Washington vs Illinois
The real game. So far this will easily be the best game of the tourney. Two uptempo teams, expect 80 + by each team. I'll take Washington (5) over Illinois (4) by the final score.. of.. 91-87!
Who you got son? Oh by the way, Brandon Roy is gonna get a triple double.

I love Roy. I think he is real nasty from what I've seen of him. I still voted for Illinois though. Dee Brown and Augustine are very good tournament players and I give Illi the edge in tournament experience and coaching. Should be a close and good game though.

Well, since I had Illinois going to the Sweet 16, I guess I'll stick with that. Should be a very good matchup, though.

I will take Illinois since I am a fan, I hope that Jamar Smith can stay hot from 3-point land.

I like Illinois in that match up. If Smith can stay on fire, then Augustine and Randle will get some good looks in the paint when they go to press him. Also the way Dee Brown runs the floor always makes them a threat. He has great vision.

I'm sticking with my Illini, especially with the way the bench played last night.

I'll take the Illini. Dee Brown is amazing.

My pick should be obvious. I think that it will be the best game today, unless you count the Zags getting upset. I think that Augustine will play a big role in the outcome. I look forward to watching B Roy and D Brown.

You don't know Brandon Roy? Huh.
Anyway, I think Washington should take it since they have the deeper bench (half of what killed them last year, the other half being 4-foul Nate The Great). I don't particularly like Augustine against Williams or Brockman. But I'm going to love seeing Dentmon on Brown. Hopefully the Huskies pull it out.

I'm afraid that Justin is going to have a very humbling experience against a much more experienced and offensive minded Dee Brown

Should be a great game. It'll be interesting to see how Webber matches up against Roy. Is he gonna put Brian Randle on him? I think Randle could contain him if that's the direction they go...

Who else does Washington have besides Brandon Roy? I mean he's the only guy people have been talking about for the Huskies. I haven't heard much about Washington this year besides Roy....
Illinois will stick their best defender and one of the best defenders in the Big 10 Brian Randle on Roy. He's extremely long and a freak of nature athletically. Illinois is DEEP, they have 2 or 3 players who can come off the bench and not lose a step (Smith, Carter, Frazier). Smith is a flat out scorer, any questions about his ability to score, see the Air Force game on Thursday. Warren Carter has underachieved all season, he's got the length and the ability, he just never put it together but he played very well on Thursday as well. Frazier brings a tough, hard nosed style of play. He's phsyical and he's a great defender. He can give a team an emotional lift off the bench.
I've said this all year, if Illinois can hit on all cylinders, they are one of the top 5 teams in the nation. If Dee has his shooting eye, Augustine stays out of foul trouble, McBride his his open jumpers, and the bench plays like it did on Thursday, then we could be in for a real treat today.
But all of this is "if." The Illini have yet to put good back-to-back games together all season, so hopefully they'll get off the schnide and do it today.

None of our players are as big as Roy has come to be, but Jamaal Williams is a fantastic player. And, they're starting to bring him up off the bench, which has seemed to motivate him. Fantastic post player. John Brockman pre-season was slated to possibly be RoTY. He's a very good post player as well, but also a better defender than Williams. Then there's Ryan Appleby who transfered from UF. Can't do much else except for shoot the three, but he's good at doing it. Justin Dentmon is just about an inexperienced Dee Brown. Bobby Jones is another one of our Seniors that carries this team. Great all-around player. There's this one guy... but for some reason, I can't remember his name. Bleach blonde hair though. He's a Power Forward, but he can stroke it from long range. And then there are several Freshman that hardly get any playing time, but some of them are very underrated.
So my biggest problem is with Augustine, since we don't have anyone that physically matches up to him. Then it'd obviously be Brown, but hopefully Dentmon ups his game.

Jensen has been struggling on D in my opinion. See the Wheel play that USU ran to Harris three times. I think that Jamal will take some minutes from him a lot today. One person who I think needs to really up his game today is Joel Smith. He's got a lot of potential, but isn't getting the time to work it up. Plus, I live right next to him.
