I would love Landry, but I am not sure he will be there. Secondly; I want the O-Line to be the priority. In this case, Atlanta drafts two ideal power lineman, for their transition into a power scheme.

This is my Dream Board:
(Trade up with Detroit to get #2, for J. Webster, #8,and #44 and 2008 3rd)
1st: Calvin Johnson (WR)
2nd: Brandon Meriweather (FS)
3rd: Tim Crowder (DE)
4th: Manny Ramirez (OG)
4th: Kenny Scott (CB/S)
4th: Mason Crosby (K)
5th: Jon Abbate (ILB)
6th: Danny Ware (RB)
7th: Dustin Fry (C)
If we keep #8, I can see:
1st: Adrian Peterson
2nd: Brandon Meriweather
2nd: Charles Johnson
3rd: T. UGOH
4th: Manny Ramirez
4th: Kenny Scott
4th: Mason Krosby
5th: Jon Abbate
6th: Rhema Mcknight
7th: Dustin Fry

Reason: Mistake: Had Peterson and Michael Bush in the same draft. should have been T. Ugoh in the 3rd.

Peterson AND Bush. That's what I call overkill.
I like Shiver's general plan, but would change a little:
1. Levi Brown (or Joe Thomas if very very lucky)
2a. Jarvis moss (falling, apparently; CJ or Spencer if not)
2b. Eric Weddle (or possibly Tanard Jackson)
3. Michael Bush
4. Best available interior O-line and D-line.

I saw on a mock that we could get both Blalock and Sears in the 2nd round. I never said i was high on it.
I'd much rather have
1st round: LaRon Landry
2nd round: Anthony Spencer
2nd round: Justin Blalock
3rd round: Michael Bush
4th round: Kenny Scott

I think a few of us are starting to get a similiar mindset as to what we want come draft day now. i think a pass rusher at DE to play 3rd downs and replace abe when he goes down and Moss is even better as he has the frame to add weight after a season of situational play
anyway here is mine
1. Levi Brown (or Joe Thomas if very very lucky)
2a. Brendan Merriweather certain he will be there, character will scare teams (or possibly Reggie Nelson talk of him falling)
2b. Jarvis moss apparantly falling (or Anthony Spencer if not)
3. Manuel Remirez OG or (M Bush)
4a Kolby Smith HB (or if we take Bush at 3rd, pray Remirez falls)
4b Anthony Arline CB
4c Kyle Young OC

Why does everyone think were are going to get Kenny Scott. Has you all heard anything I havent. I know has major character problems, lacks work ethic, and he isnt consistent. Like his measurables and potential though. Falcon Filter will take him off the board.

shiv, IMO you should sticky a "final ideal/mock draft thread" in the next few days or maybe rename this one?

1.) Adrian Peterson - RB - Oklahoma
2.) Reggie Nelson - FS - Florida
2.) Charles Johnson - DE - UGA
3.) Manuel Ramirez - OG - forgot...
4.) Brandon Frye - OT - Virginia Tech
4.) David Clowney - WR - Virginia Tech
4.) Courtney Brown - CB - Cal Poly SLO
I know it's a little high for Brown, but he's the CB I want, and to be honest, Beck and Gocong ended up going on the first day, he could end up as a 3rd rounder with his physical attributes. So I wouldn't say the 4th round is too much of a reach for him.

i like it, lots of hokies, my only switch (and its a recent mode of thought) is a pure pass rusher as the 2nd round DE Moss or Spencer, Chauncey is fine on 1st and 2nd down V the run and with Moss i could see him at 265+ plus after the effect of his illness finally wears off.
Also gimmie your view on Frye? what makes him to you what Joe Staley is to me (my favourite lineman)

New coaches. Same owner and GM. And it is Blank who is most concerned with the Filter. Remember, McKay took Sapp at TB.
I'm sure the Filter is still in place, but I expect that Blank relies on McKay to enforce it. So, if McKay reassures Blank that someone with apparent issues (eg. Meriweather) is actually ok, then Blank would sign off on it.
The new rules, and the Vick and Babs sagas of this offseason, will make them doubly careful, I should imagine.

I like all of the picks generally, but we need more of an impact DE pass-rusher. If Abe goes down again, we will have zero pass-rush. And even a healthy Abe would have double or even triple teams.
If we get Levi, then we don't need an OG in the 2nd. Levi would compete with Gandy to start at LT, and the loser of that battle would compete with Fonoti at LG (and probably win). I'd still take an OG in the 3rd or 4th, but we could use the other 2nd for a pass-rusher. In fact, OG's in the 3rd and 4th can often be starting material straight away.

I honestly believe it could work in reverse for us. The coaches saw that vick was vindicated by everyone for the water bottle incident and im sure they themselves bought into the fact that he was guilty, i bet once he was cleared they might have a higher tolerance for supposed bad character guys as they know how things get get blown out of proportion and(in vicks case) be completly fabricated.
eg with Merriweathers shooting he might be able to explain that in a way where it seems rational to act like that and be understood by the FO, making the brawl the only blemish on an otherwise perfect resume for what the falcons need

Scott's Answer:
Up for Landry = 35%
Up for CJ = 10%
Trade Down = 40%
Stand Pat = 80%

Ideally (and realistic if some reports that I read are true):
8 - OT Joe Thomas
39 - S Brandon Merriweather (my source says he cleared the character evaluation)
44 - DE Charles Johnson
75 - RB Michael Bush
109 - K Mason Crosby
121 - LB Rory Johnson
133 - LB Tony Taylor
149 - DB Courtney Brown
185 - C/G Kyle Young
244 - DT Louis Leonard
this would make our depth chart like this:
QB - Michael Vick/Joey Harrington/DJ Shockley
RB - Jerious Norwood/Michael Bush
FB - Ovie Mughelli/Corey McIntyre
WRX - Michael Jenkins/Brian Finneran/Fred Gibson
WRZ - Roddy White/Joe Horn/Adam Jennings
TE - Alge Crumpler/Dwayne Blakely/Daniel Fells
LT - Joe Thomas/Wayne Gandy
LG - Toniu Fonoti/Tyson Clabo
C - Tod McClure/Kyle Young
RG - Kynan Forney/Quinn Ojinnaka
RT - Todd Weiner/Frank Omiyale
LE - Charles Johnson/Chauncey Davis
NT - Grady Jackson/Louis Leonard/Darrell Shropshire/TJ Jackson
UT - Rod Coleman/John Babineaux
RE - John Abraham/Paul Carrington
WLB - Demorrio Williams/Rory Johnson/Marcus Wilkins
MLB - Keith Brooking/Jordan Beck
SLB - Michael Boley/Tony Taylor
LCB - DeAngelo Hall/Louis Sanders/Jason Webster
RCB - Jimmy Williams/Courtney Brown/Allen Rossum
FS - Brandon Merriweather/Courtney Brown/Chris Crocker
SS - Lawyer Milloy/Chris Crocker
K - Mason Crosby
P - Michael Koenen
KOS - Michael Koenen
KR - Allen Rossum/Courtney Brown
PR - Allen Rossum/Courtney Brown
LS - Boone Stutz

I can't see us getting Thomas at #8. Even if Arizona pass, someone will try to trade up for him ahead of us. We'd need to trade up with either ARI or WAS. Hopefully we could do so without paying too much.

Two Linebackers? Are you kidding? That draft wouldn't make me happy at all to be honest. I would be so up and down with that draft.
