Our oline isnt THAT bad. There are certain players that will get the job done and there will be help for those who cant. The TE is going to stay in often and just chip. Dont worry about McCoy's pass blocking because I think we'll see more of Weaver pass blocking.

And you have Westy and McCoy to catch out of the backfield. And Celek.
If we don't have Boley or Canty for this game, I can see you guys winning rather handily.

Just thought I'd mention this...
When has there ever been a battle of two fans of NFC East opponents saying, "My team will lose because..." lol

This team has so much talent it is truly amazing when they put it all together. Shame is, that's not very often... I'm hoping for the best against the Giants, but I'm not super optimistic.
Speaking of the Giants, here's an entertaining video I saw the other day: http://www.theonion.com/content/vide...es_from_family

Interesting signing, I was hoping the eagles would draft him in the later rounds of the draft. Also being on the saints PS isn't necessarily a bad thing because they have good depth at RB. Probably won't see any time this year unless Westbrook has to sit out.

I have no idea who's going to win this game Sunday. It's going to be a very close matchup as we usually are. It's going to be interesting to see if we can get our offense going again after it's sputtered out a little. On defense I'm very worried about you guys just beating our safties all game. We are starting to try and hide C.C. Brown but if McNabb can find a Jackson or Maclin near him then watch out. Thomas and Webster are going to need to step up this game to help protect us from Brown.

I think if Reid can stay committed to the running game the eagles have a chance, and that's a big "if".

Yeah that's a huge if especially since Westbrook probably isn't going to play. I'm not sure if he trusts McCoy enough yet to give him a full workload.

Will Witherspoon is going to be VERY good in this defense, he is a quick, attacking linebacker who has a nose for the ball. The problem was that he wasn't big enough to take on blockers and with Mike Patterson, Brodrick Bunkley and Antonio Dixon in front of him, he doesn't have to take on blockers anymore. The guys in front of him allow him to flow to the ball and use his quickness. I can't wait to see this guy for the rest of the year.
Also Bunkley, Patterson and Dixon have been dominant (note no Trevor Laws) Bunkley is really on a roll, he dominated the Redskins line and he has really been great this season and he is playing a huge role in the run defense again this season and to add on to that, he is looking better rushing the passer as well. Mike Patterson is being Mike Patterson again, he is back to his 2007 form where he should've been a pro-bowler.
But the guy I really want to point out here is Antonio Dixon, you all remember him right? The big UDFA out of Miami who the Eagles snagged from the Redskins on cut day? Remember him? He was a guy who was considered an underachiever and he was, but the light is on now. Dixon has taken over Trevor Law's spot as the third defensive tackle and Dixon has shown himself to be a powerful option against the pass and run and multiple times the Eagles have lined him up directly over the center. Dixon has been downright dominant at times, specifically against the Buccaneers where he played extensively to take advantage of a weaker C in Sean Mahan. And he has been a great option against all the other teams as well. Major steal right now who is really a great addition to the defensive line rotation as a 6'3" 322 pound NT.
They're all going to have to play a good game against Brandon Jacobs, Ahmad Bradshaw and the interior of the Giants defensive line.

Sheldon Brown's job just got a little bit easier on Sunday, Mario Manningham hurt his shoulder in practice and is questionable for Sunday.
Also Brian Westbrook will probably miss the game, reports are that he still has headaches, Macho Harris has an injury and was a partial participant in practice on Thursday and was held out on Friday and Chris Clemons is sick.

Id imagine Brown would be on Smith more than Manningham/Nicks.
If we go Nicks and Smith, I think Brown would then go on Nicks, bc I don't think Samuels is strong enough to handle Nicks.
Im one of the few Manningham supporters out there, but until he shows me consistent hands, I rather have him as our #3 WR.
Regardless, with so many 3 WR sets being used these days, the difference between your #2 WR and #3 WR is negligible. The more important question is who lines up in the slot, which becomes Smith in 3 WR sets anyway.
So its all a moot point.

Just posted this in the "best DB in the NFC East" thread but I felt I wanted to post it here too.

Woooo!!!!!!! YEAH!
A dominating win against the Giants, 40-17! YEAH! WOO!
Everyone showed up to play today, that is what I expected to see all season a dominating defense, with a top 5 QB coupled with huge talent at the skill positions. McNabb finally showed up and at just the right time. And how about Leonard Weaver and Sean Jones? They played lights out today. Maclin and Jackson are already the best young receiving duo in the NFL IMO, they're so good.
Soo excited for the Cowboys game, we stomped them last season 44-6.

Eagles really took advantage of that safety situation of the giants. Also that Maclin TD against Webster was amazing.
I didn't get to see all of the game pretty much just 2 min warning part. But how did Sean Jones do, and Harris was out for the game.

Sean Jones did fantastic, was definitely better than Macho and I want him to get the call again, he blitzed and he hit hard and he did a good job in coverage, he was the closest thing to Dawkins yet. I was impressed with the way he brought the lumber all game and he did not back down from Brandon Jacobs at all.

BUT I still like Macho Harris. They are completely different safeties. Macho is better in coverage and Sean is better in run support. They bring different play styles to the table, but they're both physical. Macho is physical with receivers deep and Sean Jones is physical with everyone. Sean can stuff the run and is beaten in coverage and Macho isn't very stout against the run while he doesn't often get beat in coverage. Different players and I like them both, but I think that Jones physical style is more needed against the likes of Marion Barber, Tarshard Choice and Felix Jones.

Great game today, was a little bit surprised actually. Even tho the Giants are nicked up right now, I was expecting more from them. I think we'll find out they are just currently in a slump that they'll work out of soon.
Weaver's TD run made me unload in my pants... Was screaming WEEEEEEEEAVVVVVEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR throughout the duration of that run. This may sound drastic, but I am approaching scotty's love for Ray Rice with my man crush on Weaver...
Sean Jones did very well, not surprisingly, he is a starting calibur Safety, and showed it.
All around great performance today, and now with Herremans back, the OL looks much better, or at least more consistent. I am happy with the Eagles, pretty much the saving grace of my sports weekend.
