Smoker makes sense in terms of talent, signability, and the lack of left-handed pitching in the system.

Have fun with all the arm problems you'll get with him.

Wow. I am not a fan of that pick. Savery is still recovering from an injury.

I was hoping Savery wouldn't be the pick. He has talent, but injury concerns. I am mollified because they have drafted pitchers with arm issues who have panned out (Myers, Madsen, and Hamels all had surgery before being selected).

Toronto appears to prefer spending big money on underachieving free agents rather than prospects...

The Brewers just talked to Baseball America, and they have already pencilled Matt LaPorta as a LF in their farm system.

It looks like that was a major reach but he is a gamer.

He was a reach, but he's the best middle infielder in the draft at a thin position. The Cards have basically no one in their farm system at 2B/SS, so they drafted for need. He was projected more as a sandwich pick.

I am tired of picks like these that translate to nothing. The Cards need to get their farm system under control.

They have a good player in Rasmus. It wasn't a horrendous reach, but Koz could have gone later. In all likelihood, he wasn't really lasting. If the Cards really liked him, they had to take him then or never get him.

Suprised Borbon didn't go ahead of him even though they were looking for a C.

Borbon is another Boras guy, and I think he's low-ceiling. I'm pretty certain Borbon will be a sandwich or second rounder.

Watch out for the Tigers looking at Porcello. All indications were that Alderson was their #1 target on their board.
