Nope. Massive reach and a 3rd round prospect.

At Joseph Randle’s locker, where he was surrounded by reporters, a football was tucked in his stall. It was a little memento from the first touchdown he scored in the first same game he got his first NFL carry.

“That’s the rock, right there,” he said. “I’ve got to keep that one.”

Of course, Randle’s 1-yard dive into the end zone during the fourth quarter of Dallas’ 31-16 victory didn’t come without assistance. Randle, while in a crowd of Redskins defenders, was pushed across the goal line by rookie center Travis Frederick. As a way of acknowledging Frederick’s contribution, Randle asked Frederick to autograph the football that is now his souvenir.

“I told Travis to sign it for me,” said Randle, who finished with 17 yards on 11 carries. “But he was like, ‘Nah, I can’t do that. I can’t sign your ball.’”
That is an AMAZING attitude by both of those guys. Watching Frederick bench press the entire pile into the end zone was pretty sexy.

He just can't stay healthy. At least we get an extended run-out of Randle :) Hopefully that sore hammy gets better quick for Dunbar or we are going to be extremely thin at RB.

And to think you could easily have gotten him the late 2nd round.

So glad Williams is working out. Austin can be cut without much worry now, and we have a pretty beastly future at WR with Dez, Williams, Beasley and Harris.

I hope Randle can give us production, because w/o Murray, our offense stagnates.

Any thoughts on how we go about covering D Jax next week? Possibly have Scandrick shadow him like Carr chased Garcon around this week. I'm not sure I trust our safties deep speed to play over the top. Getting a jam at the LOS is key, I expect a good amount of bunch formation to get him a free release up field.

- Last year Kevin Zeitler of Wisconsin was a surprise selection in round one when the Cincinnati Bengals tabbed him with the 27th pick. Who will be the surprise of the first frame this year? At this stage sources tell me it could be Zeitlerís former Badger teammate Travis Frederick. One general manager has referred to Frederick as the best interior run blocking line the draft has witnessed in more than a half-decade. We hear Frederick will be a tight 315-pounds for the combine. Where could he end up? Sources tell me possibly the Indianapolis Colts at pick 24 as the team needs a guard or the Atlanta Falcons at pick 30. Watch what Atlanta does in free agency. We hear the game plan is to move Peter Konz, who started at guard as a rookie last season, to center and then sign a veteran guard. If they donít sign a veteran then Frederick could be an option.
Go ahead and believe with all your heart that he would've been there. Cowboys made a safe sound move.

1st round Centers are so money. Incredible value. The C is the most underrated position along the OL, I personally value it more than OT, and the value of 1st round Centers are just so hard to pass up.

Awhile back there was a belief that a 1st round LT was a safe pick and they rarely bust. That is clearly not the case anymore. But 1st round Center has definitely taken on that role.

When was the last time a 1st round Center busted? Think about it. Go down the line. I've been following the draft since 2006 (legit following not casually) and I can't think of one since then that hasn't panned out.

They're money. You can't go wrong.

a couple of ideas, just throwing them out there:

trade Miles Austin to Buffalo for Jarius Byrd. With Terrence Williams and Cole Beasly emerging now is a good time to part ways with the overpaid and oft injured Miles.

sign Richard Seymour. Our dline keeps taking hits. Seymour still plays with a nasty attitude and can provide relief for Jason Hatcher.

Very happy for the win! But since some folks like to needle me, allow me to play Devils advocate...19 carries for 48 yards. Is that what a dominate O-line produces? Washington is giving up 124 YPG and we averaged 2.5 YPC? Romo was under durress all night. His TD pass to Williams was all Romo. We go from throwing for 500+ last week where all the fans were acting like that was going to be the norm from now on to 170 this week against another bad D.

Dont get me wrong, a win is a win but lets not act like we just dominated. We won this game mainly because of special teams. Ya'll are all giddy and acting like our D-line is great but lets wait and see what happens this week. If we shut down McCoy and Phillys run game, I will be impressed.

I will admit that Williams has really come a long way over the last month. Hands, Route running, everything seems to be clicking for him. Kudos to him, Im sure he has been really working hard to get where he is now.

3 out of our next 4 are on the road. I see 2-2 being best case, which would put us at 5-5 heading into the bye. Anybody see us going 3-1, or 4-0?

Why would anybody want to trade for that?

An Austin trade isn't going to happen no matter the offer. We can't afford to cut him as it would put us over the cap immediately.

http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/dallas-cowboys/miles-austin/

He has a 3.5 million cap charge currently with 10,602,000 in dead money if we cut/trade him. Depending on whose figures you trust we have AT MOST 2 million in cap room currently. It can't happen.

Seymour doesn't fit our defense. We need "rushmen" not stout, anchoring, DTs.

Next season is going to be interesting to see how who we decide to keep around. It would save us about a million to cut ties with Miles Austin. Almost a mil and a half for Ratliff. Hatcher will be a FA. Our defensive line is going to get a makeover that's for sure.

Neither of them took him there, but it still shows how some in the draft community felt about his draft value.

Just wondering, Floyd was a Top 5 player, did any of those teams take him there? No? What about Top 10 then? Top 15? Top 20? Top 25? No? Oh. Just wondering.

I honestly think Austin will continue to restructure over and over again every summer like he has been. I think he wants to retire a Cowboy and he knows his value isn't what his salary says. I think Jerry fronting him the $17M back in 2010 is buying our leeway with him. I could be wrong, but that's just my hunch.

Funny, I never said Floyd was a top 5 player. I said/saw the Dallas Cowboys had him rated that high. My whole problem with the draft was that if WE had him rated that high and he falls to 18, seems like an easy pick. If he doesnt fit our scheme or your not interested in the guy then dont rate him so high. Thats all Im saying. Why set a draft board from 1-20 and call these guys your 1st round picks if your not going to follow your board? Seems like something only an incompetent GM would do..Oh, wait!

Are we still arguing about this?!?!?!?! Come on I think as educated fans we can be objective on the weekly progression of the team rather then harping in the draft strategy 6 months ago. Yes, I agree with pocketaces that as much as Garrett preaches bpa that it didn't make much sense to pass on a top ten player on their own board. In retrospect Floyd would probably be a huge addition especially with the ailing heath along the defensive line.

On the flip side, Fred Beard and Williams are playing very important roles on this team. Frederick is steadily looking more and more like an anchor in the middle of the line for years to come, while Williams is digging in and slowly replacing Austin as the everyday starter on the outside.

As long as the pieces are working what does it really matter at this point? I wasn't a fan of all the moves on draft day (particularly Escobar) but now that they are on the team I want them to excede my expectations. Neither of you are wrong and you girls are both beautiful. Can we move past this now or is this going to come up every time Floyd gets a sack or Williams catches a TD?

The groundwork for the Niners trade was made before the draft started. We know that they saw great value in the early rounds and had intent on trading down in order to get multiple picks. Even with Floyd there, he wasn't as valuable to them there as getting multiple picks. What don't you understand there? It's not like Floyd was scooped up soon after pick 18 anyways.

Our pro-scouting department deserves MAJOR credit for continuing to pull guys off the street with enough talent to compete. Also props to Marinelli for generating pass rush from "unwanted" talents.

Wilber has some athleticism, but I'm worried that he's playing out of position since he was going to be a linebacker, then they switched his position. If they can get him on the right track to recognizing things I think he'll be fine, but he really kept hitting the wrong guy last night on those options.

When was the last time a 1st round Center busted? Think about it. Go down the line. I've been following the draft since 2006 (legit following not casually) and I can't think of one since then that hasn't panned out.

They're money. You can't go wrong.
SMH.

Maybe so few go first is because they are not perceived as high value?

So the ones that go first are extraordinary talents?

Where was Travis considered extraordinary?

Mangold who was gold plated or Pouncey were well know first round picks very early on.

So they got picked. Travis was not that.

Sheer jibberish.
