What Fuzzy Ghopher said pretty much sums it up, I thought he lost to Carwin and the fight should have been stopped, if it was anyone other than Brock it probably would have been. Bock showed a ton of heart coming back out and getting the submission and thats awesome, but this was coming. Still feel like Brock is a product of the UFC hype machine and it showed tonight. In fairness to him I did not think he would make it past Carwin and I was flat out wrong, I still think he has a ton of room for growth, like Fuzzy Gopher said when he gets punched in the face he just turtles up. He's not what he was made out to be by Dana White and Joe Rogan and Co., not yet anyway.

If anything, this fight just showed Lesner's inexperience. He did a good job battling back against Carwin, but the biggest thing that needs improvement is his defense. Part of his inexperience is what to do when he gets in trouble.

Brock should have pulled the F5 and then he would have won.

Is Bones vs Bader confirmed? I really don't want to see that. Won't be good for Bader's career and again not exactly a "top notch win" for Jones. Bones vs the Winner of Rampage+Machida and Bader against Hamill just makes so much sense for me.

The fight against Carwin should not have been stopped. He defended when the ref got close to stopping it, and he got to his feet under his own power at the end of the round. He took an ass beating, but he was still in there.
I think he was a little too hyped by some, but he's still one of the most dangerous heavyweights out there because he's a strong grappler. The only reason why he looked bad against Carwin and Cain was because they are good wrestlers in their own right. They could defend the takedown and exploit his standup. I don't know of too many other heavyweights who could do that. Hell he got Cain to the ground twice, and that's incredibly difficult to do. He's exceptionally gifted in a crucial area, and he fights in a weak division. He'll probably beat someone like Kongo, and he'll challenge for the title again next year.

no way they waste a Lesnar card on Kongo
JDS vs Cain for the title needs to happen then Lesnar vs the winner

You can't really say a fight should have been stopped when the guy absorbs the punishment and comes back to win in dominant fashion.

Kongo is an easy sell against Lesnar. He's built enough to look like a threat. He's got a decent enough name too so if Lesnar beat him it wouldn't be like Lesnar beat a complete scrub. It's also a favorable matchup since Kongo doesn't have much takedown defense.

It's fighting. Look unbeatable for long enough than show a chink in the armor and make one bad mistake in your next fight and people will turn on you super fast. For further evidence see my favorite fighter, Lyoto Machida.

I have been looking, did Brock get any sort of injury from that punch? Against Carwin, he was fighting back, this time I thought it looked like maybe he knew that punch did some serious damage.

That knee to the body by Cain is what did the damage IMO. What's this about Brock verbally submitting? True or not?

Dana White said he thought he heard him say stop and a few Camera men said that same thing. No one has really confirmed it though.

Brock's next fight should be against Big Country. Big Country is a threat on the feet and not the kind of guy you can just throw around. He's also a great threat off his back. And even though he lost to Schaub Gonzaga could be a nice comeback fight for Brock. And if Gonzaga actually shows up he can pose a small threat to Brock. I have a gut feelilng though that they may be setting up a Mir/Lesnar part 3.

Lyoto is your favorite fighter? HA! He sucks dude! He has no chin at all. He even got knocked out by the pillow fisted Shogun, and he hasn't finished a fight since I can remember so he obviously has to suck. I don't even know how he became champion at all. I bet that even a scrub like the old Tito could handle him. He'd probably beat him by triangle or something.

Big Country would be a good opponent, but he's fighting Carwin at 125. I figure they'd want to get Brock back around that same time, so maybe that's when they'll set up Mir/Lesnar 3. I don't want to see that though. Give him Gonzaga, Kongo, Schaub, hell I'd even take McSweeney rather than Mir right now.

^^ Hah it's not like he beat a Jitz guy or a boxer, he beat a better wrestler. But yeah I love guys like Cain. He really hasn't even used his wrestling that much in most of his fights. He's really evolved into one of the most skiled MMA guys out there.

I highly doubt they give Brock anyone who poses a real legit threat outside of Mir. Even though they cant market him as baddest man on the plant anymore, he still looks the part and is probly still their biggest cash cow. Him with 2 straight losses is bad for the bottom line. They're probly gonna give him someone easier and then give him the rematch.

Yeah I guess Kongo and Schaub make sense as opponents as they will be billed as "lethal strikers." Although I don't see how you pit him against Kongo who defenitely lost against Travis Browne. Mitrione could be another opponent but his name isn't big enough to draw a Brock match.

You gotta give Lesnar Brendan Schaub. It makes the most sense, win win for the UFC no matter the outcome. Schaub is pretty well known from his Ultimate Fighter days, billed as a tough athlete football player, but shouldn't be too big a challenge to the cash cow that is Lesnar for the UFC. If he wins though, then Schaub is a very marketable guy.

Lesnar Kongo would be a nice fight that he could win pretty handily, the alternatives are Gonzaga (snore) or Mir, everyone else is kind of booked, Barry is injured, Crocop is dead and no one else is recognizable at all.
