Tough loss to take but the team will get its Mojo back these next few weeks. Hopefully Yates doesn't have another bad day.

I was worried about this game. I had a feeling we would be on the high horse after clinching the playoffs for the first time as well as not having Phillips on the sideline and not play to our potential.

I have been gone for a while, but I have to get on some of these comments. Please forgive my rant.
Mario can not be let go...
I know the defense has not suffered while he has been down. But YOU CAN NEVER HAVE TOO MANY PASS RUSHERS!!!!! Defense is now reliant on one thing-pass rushers. We have a few now. Trust me on this. We do not want to come up short in this department. I know Mario will be expensive. I know Brooks and Connor have been great. But to go without pass rushers will kill any defense. Save the money somewhere else. Not at pass rusher. This is a primo position, and there are not a ton of good pass rusher in the league. We have some good pass rushers. But we don't have too many! We can always use more pass rushers.
And for anyone that is worried about Yates last start-----you had to know this was gonna happen. He was a late round QB. He needs some time. This was bound to happen. Better now than in the playoffs.
I am excited!!!!!!!

Mario is going to want to be one of the highest paid defenders in the NFL. We HAVE to resign Foster. IMO Foster is a bigger priority.
John McClain called into the Mike Melzter show a week ago and said that the Texans will francise Mario and then let his agent work out a trade with another team, best idea...

Well, I was excited. Now I am nervous. Maybe the football gods hate the Texans. We have gone through 3 QB's??? Thats not fair, damn it!
On a side note, I was glad to see Harris get beat for a touchdown instead of Jackson. I am done with Jackson. I would rather see someone making less money go suck it up.
I might get crucified for saying this here, but I don't have a lot of faith that this team can do anything in the playoffs with the QB's we have. It is no one's fault, and I think the season was a successful one. But these QB's don't bring much to the table.

I wouldn't be too worried based on todays game, we did after all sit several players and put in a lot of backups near the end.
I think we've got a good shot in our first game. We're at home, and the news from the texans camp is saying Yates is likely to start against Cincy. We'll be going up against a rookie in his first playoff game in a tough environment, so anything is possible.
That being said we're gonna have a tough time in the next round. Our luck this year has been horrible, I honestly think we could contend with anyone if we still had Schaub.

We almost beat a team playing for a spot in the playoffs with all back ups and our 4th QB of the year. If that game would of gone to OT i think we win that game. I do agree with going for 2 and getting off the field.
As far as the playoffs go.. there is not a team in the AFC that scares me. I think we have a very good chance to go deep and who knows, we have the defense to get us to the superbowl...

I wish I had the same confidence. I really do. But I don't.
I do believe that with Schaub we would be a contender. But he is gone.
I think the opposing defenses will stack the line to stop the run. Then we will see a late round rookie quarter back starting in the playoffs. Which is exactly what Yates is.
I hope I am wrong.

Yay Texans!
:D :D :D :D :D
Now onto Baltimore. If good Flacco shows up, they win. If bad Flacco shows up, its a tossup.

Heck yes. :) I considered going to the game but ticket prices were outrageous. There is no recession in Houston.

Coming off injury the Texans have the advantage. I agree with Walker, you don't let Mario go. You franchise him you do it to sign an extension. Reed and Barwin played well, but they aren't Mario. Remember Reed getting trucked by Brown against the Colts. Remember a while back how Mario manhandled Jamal Lewis. Earlier this season Mario brought Big Ben down with one arm. Those are things you can't really replace. The man has been a force on a mediocre defense in the past. This season with a non-existent off-season we saw him starting to come on. If the man wants to get paid like one of the best defenders then he deserves it. Also his agent seems more reasonable than others, so I'm sure they can come to an agreement. My opinion on Mclame hasn't changed, screw him.
Foster is a high priority, but this is why Smith is getting paid. He has to find a way to keep the important pieces in place.
