Hey, I need some help. I got some criticism on the second round pick for ya'll (I had Pitcock, and admititly didn't know what to do with ya'lls pick; the value for need positions was low) so I need some help on what to do. Here's how the top gos...

Mock

Round 1

1.Oakland: JaMarcus Russell, QB LSU
2.Detroit: Joe Thomas, OT WISC
3.Tampa Bay: Calvin Johnson, WR GT
4.Cleveland: Adrian Peterson, RB OU
5.Arizona: Jamaal Anderson, DE Arkansas
6.Washington: Gaines Adams, DE Clemson
7.Minnesota: Ted Ginn, WR/RS OSU
8.Houston: Brady Quinn, QB ND
9.Miami: Alan Branch, DT Michigan
10. Atlanta: Levi Brown, OT PSU
11. San Francisco: Adam Carriker, DE/ UT Nebraska
12. Buffalo: Charles Johnson, DE Georgia
13. Saint Louis: Lawrence Timmons, OLB FSU
14. Carolina: LaRon Landry, S LSU
15. Pittsburgh: Jarvis Moss, DE/ OLB UF
16. Green Bay: Marshawn Lynch, RB Cal.
17. Jacksonville: Reggie Nelson, FS UF
18. Cincinnati: Amobi Okoye, DT Louisville
19. Tennessee: Leon Hall, CB Michigan
20. New York Giants: Darrelle Revis, CB Pittsburgh
21. Denver: Victor Abiamiri, DE ND
22. Dallas: Aaron Ross, CB Texas
23. Kansas City: Dwayne Jarrett, WR USC
24. New England: Anthony Spencer, OLB/ DE Purdue
25. New York Jets: DeMarcus Tyler, NT NC State
26. Philadelphia: Patrick Willis, LB Ole Miss
27. New Orleans: Paul Posluszny, LB New Orleans
28. New England: Michael Griffin, DB Texas
29. Baltimore: Ben Grubbs, OG Auburn
30. San Diego: Robert Meachem, WR UT
31. Chicago: Aaron Sears, OL UT
32. Indianapolis: Jon Beason, OLB UM

Round 2

33. Oakland: Dwayne Bowe, WR LSU
34. Detroit: Deymeion Hughes, CB Cal
35. Cleveland: Troy Smith, QB Ohio State
36. Tampa Bay: Quentin Moses, DE Georgia
37. New York Jets: Chris Houston, CB Arkansas
38. Arizona: Tony Ugoh, OT Arkansas
39. Houston: Joe Staley, OT Central Michigan
40. Miami: Justin Blalock, OL Texas
41. Minnesota: Tim Crowder, DE Texas
42. San Francisco: Sidney Rice, WR South Carolina
43. Buffalo: Zach Miller, TE Arizona State
44. Atlanta: Eric Weddle, DB Utah
45. Carolina: Drew Stanton, QB MSU
46. Pittsburgh: Marcus McCauley, CB Fresno State
47. Green Bay: Greg Olsen, TE MIami
48. Jacksonville: Lamar Woodley, DE Michigan
49. Cincinnati: Eric Wright, CB UNLV
50. Tennessee: Justin Harrell, DT UT
51. New York Giants: Earl Everett, OLB UF
52. Saint Louis: Buster Davis, WR LSU

OL was suggested but the value is definitely low. Yanda is the highest rated guy. CB is addressed in round 1 one and you draft from top first obviously so I'm not changing that unless it's a concensus bad pick. So what do I do? OL is bad value, and so is FS. I don't view Wendling as a FS and obviously Rouse isn't, so the highest rated ones would be Johnson and White.

Thanks.

Gurode just signed a 6 year deal. This is great news. I have to say that after the 2005 season, I thought we should let him go. He came in this year and had a pretty solid year. I hope that he keeps up the play after getting his payday.

Has Wade made any indications of what he wants to do to the defensive roster? Will he move Carp inside? Will Ellis start outside? Will Henry move to FS?

Also, has anyone looked up his drafting history? What he usually goes for as a HC in the draft? I know JJ is gonna run the show, but it would still be interesting to see what Wade likes going for.

Why would he move Carp inside?

Why would he move Carp inside?
Well, even Parcells was talking about that as a possibility.

Do you think Gurode will be a perrenial (sp?) Pro Bowler for years to come?

I'm not hating on the guy or anything, just want to see your thoughts. Glad we have him back. I wonder how much cap we have left now. I know Terry Glenn has a 5M bonus to be paid before March 1. We still have Columbo, Crayton and Pro Bowler... McBriar... I believe TO has a bonus too.

I just want to reterate how terrible Ramirez is. The guy will be a second day pick AND might even be lucky if he gets drafted at all. I wouldn't draft him before Round 6.

I do know Wade was VP of player personnel in Buffalo and he was part of some pretty good draft classes.

Who'd he draft?
I know he drafted Sam Cowart, Antoine Winfield, Bryce Fisher, and Peerless Price. Not hall of fame worthy, but good players.

Classic. Just Classic. The next Larry Allen, huh? Pure Comedy.

You do know that your lover boy won't be at the combine right? And that he won't be participating at his Pro Day workout...

I don't like to say this, and I know no one wants to hear this, but I don't think Crayton will be back next year. I think that we have other ways to go, and I think Hurd could be our #3 next year. I just don't think we have the space to sign him, Colombo, McBriar, and free agents, not to mention draft picks.

If you haven't heard yet, Garrett has been officially named OC with Sparano named as OL/asst head coach and was given an extension through 2009, pretty much as expected but its final now per Cowboysplus.

As for Gurode, i'm relieved too but I think we had to pay a much higher premium for him then we had hoped for and the pro bowl berth didn't help what little leverage the Cowboys had. Terms haven't been released yet, but you can bet he got around 10M up front and several mil a year, which is a big contract for a center. As to how it effects our cap we'll have to wait and see how the contract was structured.

At worst we should have room to sign Columbo and Grammatica, and give a decent tender to McBriar and Crayton. Once we release Bledsoe that'll free up some extra room, as well as prorating the bonuses owed Owens and Glenn, but I just don't see a big name free agent coming in this year, especially if we cut Rivera and take the cap hit that entails. I'd also look for a bigtime extension for Romo, and thats about it. Hate to say it but if the bidding goes high on some of these guards this year I could see Procter getting the shot to start next year at RG.

Ok...I forgot I took him off a team earlier so I didn't know he was available. Thanks.

We better wrap-up Columbo and McBriar, If Crayton does leave it wouldn't kill me, samething for Grammatica.
