You know, sometimes I contemplate doing a 1 round mock draft for April Fool's Day that just consists of every team drafting a QB with every pick unless they have multiple first rounders; because if you have a shot at that franchise quarterback, you can't pass it up.

I really hope that's not what the NFL draft is going to become.

I think Tampa would be making a mistake if they didn't get one. I wouldn't want Earthworm Jim being my franchise quarterback.

I would love this. The more qbs go in round 1 the better for teams who don't need one.

I hope every team who drafts before the Giants takes a qb.

Not going to happen. Never does and this year there aren't but about 3 or 4 guys who would warrant going in the first round never mind top 7.

I think Tampa Bay would stick with Glennon unless for some reason they end up with the first or second pick. St. Louis the same.

Hahahaha.......no I mean if each of those teams had the #1 pick. I don't think 6 quarterbacks will go in the top 7 picks.

Gordon (if we remove off the field stuff). I think he is more consistent.

I think Tampa would be pretty dumb to give up on Glennon after this year. he has been very good and winning three of four (and almost beating Seattle) is impressive. I think he has done more than enough to earn another year.

Now, if they get the number one pick that changes things. But right now they are behind Houston, Jacksonville, St. Louis, and Atlanta. That means Tampa is in line to get the third QB (maybe). You taking Zach Mettenberger in the top-five?

Houston- Clowney
Atlanta - Barr
Jacksonville - Bridgewater
St Louis - Matthews
Minnesota - Carr
Tampa Bay- Watkins
I think people severely are overestimating this QB class...

Also, BBD's hate for Bradford is kind of hilarious...
60% completion, 1600 yards, 14 TD's and 4 INT's this year before he got hurt.
Basically on pace for 3800 yards, 30 TD's and 8 INT's.
And this was when Austin wasn't getting the offense, it was completely out of sync. Clemens hasn't even come close to being as good as Bradford was.

I don't see the Rams giving up on Bradford just yet.

Josh Gordon has 1250 yards in 10 games, with Brandon Weeden as his QB for the majority of that time. Think about that for a second.

Wow I did not know he already accumulated that many yards. Imagine what he'd be doing with Tom Brady or Drew Brees.

I said this yesterday, but remember when the browns were offering Gordon for a 2nd round pick, and no one bit on it? Especially when he is still on his rookie contract. Jesus, I wanted to jump on that.

How do we know for sure that the Browns were offering a second round pick? I thought that was just a rumor. If it was a second round pick someone probably would have pulled the trigger even with his legal issues.

And this was when Austin wasn't getting the offense, it was completely out of sync. Clemens hasn't even come close to being as good as Bradford was.

I don't see the Rams giving up on Bradford just yet.
And he had a sparkling 6.4 yards per attempt, which is good for 33rd in the league. He is pretty much a younger, worse Alex Smith who will be the 6th highest paid QB in the league next year.

Seeing that hurts. Dallas put a bid on him in the supplemental draft that ended up being second only to the Browns.

Dez on one side. Gordon on the other. Nightmares for everyone! :D

The question with Bradford, and what it was with the Chiefs and Alex Smith, and what it is for any team that doesn't have Peyton Manning or Tom Brady:

What's the alternative?

Let's say for argument's sake they get the 6th pick from the Skins and both Bridgewater and let's say Mariota go in the top 5.

And the Rams personnel guys don't like any other QBs.

Then what?

...

...

You stick with the guy who can play, even though he's not Drew Brees.

Well you should at least bring in some competition for Bradford. You don't have to take a quarterback that high in hopes that he'll replace Bradford or push him for playing time. And replacing Bradford wouldn't be that difficult. There will probably be a veteran or two this offseason that will be an upgrade by default. Schaub would be better even.

This same idea floats around Jets fans heads. That there are somehow worthwhile QBs available somewhere. Veterans, or something. There aren't. EDIT: If you're saying Jay Cutler is available then by all means do what you have to to get him. But the reason teams stick with Bradford's and Alex Smith's is because the alternatives are far worse.

You better believe Schaub is going to be sought after hard this offseason. There just aren't enough QBs to go around.

If I love a first-round QB there at my spot - I'm taking him no question. But it's just as likely that that ideal world doesn't materialize, especially in a year where almost 10 teams need QBs.

Not cutting Bradford to save a few million and still have a huge cap hit wouldn't preclude me from drafting a QB I like in a cost-effective situation in the 2nd or 3rd. I'll do whatever it takes to find a QB who can play. But I'm not spending a first-round pick on a guy I think will be Geno Smith and jettisoning an average QB just because I'm upset I don't have Drew Brees. It doesn't make any sense.

You know that between themselves, Jason Campbell, Brandon Weeden and Brian Hoyer have thrown for 3,279 yards to Brady's 3,267 yards, right?

It wouldn't change his stats all that much. Defense would game plan more against the pass, fewer garbage time opportunities, etc.
