Nate Allen signed last night to a 4 year deal, hopefully he can get in to Lehigh by the afternoon practice, maybe even this morning. Hopefully these first rounders will start getting signed so we can get Graham in here soon, though I don't think he'll be in camp for around a week, unfortunately.

I can't see the team keeping 7 LBs, and I still think Gaither is the final one to go. So my only changes are removing Gaither from the LB corp (maybe Keenan Clayton gets IRed), and then at Tackle, having Peters and Dunlap and Justice and Tupou.

Howard is definitely the one I was most unsure about. I just figured usually at least 1 UDFA makes the team and not only was Howard supposedly the most impressive UDFA in minicamp, but backup tackle is definitely a position that's up for grabs. Dunlap or even Tupou probably have the upper hand there though. As for 7 LBs, the team kept 7 LBs last season and also had much less depth and youth with Witherspoon, Jordan, Trotter, Mays, Gocong, Fokou and Tracy White all on the team at one point if I remember correctly. I could definitely see them keeping those 7 guys I mentioned, especially since they all look to be able to play special teams.
On a different note, I'm glad I decided to keep Alex Hall off the roster because he was cut today to make room for Nate Allen.

I'm really not surprised to hear that about Hall, he just didn't fit in anywhere that I saw, at least not anywhere that we don't already have players capable of doing the same thing. That Sheldon trade keeps looking worse and worse for us though...

They did still get Trevard Lindley and Ernie Sims out of the deal. Granted they could both end up sucking as well but right now it looks like Sims is a better fit for the defense than Gocong and Lindley is a possible replacement for Brown. Obviously the latter is extremely optimistic and wishful thinking.

Good news that Allen's signed, I'm hoping Graham is soon to come. Saw the Alex Hall cut coming, we got peanuts for Sheldon from the Browns, but we made the best of what we got.

Well, McCourty signed, so we're inching closer, but it may still be a week or so away I'm afraid.

EATW, I'm planning on going to TC sometime in the next week but I have a few questions. What's the best time to show up in the morning to get a good spot and how much does it cost? I currently don't have a car so I'm probably just gonna have someone drop me off in the morning and pick me up after the afternoon practice, is there places to eat/hang out between those times? Thanks.

Next week's practices start at 8:15 in the morning, so getting out there around 7:15-7:30 would ensure you get a good spot, and even if you show up a little after that you can find good spots, whether it be along the fence or in the stands. If you are in a small group you could even get there shortly before it starts, honestly. There are three practice fields adjoining eachother, and there are signs up that tell you which fields the teams will be on most, but look for the cameras, those will give you a clue where the most important parts of the practices will be going on. Parking and admission is free, you only have to spend money on merchandise or food. You can bring food and drink, it would save you money, but if you don't feel like lugging around a cooler, soda is 3 dollars, water is 2, and they have a lemonade stand, but its ****** gritty lemonade, so I'd stay away from it. The chicken fingers are good, IDK what they cost though, probably about 7 bucks. There aren't really places to hang out, but you can sit pretty much anywhere near the parking lot or the area around the practice fields. They do let people tailgate, but (and IDK if it even matters) they don't allow alcohol. If you do bring a cooler, they will check it. Its also a smart idea to bring sunglasses or a hat, or both.

I'll check the date, but we have at least three weeks left, I think it goes until the 22nd, but I'll check.
Checked, it goes until August 17th... which is a Tuesday. IDK why I thought the 22nd.

Really glad Graham signed, I had a bad feeling he would be out for a while. Can't wait to watch him on Saturday.

I won't be at the morning practice tomorrow because I play in a flag football league every saturday, but I'll be at the afternoon practice tomorrow.

Me too, and me too, and me too. I honestly thought it'd be about a week. Needless to say, I'm pleasantly surprised, but I really shouldn't be surprised, especially with all we've read about him, he seems most likely to do whatever he could to convince his agent to get his ass to camp on time.

Hey guys, what's the best site or blog I can follow that has some good training camp observations for the Eagles? I always like to follow along with rival teams and see who is doing what, who looks good, etc.

philadelphiaeagles.com
BY FAR the best coverage you will find. You'll have to listen to Dave Sapdaro ( a lot of people don't like him) talking through most of it, but there is video coverage of the practices, interviews with players and coaches, all kinds of stuff. Its usually on live at noon during the days practices are open to the public, but there is a list of them somewhere on the Eagles site. I'll try to find it and give you a link then.

All of the Videos with "Training Camp Live!" in the title are of the actual practices", and some of the other ones deal with TC as well. But if you want practice footage, the Training Camp Live ones for each day are what you are looking for.

Eagles traded Joe Mays to DEN for JJ Arrington. I don't think Arrington makes the team but he has a better chance than Mays did.

Cole and Graham should be wicked good! Arrington should be able to compete for a job , imo.

Not only can Arrington compete, but the Eagles get a 6th rounder if Arrington doesn't make the team. Great trade for the Eagles.

I agree we made out like bandits in that trade. I thought Joe Mays had virtually no shot at making our team. I'm hesistant to hope on the Charles Scott bandwagon, but I was drinking his kool-aid after his junior year. Maybe he can return to that form.
I'm also not completely sold on McCoy. I just don't think he does anything exceptionally well, but can catch the ball and provide some running ability.
