Default Laurent Duvernay Tardif, OT, McGill

Did anyone hear much about him from the Shrine Bowl game?

6'5 315 OT from Canada who is ranked the #1 player in the country. He started as a 250 DL and has bulked up to 315 in 4 years. Was a team MVP as an OL while being named the top academic player in Canada with a perfect 4.0 who is in pre Med. Impressive resume including first team all canadian last 2 years.

Any idea where this guy gets drafted? I was thinking he would be a solid pick from rounds 5-6

Yesssss! my boy! He dominated at the shrine bowl.

I actually think he can be a serviceable guy in the NFL. I would pick him between round 5 and 7.

Russ Lande called him a Top10 tackle in the Draft and a third rounder on the Ross Tucker Podcast.

Pretty easy to see why he is attracting so much attention.

Laurent had his pro day today :

5.08 40
32 vertical
9'6" broad
34 reps
4.59 short shuttle
7.3 3 cones

Very similar to Lewan's numbers.

http://m.cfl.ca/article/duvernay-tar...tracts-a-crowd

He's getting drafted. (And not just in the CFL...)

And now we know why Ray Farmer was not at Manziel's Pro day ;)

Not to hijack the thread but there is really no excuse for Farmer not to be at Manziel's workout. Heck old man Bush was there and he's got one foot in the grave.

Should mention that 9 NFL teams attended his workout, I suspect he will be drafted in the round 5-7 range.

I've been singing LDT's praises for a while now. Got him as a fringe mid-to-late rounder.

He's been featured on the main page, been a guest on the podcast, etc.

What other offensive lineman in the late rounds offers his talent, versatility and upside?

Dude just blasted his pro-day, over a dozen NFL teams in attendance. Reports have him at 34 reps, 32 inch vert, 9'6 broad and under 5 in the 40. Needless to say your mid-late round prediction may end up being a little light Scott.

I highly doubt that many NFL teams would travel that far north to watch one guy if they weren't supremely interested.

He's brining light to CIS football with already a handful of former players playing in the NFL.

Looks like his stock is rising - potential 2nd/3rd rounder?

Because of the level of competition he probably only can go so high but late 2nd doesn't look out of the question at all. Looks like a young Joe Staley to me.

Was thinking along the lines of Veldheer myself - probably a similar level of competition in Canada that Veldheer faced in DII.

As a CIS athlete the competition isn't that bad! I swear! I think eventually pro scouts will attempt to tap more into the talent of the north. I have a teammate for example (a receiver) who can throw up 225 on the bench 31 times, runs a 4.49, and is a pretty good player to boot. I'm pretty sure he must be on steroids but that's besides the point. Obviously I'm biased in this matter but there are good players and athletes up here.

Give it 3-5 years and it will be a regular occurrence for CIS athletes to get DRAFTED in the NFL. When the NCAA started outlawing Junior & CEGEP players and knocking eligibility off for playing a lot of really talented guys decided not to go the NCAA route (why play 2 years when you can play 5?). There's also starting to be more and more money with operation budgets in the CIS (there's a hand ful of teams that have budgets equal or larger than some D1aa teams).
