Based on Thule's Roster, the following don't play / suite up on Sunday IMHO.
1) Nick Folk
2) Junior Glymph
3) Courtney Brown or Q Butler (pick 1 -- I say Butler)
4) Keith Davis
5) Tony Curtis
6) James Marten or Doug Free (pick 1 -- I say Free)
7) Isaiah Stanback
8) Oliver Hoyt or Deon Anderson (pick 1 -- I say Anderson)
9) Tyson Thompson or Miles Austin (pick 1 -- I say Thompson)
This gets us to 45. 5 of our 2007 picks are on this list.

Polite doesn't have the lead blocking skills to make it as a FB...from what we know about JG it really doesn't look like he has a chance. He played decent at TE last year when asked...but with the removal of the 2 TE set I just can't buy it.

Thule, you have Marten over Free? Interesting. I like to see that you have Stanback active though. :)

I'm a Romosexual, you have free getting cut? No way. And guys, to be honest, I think Stanback will stay on the team over Sam Hurd. The team really like Stanback. He has to much talent to just throw away. I actually think he can be a good QB as well. Just develop the kid. He has everything you look for. At worst he will be a great slot WR.

I didn't exactly mean it like that...I just meant that he wasn't set up to be a full time FB in a scheme with a 2 back set. I think that is the main reason Hoyte moved over...why else would you start Hoyte over Polite...Hoyte didn't have the hands or the speed of Polite...But between Polite getting cut and Hoyte being switch to a completely different position...I just don't buy polite as a every down FB.

Stanback is making my current active day roster because Austin is not on the active roster. Personally I think they are interchangable...whoever can contribure more will obviously play. Stanback needs to really show up in the return game imo.

I take a different approach. Who are the guys that are flat out staying? As in, they have almost no chance of getting cut, barring a wild set of developments. That, imo, would be:
QB: Romo, Johnson
RB: Jones, Barber
WR: TO, Glen, Crayton, Miles
TE: Witten, Fasano
T: Adams, McQuistan, Colombo, Free
G: Kosier, Davis, Marten
C: Gurode, Proctor
total O: 19
DE: Spears, Canty, Hatcher, Ratliff
NT: Ferguson
OLB: Ware, Ellis, Spencer, Carpenter, Burnett
ILB: James, Ayodele
CB: Newman, Henry....maybe Glen
S: Roy, Watkins, Hamlin
Total D: 18
P: McBriar
K: ?
LS: Ladoceuor
total overal: 40
That leaves 13 roster spots for the following group to fight over:
Stanback, Hurd, Polite, Anderson, Moore, Hoyte(I think he will make it somewhere), Brown, Ball, Reeves, Jones, Folk, Berger, Thompson, Stanley, Glymph, Elam, Keith Davis, and any unnamed UDFA who might emerge.
Of that group, I think that Stanback, Hoyte, Hurd, Thompson, and Elam are near locks, and that Anderson, Brown and Moore are likely adds, so that leaves 5 more spots to be decided and take care of the number crunch. I won't make any predictions about the borderliners, because there are just bound to be some really surprising keepers and a few mind-boggling cuts.

Stanback a lock? I just don't get it. All this Stanback talk is ridiculous. Hyperbole and wishful thinking at its worst. I am about done with it. Moving on.

Yea I really don't get why everybody is making a big deal on Stanback. Stanback wasn't that good in College when he did actually line up at Wide out vs USC he didn't do anything and we would have our #3 or 4 CB on him. Plus, he broke his foot and had surgery. All of the 40s I've seen were before his injury.

When you have a tough, blazing fast WR with moves and can throw the ball 70 yards, you figure out a way to be creative on offense to make sure he gets playing time. I'm sorry, but the doubters, need to give the guy a chance before believing he's a failure... it's to the point where it affects your emotional feelings about the guy. Sheesh. Must suck to be you.

Actually, I said "near" lock because of the fact that he was a) an early 4th round pick, and management will only cut that kind of guy if he's a complete disaster in TC, ie Skyler Green last year, b) the FO is already slobbering all over his knob, and it would be emarrassing for them to do that now, and then cut his ass in August, and c) he is a guy that undeniably has a lot of talent, and the team will usually keep guys like that around for the long term potential, just like with Miles Austin last year.
Do I think he DESERVES to be a near lock? No, I don't. But the chances of him getting cut are slim to none.

Of course he will get a chance. Every poker player on a table has a chance. Some, however, more than others.
Let us wait till October. Regardless, I hope he makes it big. I hope every pick every year makes it big.
