I think Romo himself has a lot of pride and would play if he could and it wouldn't jeopardize his future. I was curious if there was a diagnosis and severity report.

The HC has to do it too. When you see the sideline, you see Coughllin pumping players up and ranting and raving. Tubby and the staff just stand there. So the players take the coaches demeanor and do the same. I understand you lost your QB, but someone step up and be a leader.

You see your defense getting shredded, I would expect Ware or someone to lay into the unit. Instead based on what I saw on tv, everyone looked disinterested and staring at the sky. You have to have leadership on your team. Does Tubby even yell at players? In all my years of watching him, I haven't seen him get mad at all..
Nooooooooooooo. Tuck is not our guy. He got called out by Rolle for being a lackadaisical leader. It's Rolle and Grant that have emerged as leaders on our defense.

Supposedly Webster too. There was a good clip on Sound FX on NFL network where Corey is trying to get Tuck fired up and lead the team and Tuck just sat there nodding his head.

Tuck is not the fiery leader type. He's the lead by example type.

Yes he is. Now whether he is effective is a different story. Tuck is 100% our leader. Just listen to the WFAN unterviews. He is that guy and was the one who pulled aside Rolle in the locker room. Now if you want to point out if he is effective or not, then that's a different debate, but Tuck is certainly the leader on that side of the ball.

IMO, it's not something you start doing out of the blue. You have to have it "IN" you from the start. Ware was never very vocal. It's not in him. Like I said... Brooking is that guy for us. ...but guys don't seem to respond to him. This being his second season with the team might be part of it, as other veterans before him might not be as interested in what he has to say. I dunno.

We need to draft players with that kind of leadership capabilities. Lee has it. Jenkins has it. But our veterans don't have it. That's the problem. T-New isn't that guy. Neither is James or Ware. TO had it, but he's gone and when he was vocal that turned guys off. LOL. Imagine that. It's like the team is anti-leadership! I don't want that to rub off on the young guys.

He's one of the few guys that didn't give up last night. No matter what goes on around him, he's one of those guys that has an inner will to keep on chugging. Wish all our guys were like that. He has his weaknesses, but you can't count heart as one of them.

True, but the guy can't really play anymore. I wouldn't give up if this was probably my last season in the NFL either.

Yeah, that makes more sense to me as an outsider. Tuck never seemed to be the rah rah type. He leads by example. Ware is similar in that regard.

Interesting that you name Rolle... him being a newcomer. Brooking brought the same to our team as a newcomer last year.

I really wanted Sean Weatherspoon for us, because he's that kind of personality. Too bad he wasn't the type to fly under the radar. ATL scooped him up with the 19th overall pick!

New coaches and peterson.. I wouldn't even need porn next summer!!!
I couldn't care less about getting one specific player. One man won't change the team. It's going to have to be all about changing the mentality. Yeah I'd like a guy like Peterson or Amukamara, but beyond getting a safety or corner they need new leaders. Whoever they bring in next needs to put a premium on heart, in some cases more than skill.

Yesss.....It WILL happen! I think 4-12 is all it will take quite honestly.

And if I see Orlando Scandrick in the street I'm gonna toss a large smoothie at the drivers side window and drive off.

I have seen Peterson play and there is no doubt he is an incredible athlete, but I am much more worried about getting the right coaching staff onboard to change mentality than any players we can draft. I mean Jerry has actually done a decent job stockpiling talent, but this staff simply doesn't get the most out of them.

I've come full circle on the guy. Said he was a crappy prospect, that many overrated saying he should've been drafted higher (I even heard 2nd round!)and when we took him so many said what a steal. Then he started to make me look bad for calling him crappy since his rookie year showed so much promise. I even changed my opinion on him thinking that I was wrong, so I convinced myself that he was keeper worthy and a good player. Now I'm back to square one... thinking he's the crappy player I saw when Hawaii toasted him vs Boise St.

He's the lesser of the two Ryan sons. He's a decent D coordinator, but it's been clear in the past that Rex was the better of the two. Getting him as a HC would seem like they're trying to replicate what's happening with the Jets. I'd rather have a more experienced HC to be honest.

Here's a curve ball. What about Tony Dungy? He's spoken highly of the talent before, and he knows how to keep a team together. He's not fiery at all, but his players respect him. He could do some terrific things with the defense too. It's a shot in the dark, but I figured it would a little fun to think about since it's better than thinking about this season.

Dungy is soft as charmin. Hell no! His Tampa 2 defense stinks too.

What about Brian Billick? Marvin Lewis will probably get fired too. I could see us having the old Ravens staff when Billick was HC and Lewis was his DC.

He would certainly light a fire under this team. When the Raiders were in the tank a few yrs. back he assembled a hell of a defense with excellent use of very high early rd. picks such as Ndami Asomugha, Kirk Morrison, & others. You saw some of them in action Sunday when this season's Raiders hung a rcd. 59 points on the Broncos.

He is a tough guy coach who won't run a soft team from camp into the season as Wade has done, & he's also goal-oriented & could measure progression toward it like a playoff slot.

A rah-rah-type buttkicking coach is good for the short term but he has to sustain that through 16 games & that's not easy, goals have to be set & achieved as a team, not merely Ware making a Pro Bowl. The 49ers made that mistake with Singletary, who got their attention & rallied a disparate group of individuals & it worked for the short term, but this yr in the long term they have as many problems as the Cowboys, same rcd. too, a 1-win team whose defense can't hold a lead when the offense gets the lead.

I was too harsh in my post last night after the game due to terminal disgust as I'm sure many of yall experienced as well, looking at some replays, Kitna & the team rallied & scored & got the crowd back into it, Kitna deserves great credit for playing with a bloodied nose & getting whacked by the pass rush. But there were some defensive halfhearted efforts in tackling too, even the ESPN crew commented on how some guys especially DBs seemed to give up. And that's unacceptable, anyone who has ever played this game knows how players can sense when the opponents are getting tired or just giving up & then go for the throat -- that's exactly what the NYGs did.

Jenkins needs to get back on his game, IDK if they need a new corner Peterson or otherwise, got to have that pure center, a safety who can cover & new OG b/c the high mileage on Leonard Davis has clearly caught up with him. Colombo is still young enough to salvage his career, & Newman showed last night in the early 1st qtr. he can still play. What do you think?

And my compliments to the classy NYGs & other teams fans on the thread who have offered positive advice & analysis. We remember that the Giants were Dallas' parent team & the strong ties still remain 2 generations later after the late Tom Landry, the last true player-coach in the NFL as a Giant, broke off to help found the new franchise in 1960. The rivalry there is very strong & that's why broadcasters love to put that matchup for a national TV audience, 3 times in the last 3 yrs.

Not too bad for 3,500 posts.

What about Brian Billick? Marvin Lewis will probably get fired too. I could see us having the old Ravens staff when Billick was HC and Lewis was his DC.
Aw man, I totally forgot about Billick. He was my number choice back in 2008 when I thought that Wade was going to get canned for sure. He would be an awesome coach here. He's got the offensive weapons to work with, and he has enough connections to build a good staff to keep the defense from going to hell. I'd love having him here.

Even though i don't care and it doesn't matter at all now, WTF WAS THAT DEFENSIVE PACKAGE IN THE RED ZONE WHEN SENSABAUGH WAS ON NICKS... like are you serious?

And second off... my mom would've played the ball better than Sensabaugh.

Pressure was in eli's face, you put your foot in the ground, and pick that **** off, maybe taking it to the house. A high school DB couldve picked that off... seriously.

And he is an NFL player? What a joke.

I was at the game and as soon as the Giants broke the huddle, I saw the WR going out and Sensy moving out there. I knew that was going to be a problem.

Did you hear Wade's presser? He said they didn't know the Giants had a WR in the game! How the hell does that happen?!

I was sitting on the opposite end of the stadium and I saw that match up right away. Very poor.

Not even that, but Sensabaugh's play on the ball was atrocious. Sometimes, I don't get how these people are in the NFL. He just stood there, then pretended to hug nicks like they were cousins.

I would have made a better play on that ball. It was football 101. Eli was about to get crushed... so you jump the route.

To be honest, I want to go 2-14 but put up points every week. I don't want our offense to lose stats without Romo. We need that Dez OROY.
