thanks, I really like Titan's defense and the way they play, overall the Titan's style this season is the way I think football should be played. The reason I ask is because I am trying to find information on potential Andy Reid replacements and the first place I would look is at the Titan's. Hopefully the Eagles can manage to steal him away from you guys! :D

Andy Reid replacement? I don't think he's going anywhere anytime soon. Unless he just randomly retires.

Gotta wonder why Reid would be gone after this season. Plus, Jim Johnson is one of the signature DC's in the league along with Dick LeBeau and Monte Kiffin. If Reid leaves and another HC comes in with a new DEF scheme, then Johnson would be out too and rebuilding mode would be fully on.
As for stealing someone away from the Titans, do you mean Jeff Fisher or Jim Schwartz? Fisher just signed an extension, but I could see Statistical Jim leavin' for bigger and better things.
The one key thing about our DEF philosophy is that it needs the perfect players to operate it. If you have the perfect players, you have the '07-'08 Titans DEF. If you don't, then you have the '06 DEF which was last in the league. It'll take patience, but it pays off. Dunno if Philly fans have a long enough fuse for that drastic of a philosophy shift and rebuild that'd follow.
As for Schwartz's to-be-replacement should he get a HC gig, I'd hope Jim Washburn would be given the reigns. He and Munchak are two assistant coaches we could never afford to lose.

Yup yup. I don't want to hear the pundits talk bad about the Titans ever again. Last week, everyone said can the Titans win through the air if their running game was shut down. Against the bears, they were held to 20 yards rushing, but Collins had his best statistical game of the season. This week, everyone talked about can the Titans come from behind and win a game, do they have the offense capable of doing it. Against the Jaguars, we were losing 14-3 at halftime, we win the game 24-14. No more excuses can be said, this team is easily the best in the league

Congrats guys. I may actually root for you guys a little in the playoffs due to my sheer hate of Favre and P. Manning (if he gets in), but once I see Jeff Fisher's porn stache five or so times in the AFC Championship game I'll go back to hating ya'll.

Anyway, I continue to be impressed from areas I'm not expecting.
Justin Gage - 4 rec., 147 yds, 36.8 avg, 2 TD's - Made Reggie Nelson his lady friend!
Chris Carr - Acrobatic INT on the sideline and got both feet inbounds!
Gotta love it!

We need more Chris Carr's in this league. I wish we never would have let him go, but hey, we're the Raiders. We don't know how to evaluate talent.

Unfortunately, it looks like Eric King is out til the postseason after refracturing his forearm. Good news is that Nick Harper is back this week, and Chris Carr has shown he can start.
Plus, KVB should be back after missing a handful of games, so that should help the secondary too!

From reading everyone's comments, it sounds like you guys are comfortable with Chris Carr starting.
I must've been watching a different game.
I'll admit that Carr made a GREAT play on that INT catch in order to keep his feet inbounds (though Tony Brown also played a big role on that play to hit Garrard's arm as he threw, making the ball just float up in the air).
Other than that INT play, I wasn't very impressed with Carr. He was giving his WR a huge, HUUUUUUUGE cushion -- like 10-15 yards. That may have worked against the Jags, who don't scare anyone with their passing game; but against a better pass offense, I think Carr would get absolutely abused for that cushion.
There's a reason that Carr is #4 on the depth chart, IMO. I don't want him anywhere near the starting lineup for an extended period of time.
Just my $0.02...

Eh, I'm not annointing Carr or anything, but he's young and was being targeted on pretty much every play. He didn't really give up any big plays. I just think he'll get better with time. Cortland Finnegan was burned a couple of times his first start against the Jaguars last season.

Well we don't face any "indimidating" pass offenses until the end of the season, against Pittsburgh and Indianapolis. Other then that, the Jets, Lions, Browns and Texans don't scare me through the air.

The cushion was situational. I doubt the coaches wanted him to be aggressive until he was comfortable, and we'll give up the underneath stuff all day. Plus, compared to Finny, everyone of our CB's give a nice cushion.
What Carr did was right. He had little playing time, so he kept everything in front of him. It's better than playing too close, and getting burned after being unable to recover quickly enough like Rey Hill.
But you're right. Against better pass offenses, he'll be targeted solely because his side of the field is opposite Finny - let alone because he's 10-yards off the receiver. Hopefully he'll get more aggressive, but until then, I'm glad we have Harper back.

Eric King ( :( ) to IR, along with Reynaldo Hill.
FA Tyrone Poole signed to replace depth, and Tuff Harris was brought up from PS.

At least they put Reynaldo Hill on IR. We'd be better off letting the WR run free than having Reynaldo Hill cover anyone.

Damn that hurts our depth, hopefully Poole and Harris are able to play adequately in those nickel situations, given that the Jets like to spread the field. Sucks about King, he was breaking out this season and then this happens.
