Romo is towards the bottom of the list when it comes to issues with the Cowboys. Dallas can do significantly worse than him.

Its so funny how folks argue that its not worth bringing up all of JJ's failures because hes not going anywhere then want to bash Romo like he is

136-136 Before, during, and Im sure after Romo. JJ does not know how to evaluate talet so he lets his coaches draft the players. JG has drafted good players and has no idea how to use them. What can the results be?

I hear this all the time...but what does that even mean?

So he's not the "problem", but is he the "solution"?...like D-Unit said...every single year we make excuses..."Well the defense sucks(and it does)", and "Well there's no running game(and there is none)", and "The o-line sucks(it did)", "If Only Terrence Newman didn't give up all those catches to the Giants", or "If only we had Ratliff", "If Only Austin didn't lose the ball in the lights"....."If only we had a great DC".

Sure...we all remember the Quincy Carter days...the Bledsoe, and Hutchinson, and Henson, and Wright, and Testeverde's of the world. So yea...in comparison to that...Romo is a god send...Absolutely head and shoulders above those QB's. Thank Jeebus!

But.....he hasn't(and I'm leaning towards won't), put the team on his back and win the games necessary to get over the hump. I wish he would, to shut up everyone, but....I don't think it's in his DNA.

It means our GM has NO IDEA how to build a team.

God I feel like I could go back after every loss and it would be the same arguments from the same people in thread for the past two years. Is it Sunday yet?

I mean he's hired every type of head coach possible...

We got the tried and true Bill Parcells in here, and he built a great team around stable QB's, found a young player in Romo, and made a push for the playoffs where anything could've happened....

Romo messed that up though. (I'm sure you'll blame the K-ball or the lack of a holder though)

Then we brought in a more of a "players coach"...and the team took off from the change of pace...13-3...defense was great, offense was firing on all cylinders....First round bye. Trips to cancun.

Romo messed that up though.(I'm sure you'll blame the OL though)

A playoff win against a over the hill McNabb(where the defense played GREAT) and a few .500 seasons right on the cusp of the playoffs....Including last year playing a injured RG3.

Romo messed that up though.(I'm sure you'll blame the injuries on Defense, or TO, or something else though)

Now we're seeing the bad drafts come to fruition under Wade, and Romo being nothing more than a slightly above average QB unable to makeup for the teams deficiencies. JG has drafted well, has held the team accountable(except Romo), and has basically installed a new identity from what was here when Wade was coaching.

Yet....same issues...we wilt under pressure.

You'll blame Jerry though...as if he's the one throwing 3 picks to the redskins, or doing anything other than signing paychecks.

So after 17 years of .500 ball, what do you think the problem(s) is/are?

Doing worse than Romo isn't an argument. We all agree that there are worse guys out there.

The argument is can he win it all? If you believe that, then what needs to happen that isn't happening now?

1996-2006 all pre Romo we were 83-93 with 1 playoff win in those 10 years. That was Romo's fault too Im sure. The trend has continued with Romo. The problem is the GM, bottom line

Too much Romo and JJ hate, while there is not enough Mack hate. **** that guy for besmirching the great god's number.

The problem isn't only Romo. It never was. It's only a frustration that he can't get the job done as the QB of the team. Where his mind and body goes, so does the ball. That's an incredible amount of responsibility that merits fair criticism/respect, but he is not alone to blame/credit.

Neither is Jerry. Jerry has made a lot of mistakes, but the people he hired and entrusted to do their jobs have to be made accountable as well. Blaming one person for all of our woes is just a scapegoat convenience for the lazy and inaccurate.

When you are the Owner and GM and do all the hiring and firing, you should get 99% of the blame when you have 17 years of .500 ball. If you want to blame Romo then you have to blame JJ for giving him the extension. It all goes back to him.

Yeah, that's the definition of lazy that I'm talking about.

Lol, if by lazy you mean right, I agree. Nothing lazy about blaming Romo for the last 17 years.

Neither is Jerry. Jerry has made a lot of mistakes, but the people he hired and entrusted to do their jobs have to be made accountable as well. Blaming one person for all of our woes is just a scapegoat convenience for the lazy and inaccurate.
Yep...Well said...nobody is saying it's all Romo, or that Jerry isn't to blame....

This is the reason I tell myself I'm going to quit checking this thread until post-season. If I removed my subscription I'd probably never get in arguments about the same stupid crap every week. I love talking draft with the people in here but the critical analysis part of day-to-day crap isn't insightful at all.

That being said I'm shocked that D-Unit is driving another anti-Romo wagon.

Romo's gonna come out and carve that giants defense up on Sunday. Giants defensive backs are no match for the cowboy offense if they just come out aggressive and go down field. They're talking Dez don't like to be touched..lol don't worry you ain't gonna be touchin him as he runs by your weak secondary for 3 TDs. Tyron Smith is gonna go upside JPP's head all day. Lol

Insightful might not be the right word. You've actually been even-keel through our interactions :)

Mainly disappointed in that every single week we have the same exact conversations. We win and Romo has a good week the anti-Romo crowd is silent. We lose and Romo plays well it doesn't matter it somehow is Romo's fault. We win and Romo plays poorly and the pitchforks are out and we need a new QB and suggestions of Kyle Orton being a better fit for the team is mentioned. We lose and Romo plays poorly look out it's going to be a rough week. We'll start talking about drafting Matt Barkley, about how Romo can only win if he has an amazing team around him, and that we'd be better off if we A) Forced Romo to take chances or B) Put the chains on Romo because he takes too many chances.

Oh and if it isn't that then it's the tired argument of "JERRUH JONES IS TEH WORST!?!?".

At least it's an improvement over the Dez Bryant arguments. No one in here doubts him anymore thankfully.

Yeah my issues really aren't with Romo, I don't like the philosophy and utilization of the talent that's out there. Take the reigns off and let's go score some points.

The organization needs to provide stability for its players. The continual switch with coordinators and play callers is a negative for any team. For the most part, that's a reflection of Jerry Jones and his shortcomings as an owner. Obviously Jerry Jones isn't going anywhere any time soon so the inconsistency will continue.

This problem with getting the ball to Dez, the non use of Dunbar in the passing game, where is Escobar in the red zone. What happened to throwing the ball over 20 yds down field?
