Here is part of the texts that Jameis sent his dad after getting the crab legs incident

The ACC will follow the SEC's lead and stick with 8 conference games and 1 mandatory OOC game against a Power 5 school. With the relationship with Notre Dame, it makes much more sense for the ACC to stick with 8 than it did the SEC.

Interesting that the 2 conferences that have won MNCs since 2005 have one model, the rest another.

Oh christ. Even worse than the Tennessees and South Carolinas of the world touting SEC superiority because of what Bama and LSU have done...you're going to act like the ACC is right there with the SEC?

Well in the BCS era the ACC had more MNCs than the Big 10, Pac 12, and Big East, and as many as the Big 12.

I think the point of his post was that just because a conference produces a national champion, doesn't mean it's a strong conference as a whole.

Which is that the B1G hangs on to in order to avoid admitting they're the bottom dog in the Power 5.

Everybody can have their own opinion about that, but I personally find it hard to believe 4 conferences are better. I guess if National Championships is your only criteria they would be at the bottom, but I don't necessarily feel that's the best indication of overall conference strength.

We're clearly both biased for our own conferences, so it's a useless argument.

Well we could look at NFL Draft picks the past few years, in which the SEC and ACC are number 1 and 2.

If my math is right, the B1G is 4th ahead of the Big 12 in the past 5 years. However B12 teams can actually beat top SEC teams, not lose by 40.

I'll post this again. Not sure who you are trying to convince that the B1G is bad...

The perceived strength of conferences doesn't matter anyway. It changes basically every year with the exception of the SEC being seen as #1.

What exactly did he do that should prevent him from getting college jobs? Lie about players who got extra benefits.....like every other coach does?

The guy cares about young people and loves to educate/improve lives. I'd say that's a perfect role for him.

No, Florida State did. As a Florida State fan I'd think you would be touting that instead of stupid conference superiority.

My point, though, was that your phrasing made it seem like the ACC and SEC dominated the BCS era. I could say the Big10 and SEC combined for 10 BCS titles and be misleading as hell, too. Florida State won one in the beginning and the last one.....and the ACC didn't do jack squat in between. It was usually a pillow fight between the Big East and the ACC to see who was the worst conference.

Youngstown State was put on probation while he was there as a head coach and was as dirty of a program as you'd find in D1-AA. Not to mention he doesn't have nearly the educational background generally required to be a president at a university.

Ohhhh noooooo! Football probation for things that were never linked to him! His team didn't follow stupid NCAA rules! He's the devil.

He has plenty of educational background...especially with what he's been doing since leaving Ohio State.

Look at what all of his supposed warts are and boil them down to their most basic level. He helped his kids and tried to keep them out of trouble for something as ******** as getting discounted tattoos. The spin job that ESPN and SI has done to make the average CFB fan hate the man is remarkable.

Tressel is the man. Deal with it. Great human being and great football coach. The list of great things he's done outweigh the one thing he got caught doing wrong (which, by the way, was to protect other people he cared about). But that's opening up a giant can of worms on this board I suppose, so let's not get into that today.

Also, a Florida State fan calling another school's program dirty? Pot/Kettle situation if you ask me.

It would depend if football were to ever get a Title IX exemption. By September it appears likely the Power 5 conferences will have much, much more autonomy and from there may seek to get football declared exempt from Title IX. If that was done, the rule would need to cover all of CFB (at least at the FBS level) but could be only for football.

As it is the NCAA carves out loopholes for Ice Hockey (Canadian Juniors doesn't count towards eligibility, though it would if it was Football, Baseball, or Basketball) and Skiing (players can have endorsements). So declaring players can play 5 years in football to reduce injuries wouldn't run afoul of the other sports.

Jameis really needs to chill.

He doesn't know it yet but I bet if he has one more high profile incident at FSU, Jimbo is gonna suspend and/or kick him off the team.

Winston is BMOC on campus, but he isn't the entire FSU football program. He can't act like he's the only great player who's ever suited up for the Seminoles.

If Jimbo is pushed into a corner, he's going to protect the program over any one player.

Your Heisman winning QB can't be accused of rape AND be found guilty of shoplifting. If it was any other player I bet Fisher would've suspended them.

At that point Jameis probably won't be a first rounder if he has to play for a lower level program.

I just have this sinking feeling the next shoe to drop for Winston will be his punching some frat boy at a campus bar, and we'll all have witnessed the greatest rise and fall of any college football star in recent memory.

I still can't believe after he skated on the rape charges, he was involved in a shoplifting incident 4 months later.

That's the warning sign of someone who just doesn't get it.

Charlie Ward and EJ Manuel really need to have a weekend intervention with this kid.
Those dudes NEVER even sniffed trouble at FSU.
