OK... Now that Frig is clearly on his way out and my first choice for a replacement Mike Leach is rumored to be on the short list of replacements...

What does everyone thing about the potential to bring a wide open and explosive offense to UMD?

Plus with Franklin leaving and he offered so many assistants spots at Vandy we are shorthanded vs East Carolina... do we still win our bowl game?

he damn well better be staying. kid is the best qb weve had at md in a long time. i think he'll lose torrey but i dont think itll slow him down too much. especially in a mike leach offense if thats who takes over.

I think O'Brien is going to be a legit pro prospect. The only thing that would worry me if i was a maryland fan is that he would transfer because Leach's offense has no track record of putting QBs in the pros. Im not saying O'Brien cannot overcome that because he does look like a very good pro prospect but the stigma of Leach's spread offense might really hurt his draft status.

Well its going to be Edsall's team and NOT leach... I think O'Brien will be hanging around then. We need Torrey Smith to come back though..

Tate is far more important to stay. Torrey no doubt is a monster but the receivers in place are good enough to supplement the run game. Like what I see in Dorsey and Tyler should be back.

Yes but having Torrey and Tate.. will make our running game more effective. I don't know of a true stud RB that we have, not saying we don't have one just saying I don't know who that might be. We could be opening the doors for the 1st high powered passing attack in Terps History if we have two stud WR's and we always have a good TE to throw to..

Highly unlikely though. He already graduated and with a new coach coming in and a transitional period he really has no reason to stay other than this being a deep WR class and the lockout uncertainty.

Funny because UVA has a sick ass recruiting class despite being garbage for a long time. I guess Mike London is a coach who appeals to players more.

Edsall is a nice guy but he doesn't have much fire, kind of meh, his recruting classses will be just meh from here on out.

I think we are sleeping on what Edsall brings to UMD. He WANTED to be here... do you really think Leach would have had that much loyalty? The bigger programs out there are waiting on a school like Maryland to take a chance and see what he does before they invest in him. Leach knows that and what does that do for us then? We are back out looking for a new coach.

Edsall brings a sense of pride to the program of WANTING to be at UMD. Give him a year before we start making him seem like the axis of evil. He was very gracious towards Ralph and has respect for the school. He runs a pro style offense and has put players in the NFL from a start up program at UConn. So he will mesh well with our current roster and be able to recruit locally as he already has been tapped into the HS Coaches in Maryland and DC just needs to work on the Va side of things. Before he left UConn he had signed one of the most underrated FS prospects in the country from Baltimore. The kid didn't come to UMD after he was released from his Commitment because he didn't want to play in the ACC NOT because of Edsall so he went to the Big Ten to play for Joe Pa...Edsall will recruit wait and see

huge, biggest prospect to sign in as long as I can remember, plus opens up the Good Counsell pipeline which is huge because they produce studs. Our 3 top recruits all are GC players (Diggs 5*, RB Wess Brown 4*, and OT Mike Madaras 4*)
