We've run some unbalanced line this year with Parnell on the field. Still can't change the fact that our backup RBs and RG and TEs can't block the back side consistantly.

Agreed. I'd rather have mediocre tackles and elite guards a la the Saints for a bunch of years than the reverse. Tony is awesome at avoiding outside pressure but struggles when the pocket collapses into his lap.

Solution? Get bullies at the guard position who won't get backwards. I'd like to order 2 more Travis Frederick's please! :)

Well at least we know we should be bulletproof from WR and TE in this next draft...

Could have taken Warford in the 2nd and Thorton in the 3rd. Both are starting as rookies. How young and good would that line be? Tyron Warford Fredrick Thorton Free. I'd take that. We wouldnt have drafted Escobar or Wilcox but our O-line would have the potential to grow together and potentially be great. JJ keeps talking about a Romo friendly offense but adds skill position players over the guys in the trenches. You would think at some point he'd learn a lesson.

Our OL was good with Waters. You can't predict injury. Look at ARZ. They took Jonathan Cooper and he's out for the year before the season even began. Leary looks just as good as Warford. Both have had ups and downs as first year starters. I can't really complain about Leary. The thought process behind taking Escobar was sound. The problem is we're not using the scheme he was brought in to jump start. If we ran 2 TE sets and it worked, then the pick wouldn't be so bad.

But at least we know who to blame...and who to credit... Our draft wasn't perfect but I think it easily qualifies as being a success.

haha Hindsight is always 20/20 right?

I think JG's drafting has been pretty damn good...his coaching..mediocre.

Folks can argue about a pick or two(escobar, D. Murray when he was picked, etc), but.....the picks have produced...literally the majority of JG"s draft picks have played and contributed in a positive manner.

Funny how people have that perception. 21-21 says otherwise. If you were around during the draft then you'd know its not hindsight.

Waters wasnt on the team when we drafted. Leary has been average but even if he was good, whats wrong with having a quality backup? You see where our D-line is, JG hasnt drafted a DT in any of his 4 drafts. This isnt a one draft complaint, its a JG complaint and it might cost him his job

JG drafted Crawford and he was projected at DT this year soo....

...and actually, the DT position hasn't been the worst part of this team.

As for Waters, we might not have drafted a OG, but maybe it was their strategy to go the FA route if they didn't see the right value in the draft. When you're trying to fill need, future need, and find the right value, you have to take into account all your options. Who's at the top of our board? What needs do we have left? Are we confident the player we draft is better than what we got? Who can we get in UDFA? Who can we get in veteran FA?

Considering how well Waters was doing for us, I'd say they made a good decision. It's just that injuries happened. It's incredibly hard to have depth everywhere. Miles got hurt and Williams stepped up. What if Witten got hurt and we saw Escobar take off? What if Spencer stayed healthy? We wouldn't have witnessed the emergence of Selvie. Lot of things happen and you can't account for it all. No team can. We can't expect it without sounding bratty.

I still can't believe that there are intelligent Cowboy fans out there who think that Wade picked the roster or that Garrett put together the roster.

Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

You guys are smarter than this. GM Jerry is behind this mess just as he has been since his ego forced Jimmy out the door with the exception of having to bring in Parcells to right the ship...errrr get his stadium built. His constant poor drafts, changing schemes every 4 or 5 years, we're just one game away mentality, has led to this once proud franchise to now being a national joke and completely mediocre.

But hey, we're the number one valued franchise and we lead all teams in merchandise sales so we must be winning?

I'm sick of Garrett but if you watched the draft war room cam, you saw that he was not happy at all about trading down. He sat there, staring into oblivion while Jerry, Stephen, and Charlotte..yes Charlotte..all celebrated while we voluntarily trade raped ourselves with San Francisco.

Yeah we saw it. Pocket thinks Garrett wanted Floyd. I think he wanted Eifert. Who do you think he wanted?

Bleh. Hard to say who is the best team in this division. The Giants are winning again but haven't played ANYONE during their stretch of wins.

Vikings
Eagles (No Foles)
Raiders
Packers (No Rodgers)

Granted I would not be shocked for the Giants win beat us but this is their first real game since rediscovering themselves. They are certainly trending up and we are trending down. Hopefully getting a bunch of people back from injuries rights the ship. Everyone knows 100% how much this defense needs Jason Hatcher though.

I agree that talent and record wise it's hard to determine the best team, maybe I should've said the team playing the best right now in the division imo. Which I realize isn't saying much, but as you stated they seem to be on the upward swing.

Yeah :) The NFC East is garbage this year lol. That being said we still control our fate. Beating each of our division rivals +1 would 99% lock up the division. Beating just the division rivals would still be a good chance of winning.

Losing to the Giants makes things harder. Losing to the Eagles would be hardest to overcome.

Just need to take care of business :)

Eagles look way better than the giants to me. Winning 4 in a row is a big deal no matter how you slice it but they don't look impressive to me at all. Eli looks TERRIBLE. I still would not be shocked in the slightest if the beat us though

I agree with Proof. Philly looks like a damn good team. The rest of us might be garbage, but they look good.

I have a bad feeling that NY will beat us. I have no faith in our coaches.

I think Philly drops the next two, plus I'd rather face a Nick Foles led Eagles team for the division than the Giants, that tells me all I need to know. Hopefully that scenario plays out in the final week.

If the offense can fix the problems I believe that they can beat the Giants. The defense sucks, but at least they get takeaways. If the offense can convert them then they can beat the surging Giants.

Nah. Those words are real. I think the Giants want it more and are capable of destroying us.

I would believe in us if I thought Romo would actually throw the ball to Dez and that we would run the ball successfully with Murray, but that's asking for something that I've been hoping for all season and I can't remember if it's ever happened.

Pretty sure we will come out trying to run the ball, so on our first drive we'll come out running the ball straight up the middle into a pile of nothing on 1st and 2nd down. Then on 3rd down we'll throw the ball to Beasley for an 8 yard gain and then punt. The rest of the game we'll be throwing it 85% of the time to T-Will, Witten, Beasley and Dez will get 4 targets making 3 catches, 2 of them for TDs. We'll put up 31 points, lose by 3 points and wonder why we couldn't get the ball to Dez more and why we gave up on the run.

Default Can NY win!

Of course NY can win....why play the game if they don't think they can win. As per our Boys....I think they can win this game without the defense. They just have to score POINTS! Romo needs to stop waiting for the 4th Quarter. Sometimes I can see how they get a punt and they are not really into it. Their play selection is conservative and they end up getting 1 first down and out...I think that is Romo mentality and he is not really getting the offesnse in a rhythm to score every possession.

I think he needs to score and score and just play every series like he does in the 4th Quarter. I think that is what shows that he was a FA QB. He didn't come from a winning tradition that makes u understand winning..it's not his fault..that is just the way it is...

If they score over 25...I think they win...my prediction....

But if they let the Giants hang in their....we will lose......by 6
