Clinton was ideal for the ZBS, and I believe McFadden is too. I just hope we aren't that bad of a team this year to draft him.

I think there is no way we can go into next years draft not expecting to take either McFadden or Long. I think we will be a much improved team this year so I think that we absolutely need to trade up to 1 or 2 so we can take either one of those two.
McFadden last year was nothing short of amazing. He is the perfect zone blocking back. He hits the hole with speed and power and blows past the first 2 tiers of the defense like nothing. He showed he was one of the fastest players in college football last year when he flew right past LaRon Landry and never looked back.

Here is my take in the 08 draft.
1. Running Back ( Steve Slaton )
2. Free Safety
3. DE
4. CB
5. CB
6. DT
7. OLB

I'll ask this here:
Am I wrong to expect a lot out of Jacoby Jones this year?
And no Commie I'm not listening to your answer because I'm still not trading him to you. ;)

Don't expect huge numbers. He still is listed as the #3, although I think that will change quickly. But he will get the punt returns, get his fair share of catches and be in on some run plays.

Jason Babin got traded to the Seahawks for SS Michael Boulware....What do you guys think of that deal??
Kind of wish it was done a few years ago, but it seemed that Babin was stepping it up this preseason....I guess we need secondary help badly and this will obviously help alot...

I think this trade is awesome. Babin was already behind Super Mario and Weaver, plus Antwan Peek is pass rushing end also. He wasn't a huge necessity. Whereas Michael Boulware will allow for CC Brown to continue playing where he is comfotable at free safety, and is an upgrade anyway over Glen Earl. I really like the move.

Texans will have the best return unit this year by far, Jacoby and Jerome, its cheating IMO

Peek is in Cleveland (not a texan)

Earl is on IR, but needed to be replaced anyway.

Good trade for Houston. It should help their secondary big time

Texans clamied T Rashad Butler off waivers from the Panthers....Is this the same guy that people were talking about as a sleeper LT prospect 2 years ago that some thought could turn out to be a better pro than the then supposed top 10 pick Eric Winston? Hopefully he will live up to his potential and contribute

Yeah, he was a 3rd rounder for the Panthers along with James Anderson. Undersized but has good feet. This kind if scheme is one of the few he could make it in.

Herm Edwards says the Chiefs will not give Larry Johnson a full workload until he gets his legs under him. That's very good news. Much better to see Michael Bennett for 10 carries/Larry Johnson for 15 carries than Larry Johnson with 25 carries.

How bout, 10 Michael Bennet and 25 LJ. 25 for LJ is a light load for him.

Mario Williams did a great job. 2 sacks, FR for TD. I knew he would explode this season and show why he was picked over Reggie Bush.
I really like the connection between Schaub and Andre Johnson. It could be something special.
Ahman Green did a solid job.
Defense did a terrific job.

Good game. Very pleased with Mario, and Schaub was great aside from the play that he forced the throw and got an INT. Ahman looked good for only getting 15 or so carries. And TRAVIS JOHNSON actually showed up. Im excited.

Mario dominated today. The 2 sacks don't even telll the whole story - he was close to having at least two more.
That being said - I want see him do it again next week against Carolina. The Chiefs were starting a rookie tackle.

Yeah that was a sweet sweet game. But it was against the Chiefs and they are in bad shape this season. Our D still needs to get more pressure. Our O did play against a pretty good job against what I think to be a solid D. We need to get our running game going earlier, and if we do, we will be in very good shape.

I am really excited about the defense this year. I know it is only the first game but they seemed to really come together this game. Obviously with the Mario played, we can't expect that all season, but I honestly think this was a breakthrough game him and expecting a big year from him none the less.

Short of an amazing performance from either Adrian Wilson or Ray Lewis, Mario should be defensive player of the week.
Both of his sacks were very solid. He was doubled on both plays.

QB Damon Huard
(on if the Texans' defense surprised him) “They didn't blitz us a whole lot. They played a lot of man coverage, and they were able to stop us, which is impressive. If you can stop the run and make us a one-dimensional team, you're going to win the game.”

Respect us dammit!!
J/K, but on a serious note after this game with the Panthers we should get more respect we've put together a good string of games and have been much improved. I'm so excited about our team now!! Go Texans!! What a great game.
