I think they're trying to renegotiate or trade him. I don't think they're that stupid to outright cut him.
What I'm saying...is getting rid of him is dangerous.
We're talking about three new starters along the line. Potentially two rookies and an unproven second year guy, in Costa. This is something that could blow up in your face. Not to mention...this would deplete, our already scary depth.
I don't think they'd kill their depth without replacing via the waiver wire. Do you? There are cuts to be made, and OL to be had....for cheaper than Gurode.
They'd still be starting the same guys...Say it's Nagy, Costa, and Smith. Being realistic...it's never a great idea to start two rookies on the line, if you hope to, say win a Super Bowl in the near future. And Costa doesnt have much starting experience at all, either. It's a dangerous game. They may look good now...but it's no guarantee that this move would be the right one. It's risky. You're looking at potentially a very inexperienced line.
As for depth...you'd be starting one more of the players you were counting on to provide depth. Who knows what's going to be available out there? It's a scary thought. I'd certainly feel much better with Gurode out there.
