Weddle?
Okay so I was thinking, since we need defensive back help, and we want a character guy... why not Weddle? I mean he's versitatile, he's talented (held CJ to 2 rec. for 19 yds) and he's a character guy...
Any chance we get him?

I would like to get him in the second if Merriweather is off the board.

A lot of mocks and big boards I've seen have Weddle falling to the mid/late 3rd Round. If we landed him at #66 overall, it would be awesome.

I'd like Weddle as well but I think my ideal first 3 rounds would be:
1st: Trade down (pick up 2nd rounder) for PWillis
2nd: B. Merriweather
2nd: Tony Ugoh
3rd: Josh Beekman
I know this isnt a lot of peoples ideal first 3 rounds, but if you look at it, you get the beast in Willis, a solid S in Merriweather (although not a character guy), and an infusion of young talent on the O-line.
I do agree QB needs to be taken care of, but I think there will be decent prosepcts available in next years draft (Kitna is servicable this year and probably next as well). Some of those prospects include Brohm, Chad Henne, and Colt Brennan.
To each his own I guess

That's my dream First 2 Rounds.. outside of Ugoh and Beekman.. I'd rather take Abiamiri or a CB with the other Round 2.. and then in Round 3 take either a DE/CB, whichever we didn't take in Round 2.

I could live with this scenario, however I expect the "character issue" surrounding Merriweather might keep Millen and Marinelli away (overblown though it may be).

so just replace Weddle for Merriweather and you got a great draft. if we go Defense with frist 4 picks, I will be highly delighted, and might even scream loud enough for anyone in MI to hear me from NC.
