WOOHOO MARYLAND! I hope that, god willing, Miami makes it, they play Maryland in Tampa!

Well DHB is probably gone. He has no reason to stay through another year of crappy QB play which will only hurt his stock. If I'm his agent I tell him bolt now. Even if he is just a second rounder he'll make the money up down the road.

I agree 100%. Especially with a rookie cap on the horizon. You can almost make more money as a high second rounder than you would as a 1st rounder at that point

Maryland DC Chris Cosh left to go back to Kansas State where he'll be the DC for the Wildcats. I think he's making this move in preparation to replace Bill Snyder and a few years
Maryland hires UMass head coach Don Brown to be their new DC. I don't know much about him to be honest. I wonder if he'll keep the same system in place.

BTW not sure if you all heard this but Josh Portis transferred out. Another year of Turner, sigh.

Turner is not high profile but he was effective... Portis never did anything while he was given chances... keep going after a blue chip QB. We need to try and keep the local talent we lose to PSU and VT.
Anyone see that we have Joe Montana's kid on our radar?? He has UMD as one of his choices. Funny he has the same knock on him that his father had when he played.. Size 6'1 180lbs
I am excited about Danny O'Brien QB recruit from North Carolina. When you watch him on film he looks like a QB. Good footwork, great release, and looks calm and collected. He actually looks a bit like *gasp* Tom Brady on tape. QB OF THE FUTURE!

Well it would be nice to have a great QB at UMD... Montana's kid seems like he is getting interest from a bunch of schools not just UMD now. Hopefully we can get him, wouldn't that be a great recruiting tool !!

He had is official visit with KU and apparently had a great time. I expect him to go there but wouldn't be surprise if he went to St Johns to be the big man on campus, while still staying close to home.
Only edge we have is that Padgett is signed on to play here next year and him and Stephenson are close. He also apparently had a great time when he went to the Terps/Canes game so theres another glimmer of hope. Maybe the bad publicity Gary has been getting lately lights a spark under his ass to go hard after Stephenson, but it probably won't.
On a non-Stephenson note, has anyone been following our commit Jordan Williams? The dude has been tearing up the Connecticut basketball scene (which isn't much of a scene) but the dude is a monster, he could be our starting C as a freshman. Here are some of his statlines from the season: : 43 points, 15 rebounds, 7 blocks, 6 steals; 41 points, 22 rebounds; 50 points, 25 rebounds; 41 points, 18 rebounds, 10 blocks. 42, 16, and 6, those are impressive games no matter the level of competition.
heres a couple of vids of him:
Who needs a backboard anyway?
BTW Heyward Bey's tearing up the combines like Terps fans knew he would, only problem is he's probably working his way out of our range, I really wanted him to be a Raven :/
It was good to see UMD play strong against Duke last night. Mosley looked pretty good his shot just wasn't falling. Bowie looked ok as well. Just wish we could get a commitment from Lance Stephenson!!!!

Well he has dropped UCLA from his list, and the new rumor is that SJU is also out of the running, so if that is true than it is just Kansas, Maryland, and I believe Wake Forrest left in the running. My money is still on Kansas though.
My guess for his order of preference would be:
1. Kansas
2. Maryland
3. Wake
4. SJU
I don't know I heard too he supposedly isn't really looking into SJ but honestly for this kid it makes the most sense. He wants to be the star taking all the shots, and for a Brooklyn kid it's got to be a dream putting up 30+ shots every night in Madison Square Garden.
