a forum troll who wears complete body/face paint to a game (in Prisco's case, Patriot blue and silver).

vidae, what does that facial icon mean? I'm guessing it's for "mild amusement".

I could see us giving both Locker and Munch the 2014 to prove they are capable. For Locker, that means stay healthy and produce. He was producing rather well this season, but you can't make an investment on a guy who can't stay on the field.

Locker is under contract for 2014 and then the club has an option for 2015, this option is for around 15m and under any circumstance it's highly unlikely the Titans would use this option. If he does well it would likely be an Alex Smith type extension until he proves he's worthy of a larger contract.

Whether Munch is coach or not in 2014 Locker should be there as the starter, or at the minimum as part of a QB competition. In 2015 it's anyone's guess really.

The icon videa used is the njx, which is basically an eyeroll.

I actually like Prisco. Fans hate him but he actually really knows his stuff. I remember listening to him in Jacksonville almost 10-years ago and him talking about how the rule changes are going to make having a franchise QB vastly more important than anything else and the decreasing importance of the running back. He was saying all of this well before most everyone else.

The worst I ever saw was when the Ravens went to the white house and he said "someone wanted the team to wear all white suits but Ray couldnt find his." It was a pathetic attempt to take a shot at someone he hates for whatever reason and it hurts his sites credibility in my biased opinion.

That's actually pretty funny, if it was a lone shot. But it sounds like he takes repeated jabs.

That guy isn't too bad at this football thing.
Shame that every time he is a legit MVP contender, someone has some monsterly stupid season or something.

It seems like even though the top QB is statistically someone different, in the years the Saints are good, Brees is always second. Over his span with the Saints, he's probably the most consistently in the top 2 QB seasons... never 1st at the right time though, lol.

Unlike most Saints fans, I do feel he gets his due though.

I just can't anymore with these pregame shows. I just can't do it.

"The D-Line swallows up the pocket like Scooby snacks" was what I just heard as soon as I turned on the TV.

I'm done. I'm gonna finish watching this instead: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=liTbYYPVWXY

If only football were discussed on football pregame shows.
