That makes me really happy.
Although after six months of listening to frances, i fell in love with it.

6 months? That sounds like you were brainwashed to think you love it.

nuh uh.
it's mostly just omar wailing on his guitar with jon theodore kicking ass on drums.
the album is scary, transcendent, bombastic, and at least for me, the perfect sing along album while driving. the only fault is that it has no direct focus. and if that's a a fault, i don't know what the point of expermental music is. sure, i agree that there may be too much ambience. but, unlike other albums of the genre in recent memory that have plugged it in (i.e. the sound of animals fighting - tiger and the duke) this doesn't suck.
i think you're all just hating.
and i bet you all hate cassandra gemini the most.
because obviously it's the best example of what the album does in an explosive way.

The only thing I don't like about Frances the Mute is the 4:00 ambient noises that lead up to "Miranda..." which were unnecessary. I wasn't too fond of the spanglish lyrics either.

I was hoping they'd do something like that, since they got Ronin to produce their records, and he is VNV Nation(same type of dance/techno music with singing, who also kick ass), their stuff turned out pretty sweet.

yeah synth pop is awesome, i guess it's also gothic darkwave, but whatever you call it, i like it a lot. i was hoping for a side project as well because what they did on decemberunderground. 37mm is my favorite AFI song, and it sounds similar to what's on the blaqk audio album.

man. the spanglish was perfect. it keeps things unintelligible and unaccessible.
l'via l'viaquaz is their best track to date (closely followed by day of baphomets and tetragrammaton) because seriously, if you want a girl to shake her ass, play that song.
I DO agree that the four minutes of ambient noise coulda been cut to two. I'm sure omar and cedric have reasons though.
they're probably the best band ever who did way too many opieods.

Just got back from the Rage concert at Alpine Valley. Best experience of my life. My friends and I traveled 11 hours and spent a couple hundred bucks to see them but it was totally worth it. Rage played an amazing show, my words really can't do them justice but all I can say is that it was one of those shows where the audience was totally unified by the performance. It rained for a solid hour before Queens of the Stone age took the stage so the normally grassy slope at Alpine Valley was muddy as hell, which was both fun and terrifying. Before Rage took the stage the lawn crowd made a massive surge towards the seated section of the amphitheater and down the muddy slopes. I'm ******* amazed that I didn't slip and get trampled because others did. But all was good once Rage finally took the stage and owned the show. The great thing about them is that they sound just as amazing live as they do on their records. I'm telling you, if you have the opportunity to see them on this reunion tour it is a must see!

igneous rocks are much stronger than sedimentary rocks. they are also formed by a much cooler geological process.

I was there too. Can't believe how long it took to get parked, at least twice as long as any other show I've ever seen there. It had pretty much rained for a solid week before there show, the place was torn up.
Anyhow, in terms of the show, Rage is just one of those bands that reaches whole new levels when performing live. Easily the most intense set I've ever heard. Agree 100% that if you get a chance to see them, do it.

regardless, small venue, so if you go, get there early because the 21+ section just isn't all that big.

i might be on the floor then.
if i can't see in the 21+ i might as well be bumping shoulders with little kids and be like, wtf? you're too young/old to be here.

Parking wasn't too bad for us, but then again we did get there when the gates opened.
I keep wondering what the DMB fans thought after seeing that place the night after Rage was done. I mean, we were ripping out barriers and clusters of seats...it was insane.

oh there's a few.
i introduced them all by my old school punk rock mix-tape ways.
and those ways were like how we did it back when we actually didn't all have CD players, Cell Phones, Facebook and Online-Chinese Food Ordering...

My brother has a buddy who went to the DMB show on Saturday...waiting to hear from him about what shape Alpine was in. It looked totally trashed after Rage though. I'm sure they did their best fixing the barriers and seats, but it'll be next spring before they can even hope to have any grass back on the hill. Forget lawn seats for the rest of the year.
I live only about 35 miles from there, and it was literally 3 hours from when I pulled out of my driveway until the time I finally got to my seat. Those idiots were trying to make everyone park in the main lot instead of opening up the auxilary lots right away. Didn't take long at all once they finally opened green lot.
