Is everyone ready for the redskins to absolutely blow us off the park, I sense mutiny against garret this week. Think he lost the team when he hung romo out to dry.

At the same time, Romo FRICKEN needs to hear it. I don't want him avoiding blame for pulling that crap.

I'll tell you what will happen against the Skins. Romo will go into his shell again. Expect a lot of dink and dunk. We might get an occassional pass to Dez, but not if it's a half risky play. On Monday we'll be talking about how Washington did a great job of bracketing Dez and that's why Romo didn't target him as much.

I can't wait.

Ya know, I cant root for em to lose, I just can't, so yeah I'll cheer and hope but if they do lose it wont bother me as much because it's another step toward getting rid of this coaching staff..hopefully.

Carter, Testaverde, Hutchinson, Bledsoe, Henson, Wright, Leaf, Kitna. Didnt win anything with those QBs either. Whats gone wrong since Aikman retired? Or more specifically since Jimmy left?

Meh. Now days it's easier to find a QB. College is developing them better and they are more able to start from Day 1. Your panic is based off outdated old school logic.

I see your Jerry trolling hasn't stopped though.

If QBs are so easy to find now a days maybe the Jets, Browns, Titans, Jags, Texans, Raiders, Vikings, and Cards should hire you. I hear they've been looking for awhile.

You're doing an excellent job, if they fell to us like this and we had the sense in the draft room..this would be a very good outcome IMO.

I just don't understand the Jerry hate. He is what he is, and unless he dies soon he's going to own/gm/advertise the team. Pointing the finger at him is like being mad at the sky being blue....it won't change a thing. At least jerruh has a chance at getting things right with a new coach/qb/players.

Go be a fan of the ravens or cardinals or eagles where the owner and gm are separate. That's really the only thing to do, pocket. You realize that right?

Ouch. Ordinary, theres nothing ordinary about a guy who can go undrafted and earn the QB spot for the biggest franchise in sports is there?? But after all the failures we've had at QB since Aikman, he's better than what we've had. Just not great. Not bad. But...

On top of being more ready for the NFL, teams are able to find out a lot faster whether they made the right choice or if they drafted a bust.

That list you made is meaningless. There will always be teams that need a QB. The day that all 32 teams have a proven franchise QB will never arrive.

However, if you look around the league only 1/3 have a long time vet at QB. The rest are all young guys.

In 2011 and 2012 alone you have 12 starting QBs.

2012 - Luck, RG3, Tannehill, Weeden, Wilson, Foles

2011 - Newton, Locker, Gabbert, Ponder, Dalton, Kaepernick

Did all of them work out? No. But look how fast we have an answer. In 2013, we already know who are busts. That's another reason why I say it's easier than ever before to find a QB. It doesn't take long to realize you have a dud. You keep bringing up the number of QBs we had between Aikman and Romo, but those days are long gone. It's so ludicrous to hear you bring that up trying to build a convincing argument that without Romo then the same drought will happen once again.

The college game is advancing and the NFL is adopting more of the college game... this is making it easier for teams to put rookie QBs in as starters and find out right away what they have.

I agree with pocketaces 100% regarding Jerry Jones. The Dallas Cowboys will never ever win another Super Bowl until either A) Jerry Jones passes away and his son hires an actual GM and/or HC with 100% control or B) Jerry Jones puts his MASSIVE ego aside in something greater than himself...winning a Super Bowl not only for the players and coaches but most importantly, all the Cowboys fans who have been going through this hell since the 1995 season. And how exactly does Jerry Jones accomplish this? Easy. By firing Garrett regardless of how the Cowboys finish and hire Bill Cowher at any cost including giving up 100% control to Cowher.

I dont hate the Cowboys and except for the three years when T.O. was a Cowboy, I have never been a fan but since im a 49ers fan and my friend of over 20 years is a Cowboys fan, well, we have conversations and arguments regarding both teams on what seems like a daily basis.

Like me though, my friend knows that the Cowboys will never win another Super Bowl until the owner himself shuts the hell up, stays out of the way and hires someone who should be in charge 100%.

The biggest problem that the Cowboys have isnt the head coach, the quarterback or any other coach and/or player for that matter. The biggest problem is Jerry Jones, period.

As for Garrett/Romo, I didnt see the second half but knew the Cowboys were winning 26-3 and I simply assumed that they would win. I was wrong but at the same time, if Garrett was calling running plays and Romo was constantly switching them to a pass, its all on Romo, not Garrett. Personally, people here say that Garrett threw Romo under the bus if thats true, its Romo who's throwing Garrett under the bus first by not only screwing him over, but the team, coaches, owner and all the fans.

Back to Cowher....personally, he's EXACTLY what the Cowboys need. A veteran head coach who's strict and disciplined. Rumors have it that Dick LeBeau will be out of PIT after this season concludes. LeBeau is old but the Steelers defense declining is due more to old age, no young players stepping up, no replenishment of young talent waiting to take over and injuries than it is LeBeau.

Barring a miracle SB victory, Jerry Jones should fire Garrett and hire Cowher giving him 100% control like Jimmy Johnson had. There's a reason why the Cowboys won TWO super bowls (three if you want to include the Switzer victory with Jimmy's roster) with Jimmy Johnson in control, its because unlike Jerry Jones, he knew what he was doing and he proved it.

Roster wise, Cowboys have a good but not great roster. The main problem is when starters get injured, there's no one capable of filling in just as good and second, too much cap room tied to players who are 30+ and starting to slow down.

I dont know who the next HC will be for the Cowboys but if its just another Garrett/Phillips type, im sorry but you Cowboys fans will be like I was as a 49ers fan from 2003-2010...miserable. Only difference is that your roster is better than what I had during that time which makes it even worse.

For your game against the Redskins, I think you guys will win but lose to the Eagles in what will most likely be the Sunday Night game in 12 days time.

And im sorry for the long post. I personally would love to see the Cowboys and 49ers battling each other year after year in the NFCCG like it was a long time ago but sadly, I dont see that happening until Jerry Jones is no longer running the team.

This analogy doesn't sit well with me. The sky doesn't control the fate of every living thing below it.

Jerry hires coaches he can control. The ONE time he hired a coach he couldn't control. The man left under stress. By controlling them. He has more decision making day to day. That right there is piss poor ownership(let alone GMship but I'll get to that).

You're owner should not have a suggestion box. You're owner should NOT be anywhere near the playing group. You're owner is there to advertise the franchise. Pay the bills and GET PAID. Not Coach. Sure as **** not assess talent. Don't offer observations about how people should coach or play. Just Shut the **** and sign the cheque... Premium Boy.

This is why Jerry Jones is a dud owner for a team that wants to win. Great at making money(so is Dan Snyder) but terrible at putting together a winning franchise through the decisions he makes as an Owner.(including hiring himself to make GM decisions)

Next we target Jerry the GM.

The GM is meant to be evaluated on the coaches he hires and by extension their collective record.

Jerry is a .500 GM. Which is not an awful record. But if not for a few years with Wade Phillips of all people. That record ends up somewhere closer to .450. GM's lose their jobs by year three with a record like that.

They are also measured on Talent acquisition and how that talent acquisition came about.

Jerry has made two splashy trades that I can remember and both were unqualified disasters. The first should have been the end of him as a GM.(Joey Gallaway) The second should have been the end of a Football career in talent acquisition being that he not only gave up a kings ransom but then trumped it with a terrible contract.(Roy Williams).

Contracts

The sheer amount of absolute rubbish contracts given out just over the last ten years make a man cry.

Marion Barber was given 45 Million and proceeded to be cut within 3 years.

Roy Williams was given some obscene amount over 50 and was cut within three years.

Ratliff got 40 Mill and then died in the butt. Cut within two years.

Roy Williams the Safety got an extension WHILE he was playing like ass.

We are still paying for Terrence Newman.

Miles Austin hasn't seen anywhere near the return we should have gotten for the contract paid out.

Depending on the next two years. Demarcus Ware's extension might look silly.

This is not anywhere NEAR to the entirety of his bad contracts given out.

So any one of these issues would have seen him fired as a GM as well.

Moving away from the negatives. It's not something he's moving away from. It would not surprise me in the slightest if he traded for Adrian Peterson in a few years just to make that deal. It wouldn't surprise me if Jason Hatcher is given a 40 Million dollar contract.

The point there is. We can't do anything about the ownership or the GM Ship but at the end of the day. You can't expect people to stop bringing it up if he's not even learning from the silly mistakes of Jerrah past.

You can make a big deal of Tony Romo all you damn well want. He's still been responsible for more wins then losses and a hell of a lot of those losses would have been blowouts without him. For every two interceptions by Romo that lose us a game. There are decisions by a coaching staff that have been nothing short of There are decisions which affect the coaching staff forcing them into situations which they shouldn't be forced into.(Being forced to feed Marion because of his ****** contract)

Does anyone notice that I haven't even started on Monte ******* Kiffin and this Defence that couldn't beat a flag football team at this point.

Put together by the GM.

Jerry is the problem. Jerry stops us from achieving our goals and any coaching change is merely a stopgap at best.

I have a question for you and you can ask your friend what he thinks about this as well.

The question is...

Did Jerry Jones only draft the players he wanted and hand pick the Free Agents signed during Garrett's reign as HC?

Do you think that over the time that Jason Garrett has been HC that he has gotten the most from our players, that they play smart, disciplined football and that there aren't a lot of coaches who could do more with the talent we have assembled?

Let me first point out that Garrett is Jerry's FAULT.

In terms of discipline. He's done NOTHING to fix the problem. We had a dumb as hell offensive line for years. We replaced that line and we still make the same damn mistakes with penalties.

We still deal with indiscipline as we always have. This season seemed to stare out a little differently with players being benched for mistakes.(finally some accountability) but it didn't take into account indiscipline. It hasn't improved. We still make poor decisions on that football field that give away dumb penalties.

I can't tell you whether another coach could do a better job. Possibly. Probably. But at the end of the day. The Owner/GM is still the same. So the roster composition wouldn't change too much. And the "suggestion box" approach would still be there.
