Default 3 Rounder Pre-Combine

Next best part after the Super Bowl , Combine and the Draft. ----{Giants my Team}--

As always, I appreciate input from you guys and your favorite teams.

Round 1

1. Houston - Teddy Bridgewater (QB- Louisville)

Keeping with the same for Houston, Teddy should be the #1 pick and will help turn around a team with still some good players on it.

2. St. Louis - from Washington (3-13) - Sammy Watkins (WR- Clemson)

Trying not to be too vanilla in this mock.. Watkins upside is too hard to pass up. While the idea of Clowney or Matthews would be nice, A skilled possession wide receiver might be just the right fit for the Rams.

3. Jacksonville (4-12)- Blake Bortles (QB- UCF)

Again, Clowney would be tempting at this spot for the Jags. But when your team needs a quarterback, that becomes a more pressing need. Bortles looks the part, So give him the reigns.

4. Cleveland (4-12)- Johnny Manziel (QB- Texas A&M)

This just seems like it is bound to happen. Cleveland will be very smart by keeping both of their 1st round pick and holding firm at both those spots.. Adding more much needed offense talent should be the game plan for the Browns early on draft day.

5. Oakland (4-12)- Jadevon Clowney (DE-South Carolina)

A merge between Best player available and Need... A quarterback may be on the Raiders needs list too, But with Clowney still on the Board, The Raiders can afford to wait until a later round.

6. Atlanta (4-12)- Jake Matthews (OT- Texas A&M)

Adding Weapons and Protection for Matt Ryan would be my priority for them early in the Draft.. But I could understand if the Falcons wanted a Defensive stud like Mack or Barr.

7. Tampa Bay (4-12)- Khalil Mack (OLB- Buffalo)

Defense will be the way to go. Fortunately , that happens to be Lovie's forte.

8. Minnesota (5-10-1)- Anthony Barr (OLB-UCLA)

The Vikings could go in a few directions at this pick, Maybe the younger Carr?
I would seem to think that Coach Zimmer will take a defensive player as his first pick as a coach. So Barr makes the most sense to me

9. Buffalo (6-10)- Greg Robinson (OT-Auburn)

Offense all the way in the 1st. Then give Kiko another linebacker to player with and that defense will be fun to watch.

10. Detroit (7-9)- Mike Evans (WR- Texas A&M)

I was tempted to mock Dennard for the Lions, But it might be too hard for the Lions to pass on a big target WR, Seeing as how they are a pass happy team.

11. Tennessee (7-9)- C.J Mosley (LB - Alabama)

A solid defender with potential flexibility to play multiple linebacker spots , would be helpful in the transitioning of the Titans Defense

12. New York Giants (7-9)- Eric Ebron (TE- UNC)

For my Giants, I would give help to the offensive side of the ball first.. Whether that player is Ebron, Lewan or Kouandijo those players could help immediately.. That said, If Khalil Mack or Justin Gilbert were the pick, I would also be very Happy.

13. St. Louis (7-9)- HaHa Clinton-Dix (FS- Alabama)

Could go a few ways at this pick too for the Rams. But , If the Rams take the right players early in this draft, They might have a chance to make things interesting in the NFC West with the Cardinals playing spoiler roles to the 49ers and Seahawks.

14. Chicago (8-8)- Justin Gilbert (CB-Oklahoma St)

His upside as a return specialist alone would make him a first rounder , But include the fact that he is a legit 6'0" and that will only help his stock.

15. Pittsburgh (8-8)- Darqueze Dennard (CB - Michigan St)

I was thinking that Offensive line or Wide Receiver could also be the pick .. But my logic would be to help the aging secondary and add some new young blood to it. Plenty of depth for Offensive lineman and Wr's later.

16. Dallas (8-8)- Louis Nix (DT- Notre Dame)

Adding some beef in the defensive trenches will be one of the first issues addressed for the Cowboys.

17. Baltimore (8-8)- Taylor Lewan (OT - Michigan)

I think that many Ravens fans probably want Ebron if he is still on the board.. But too much of a ceiling , will make it very hard unless a trade happens. Next best option to me would be adding some more weapons on the offense , whichever position they may play.. (Lewan, Lee, Kelvin Benjamin or Cyrus K)

18. New York Jets (8-8)- Marquise Lee (WR- USC)

Offensive weapons will be a priority early for the Jets.. This Trojan will be a play-maker for years to come in New york.

19. Miami (8-8)- Zach Martin (OT/G – Notre Dame)

This would be the wrong person to bully.. Along with the fact that Martin could potentially play two spots on the line, Zach would greatly help the improvement of the not just the line, But chemistry and as a leader in the locker room.

20. Arizona (10-6)- Derek Carr (QB- Fresno St)

I still think this pick makes sense. Carr stock should be set as a 1st rounder , So its just a matter of who takes him.
Otherwise, I would Mock Cyrus Kouandijo to help with developing the O-line.

21. Green Bay (8-7-1)- Calvin Pryor (S- Louisville)

Unless the Packers take a TE in the 1st, I think that the pick will probably be focused on a defensive player.
Originally , I did not think that 2 safeties would get drafted in the 1st. But Pryor could make an immediate impact on the secondary of the Packers and he has the tools of a 1st round pick, So I stand corrected.

22. Philadelphia (10-6)- Kelvin Benjamin (WR – FSU)

Sticking to what I have said earlier about Chip Kelly: I know nothing.
Best player available is still my best guess for the Eagles

23. Kansas City (11-5)- Jace Amaro (TE- Texas Tech)

Same summary more or less as last time.. Adding another big physical target in the passing game is never a bad thing.. Defensive players in the next few rounds , I would assume.

24. Cincinnati (11-5)- Cyrus Kouandjio (OT - Alabama)

Again, more help for Andy Dalton , can only help his progression to develop as a legit franchise QB

25. San Diego (9-7)- Cyril Richardson (OG- Baylor)

Not too much change here either.. A massive run blocker would be an added asset for the Chargers new and improved offense

26. Cleveland - from Indianapolis (11-5)- David Yankey (G -Stanford)

A extremely intelligent man , that also happens to be a stout football player. A 8year starter, Is his worst case scenario. His upside is enormous.

27. New Orleans (11-5)- Stephon Tuitt (DE/DT – Notre Dame)

Another player that can help Cameron Jordan would be the best way to go. The Saints defense will only get better from this year, That is scary.

28. Carolina (12-4)- Austin Seferian-Jenkins (TE-Washington)

A tall pass catcher for Cam will help his development as a passer.

29. New England (12-4)- RaShede Hageman (DT- Minnesota)

A run stuffer or a Tight End, I am torn.. But I am pretty sure one of those two will be the pick.
Helpful thought?

30. San Francisco (12-4)- Jason Verrett (CB– TCU)

A younger corner , and a safety are on the list too.. Then another wide receiver and the 49ers will be good to go , Again.

31. Denver (13-3)- Ryan Shazier (OLB– Ohio St)

While a corner back is on their list too.. Shazier offers ability is pass rushing situations makes him a nice option here.

32. Seattle (13-3)- Kony Ealy (DE- Missouri)
Hard to pick many holes out with them.. So best guess would be a defensive player and add to their strengths.

Round 2

1. Houston (2-14)- Trent Murphy (DE/OLB-Stanford)
2. Washington (3-13)- Jordan Matthews (WR- Vanderbilt)
3. Cleveland (4-12)- Odell Beckham Jr. (WR- LSU)
4. Oakland (4-12)- Timmy Jernigan (DT - Florida State)
5. Atlanta (4-12)- Travis Swanson (C/G - Arkansas)
6. Tampa Bay (4-12)- Antonio Richardson (OT- Tennessee)
7. Jacksonville (4-12)- Kyle Van Noy (OLB- BYU)
8. Minnesota (5-10-1)- Gabe Jackson (G- Miss St)
9. Buffalo (6-10)- Troy Niklas (TE-Notre Dame)
10. Tennessee (7-9)- Morgan Moses (OT- Virginia)

30. San Francisco (12-4)- Weston Richburg (C/G - Colorado State)
31. Denver (13-3)- Pierre Desir (CB- Lindenwood)
32. Seattle (13-3)- Martavis Bryant (WR- Clemson)

I like rounds 1 & 2 for the Vikes, but dislike Boyd in the 3rd, maybe Christian jones there instead? Also, the Vikings have Seattle's 3rd round pick (harvin trade)

Don't see Kouandjio being a LT in the NFL will strictly be a RT and the Bengals need a LT if Collins bolts in FA. Reilly is ok in the 2nd. Bengals have no need to take another RB high. They took 2 last year in Benard and Burkhead and they still have Peerman and BJGE under contract.

I really dislike that draft for the Ravens. Two tackles definitely aren't a need and if the slim chance of Monroe not being re-signed happens Oher will almost definitely be brought back. There might be a good chance of Osemele being kicked back out to right tackle in Kubiak's system so tackle probably won't be a need at all. Guard and center still would be though. As for Richardson he's a pretty good value pick at that point but not even close to the type of receiver I'd bet Baltimore is looking for.

For the Browns:

I like our draft outside of Manziel, just tired of the rumors. You also have us double dipping RBs in the 3rd. We'd be better served taken Skov with our 2nd 3rd rounder with your board.

Cyrus, Xavier Su'a-Filo and Christian Jones instead for Miami. Not sold Martin is a long-term starting LT and just not a HUGE fan of Steen. Also, a good blitzing linebacker remains a more pressing need than RB for us. The offensive line was more of a problem last year than Lamar Miller was.

No,your right .. I also messed up your Ravens.. Yeah assuming the Ravens took an OT in the 1st, Maybe a TE like C.J Feidorowicz or one of the better Wide Receivers that remain in the 2nd..
- Thanks for the feedback

Again, Yeah my bad.. Will correct that next time..

Love the Saints 2nd pick, but the first isn't a big of need because we have two stud DE's, Gallette and Victor Butler coming back (Rob Ryan is big on him). ASF, or a CB, even Jordan Matthews would be worth it there knowing what we got in the 2nd.

Nice 1st round pick for SF but that was the only pick I liked. (2) interior O-lineman, (1) MLB and (0) WR's? We have a couple MLB's already, maybe you have heard of them?

Yeah , Probably not best to give you guys 2 Interior lineman, One of those pick should have been a Wide Receiver ..

I know one has a broken leg..

If nothing else Christian Jones's ability to play Weak-side and Strong-side on the Defense surely could help ease the blow.. I don't know, Great value in the 3rd though.

I agree. I'm not a fan of Boyd as a prospect at all, but QB is a huge need. Other than that, the rest of the picks are excellent.

I most definitely wouldn't complain about adding Christian Jones at that value.

Bowman may miss significant time in 2014. Wilhoite is a solid backup and Nick Moody is unproven. Adding an impressive athlete for competition is very likely and Jones is a great option.

First fan of the Cardinals I have heard from..

It doesn't make too much sense for me to have mock two Running backs back-to-back for you guys. That will be updated next time..

You know what, screw it.

Keep both RBs in the 3rd, Give us best Inside linebacker (if one is worthy on your board) or best OG or RT for Zone blocking scheme (since we got Shanahan) with our very first pick and don't even worry about a QB at all. Bring back the days of Mack and Byner for us.

That's at least something us Older Browns fans can get excited about.

Thanks, I appreciate it..
--- Yeah I'm Only 25, So I did have to google those two gentleman. But can't knock that production between those 2 rbs. Must have been fun watching them during those seasons. On top of actual physical football. Kind of like we saw Sunday night !

---But between the Browns and St. Louis,, You can really benefit with those extra 1st rounders be it whoever you take, they can and will make an instant impact.

And while the AFC North always is a grind, There really is no clear cut favorite in that
division.. No reason why the Browns cant take that Division Title this year.

-- I like parity in the NFL, So I always like watching the teams that have been Mediocre at best , Turn it around and start anew.

The 49ers have the second round pick of the Chiefs, not the second and third. And adding a TE when Kelce is coming back from an injury makes little sense.

For full disclosure , I used Bleacher Reports Updated Draft order and Copy and Pasted that.

-Fair enough.. But again, Alex Smith was at his best in San Francisco with 2 TE packages with Vernon Davis and Delanie Walker.

But maybe a Safety or Wide Receiver instead next time.
