Now the Cowboys can finally get players on the new strength and conditioning program that they were planning. I'm betting that it has a positive effect. Maybe not night and day, but I think we'll see some good changes.

I'm glad he recognized it though. I think the lockout factor had a reason behind it too.

WR is one of those positions where you can find a guy off the street and get lucky. They are as good as their QB wants to target them. Look no further than Laurent Robinson and Miles Austin himself.

That's what I'm saying, if we can play hot out the gates and get some of those tough Ws we should be able to really roll down the stretch.

7 of the first 10 on the road.... I don't know but it looks like the NFL just doesn't like us this year. Our preseason sucks and now our regular season does too. Damn.

That's a pretty fair schedule. Harder teams at the end, but I'd rather the homefield advantage at the end of the year more than anything. Scariest game is Week 17 against the Redskins at their place imo. Hopefully we have the playoffs wrapped up by then.

What a stupid looking schedule. 6 of first 9 on the road, then 5 of 6 at home? Then finish on the road, as usual. <sigh>

For once I'm not pissed about an early bye. Getting 13 days to prepare for the Ravens at their house is a good deal.

I think we've played on the road in week 17 something like 4 of the last 5 years.

It might not be a bad thing to have the road games early, since we tend to start fast and then swoon. People forget that despite the 2-3 start, we were a couple of Romo brain farts and some conservative play calling away from a 5-0 record against what turned out to be a pretty tough schedule of games.

Week 1 is huge in my opinion. It sets up the entire season. If we can beat the Giants after our terrible preseason schedule we should be in good shape. Going to seattle is tough but having 10 days to prepare makes it a bit easier.
Again, week 1 is going to be huge. If we can get out of there with a win I like our chances.

I think we almost have to be 3-1 going into the bye.

Here it is:
Week 1: Wednesday, Sept. 5, at NY Giants, 8:30 PM
Week 2: Sunday, Sept. 16, at Seattle, 4:05 PM
Week 3: Sunday, Sept. 23, Tampa Bay, 1:00 PM
Week 4: Monday, Oct. 1, Chicago, 8:30 PM
Week 5: BYE
Week 6: Sunday, Oct. 14, at Baltimore, 1:00 PM
Week 7: Sunday, Oct. 21, at Carolina, 1:00 PM
Week 8: Sunday, Oct. 28, NY Giants, 4:15 PM
Week 9: Sunday, Nov. 4, at Atlanta, 8:20 PM
Week 10: Sunday, Nov. 11, at Philadelphia, 4:15 PM
Week 11: Sunday, Nov. 18, Cleveland, 1:00 PM
Week 12: Thursday, Nov. 22, Washington, 4:15 PM
Week 13: Sunday, Dec. 2, Philadelphia, 8:20 PM
Week 14: Sunday, Dec. 9, at Cincinnati, 1:00 PM
Week 15: Sunday, Dec. 16, Pittsburgh, 4:15 PM
Week 16: Sunday, Dec. 23, New Orleans, 1:00 PM
Week 17: Sunday, Dec. 30, at Washington, 1:00 PM
The 10-day break after the Thurs. night opener is more than offset IMO by the 6-wk. stretch of only one home game from Oct. 7th through Nov. 11th! That 's a loooonnnnng-ass stretch of road games, & everyone knows how difficult it is to win on the road. And the Wk. 5 Bye is way too early as well.
I think the League d*cked the Cowboys on the opener & with that 6-wk. stretch of only one home game. Season ticket holders will be upset to say the least in October too.
No Redskins until Thanxgiving? What's up there?

Yeah that October stretch of only one home game bothers me. We're talking Baltimore, Atlanta, the Giants, and Philly in a stretch of 5 games with only one of them being a home game. If Carolina has a resurgence then it could be even worse. No excuses though. They just have to suck it up and PLAY TO WIN THE GAME!

I don't even know what to think. A part of me doesn't care and thinks a schedule is a schedule, but another part of me thinks this schedule sucks and we are at a serious disadvantage.

Mathematically sure, but everyone knows that's not true. If we beat the Giants our season will have a much brighter outlook that if we lose and then travel to the Seahawks and lose. It may be 1-1 vs. 2-0, but that could be huge. It even shows in the history of the league. Something like less than 8% of teams make the playoffs who start out 0-2, while over 50% make the playoffs starting off 1-1.

Things mos def get tougher after the bye wk. Can't afford any September injuries.
Only one outdoor stadium in the cold north in late season -- @ Cincy, but 11/11 at Philly could be damn cold too.
