He is ******* relentless.

I just hate Fitch's style, doesn't even try to advance position and really is doing little damage at all. He can beat everyone at 170 but has no chance against GSP. Look how BJ took Fitch down twice. Man hopefully we never see a Fitch and Shields fight.

That work rate in the third round was incredible. He didn't slow down at all. He was landing tough shots too. A lot of guys might have crumbled under that kind of beating.

First round B.J 10-9. Fitch 10-8 3rd. Really 2nd round is a tossup but I'd lean towards Fitch 10-9 although it could have been a draw round or even a BJ round.

Doesn't really matter. GSP has already beaten both of them either way. Although Fitch may have earned another shot I guess.

You can definitely argue Penn first two rounds since Fitch didn't get any damage till the end of the 2nd and Penn took his back and took him down both rounds and was more active in the clinch.

I loved when Henderson got that extra shot on him when he was already KO'ed.

Poor Fitch. He just can't catch a break. You know that Dana is going to use this against him for a title shot. "Well you got a draw when you were promise that title shot. You'll have to win 8 more fights to be considered for a title shot now."
I think he should have won since he did more damage and control in the second. BJ's sub attempt was significant, but it was reversed into better offense for Fitch. No rematches please. BJ should fight someone like Alves, Rumble, or Condit while Fitch gets Dong Hyun Kim or hopefully Shields no matter what happens in Toronto.

I got to be honest, maybe its just because I am a big fitch fan, but I think that if you replace the name fitch with any other name and this fight wasn't that boring. There were moments when they were pressed against hte cage that werent exciting, but there was some impressive displays of bjj in the first two rounds and relentless gnp in the third. I think Fitch just suffers from his lack of power in his hands.

The thing is guys like GSP and Shields are constantly looking to advance position and attempt submissions. Fitch because of his insane cardio can keep busy in full guard without ever seriously endangering his opponent. I'll give that he had some damage on BJ although BJ is too small for WW, but having 9 straight decisions doesn't sit well with fans.

Shields is just as bad if not worse than Fitch...I like watching Fitch...but Shields...he puts everyone to sleep with his fights.

I'll give you the Kamp fight was horrible and the Hendo fight after the first round, and part of the Mayhem fight, but he's finished guys like Mike Pyle, Robbie Lawler, Paul Daley and Nick Thompson.

Just got back from the card. Had a lot of fun. Some good prelims too. Plus I'm a big fan of Bisping and he might be a major jerk, but I still love his intensity.

Shields uses his grappling to finish people. Fitch just uses it to grind out wins. Fitch hasn't finished a fight in 4 years. He's just ******* boring. Shields is boring if you don't like/understand/appreciate grappling or appreciate a guy who's been so successful when his only tools are his cardio and grappling.
The Kamp fight was a result of the weight cut. The Hendo fight was good, but Hendo is nearly impossible to finish. The Mayhem fight was a great fight in which Mayhem's defensive grappling was on showcase.

I gotta give B.J. some props for last night. He gave Fitch the hardest fight in a long time, and that means something when you consider the caliber of Fitch. He looked devastated after the fight, so I was wondering if he was thinking of retiring before the fight. If he wants to keep fighting then I would be glad. He's still got a ton left, and it's no shame getting handled in the the third round to a cardio monster like Fitch.
On another hand, how great is Frankie Edgar? B.J. was stuffing Fitch's takedowns and doing really well in the clinch game, but Edgar just slammed the **** out of him, nullified all of his offense on the ground, and throw some nice ground and pound on him.
